YES, leave no trace. I was picking up trash on our vacay to the beach with our kiddos last month! So annoying that people will leave trash in such beautiful places. 😒

Where exactly is this?
This is awesome! We are still learning... Finding spots has been tough for us in Colorado Springs area and we are also nervous about bears while staying in a roof top tent LOL! But we are trying it tomorrow night outside of Boulder! Wish us luck :)

We use campendium to find spots. You can also try free campsites, ioverland, and dyrt as well. Where did you stay near Boulder? That's out back yard. We love going to the springs area. We just visited Cheyenne mt zoo last weekend in fact.
HI, THANKS for the video! may you share where this campsite/campground is please. or how you can find sites like these?

These are dispersed camping spots off National Forest Roads. We were in Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest near the grand lake. They are not in a campground. I just search them out on Google Maps & google satalite! We just stumble upon these sites when we are driving backroads.
Fun time! How about roof rack storage or receiver hitch rack for more storage… otherwise looks great!

We've been thinking about that too..just not sure if it's really necessary yet. Since we have more than enough space for everything in our SUV (Below & above our bed...depending which way we go) Time will tell...😆 thanks for watching!
I built a simple platform to go in the back of my daughter's Grand Cherokee. The top layer of the platform lays directly on the folded rear seat right behind the front seat, and tapers a little bit so it is about 3" high right before the tailgate. That way the platform is parallel to the ground. There is a cut across the platform about 1/3 of the way back so the front pieces can come out and the back seats can be opened up and used. The removed pieces fit under the back of the platform. There is also another piece of plywood under the back that can slide out partway and form a shelf for cooking. When you aren't camping the loose pieces go under the back of the platform, raise the rear seats up and use the car like normal. We sit around the fire at night, usually a propane fire pit, until after dark. Then we go inside and watch a movie on a tablet, then go to sleep. If you have 2 people traveling in the SUV then you have to pack pretty light. My daughter intends to use her setup with just her and her dog. I told her if she travels light she can put all of her other stuff on the front seats while she is sleeping that way it is out of the weather.
What part of Colorado was this?

@@JeanieMarie Wow! That was a fast response. I’m still watching the video!! Thanks though. Wish I’d known sooner as I just ordered a load of blackout material and magnets - which arrived today no less, in an attempt to make my own. I’ll definitely check out weathertech. Just subscribed too. I’m in Denver and have been desperately trying to find a dispersed car camping channel. 👍👍

You should put a luggage carrier on top of your car to store everything!

We thought about that, however our Jeep wouldnt clear the garage and we don't want to take it on and off all the time 😆 if anything we will get a hitch basket. But so far, everything is fine just inside.
Good job. Can I suggest that you look directly at the camera lens? It seems like the lens is not right in the middle of your picture. We were doing some iPhone filming and I noticed when I look at the screen my eyes are really looking off of the middle. If that makes sense? Otherwise great job

@@JeanieMarie Oh no...it doesn't bother me at all. When I did it I didn't realize what was happening. Just trying to be of help. BTW I love your great, happy, positive attitude.
Jeanie, how long does the gas last ? How how many meals more or less ? For a 24 hr trip and making coffee in the morning , do I need more than one ? Thank you .
@JeanieMarie

One gas is plenty for 24 hours. However, we always bring 2 with us, just in case, but have not used it yet and we've been on multiple camping trips.

@@JeanieMarie perfect , thank you !
When's it time to trade in your Jeep, you may want to consider a minivan. Loads more room and you might be surprised where you can take it.
Not sure if you are trying to keep your spot a secret, but it would be great if you link the GPS coordinates in the video description. What do you use to find campsites? We tend to use campendium, but I feel like we end up missing out because there are so many areas to check out.
I love your camping videos!!! How are the bugs out in Colorado? I keep thinking about how peaceful it looks, but then I remember that this year in MN I am getting eaten alive by the mosquitos! Is that just a MN thing? Lol
@JeanieMarie
2 жыл бұрын
Funny you ask that!! The bugs are exactly why we gave up camping in MN as I couldn't deal with them!! We would only go early spring or late fall so that we didn't have to deal with them... so we gave it up! In the mountains it cool and crisp...no bugs. There may be an occasional mosquito here or there...but we have never been bitten by one! It's drastically different from MN. 100% better camping weather and that's why we are loving it so much more now than ever!
