Remarkable Rebuild of a 23 Year Old Yamaha YZ125 | Transformation Timelapse
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Enjoy this complete rebuild of a 1998 Yamaha YZ125! I bought this bike with a blown up engine and a ton of missing parts. Over the course of 8 months, I rebuilt every component of the bike to transform it into an incredibly mean 23 year old dirtbike. The bike is for sale in Belgrade, Montana. DM me on Instagram @kincadep for inquiries.

I somehow stumbled upon this video. I am left in complete awe. Never once did you take a shortcut. Somehow, you went from mechanic to surgeon. Rebuilding and restoring life. Bringing back exploration and exhilaration. With each component, care and competency. I wish you were in Arizona. I can't tell you the worth of a solid meticulous engineer. Especially when you find yourself 20 - 25 miles from the nearest road. Job well done, sir. Well done.

Beautiful! I purchased a 1996 completely disassembled a month ago to restore. To my surprise it had the 144cc kit on it. Great video! Keep it up
Dude that part coloring technique with the Rit dye is genius!
Damn man this takes me back to some great memories. My Dad bought me my very first dirtbike back in 2001…a ‘98 YZ125. This bike has a special place in my heart so to see this beauty revived to life was a real pleasure watching. Thank you, great work.
I love these videos man, currently doing a frame up build on my 00’ yz125 for the 2nd time. Just pure enjoyable machines to work on. Sick build 🤘🏼
I ran across this video today. I must say. Wow! Excellent restoration job. Such a nice bike. The complete tear down and small detail that was addressed. Very very nice. I watched the whole video. Was totally satisfied. Glad I did. Keep up the good work brother. Keep striving for perfection. Loved it. Whatever your doing now, hope your doing well. Thank you for a great video.
phenomenal job! bike looks SIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCKKKK! love the plastic dying. really dig the steelies. recently sold a 2000 yz125 to fund my new business venture wish i didn't, stripped down to frame, repainted and new bearings all around, redid rear suspension, cleaned everything up spotless. really wish i kept it, but looking for another 125 zinger to rip. great video man!
Dude looks badass man!!
Nice work dude.

Great build. The wheelset is 🔥. I've got quite a few plastic pieces to dye black. From the look of it those turned out great.

greetings from Philippines,
😎👌🏻 I have a Yz 125 98 I am having a few troubles with it at the moment as my exhaust leaks and it’s only got a metal clamp to stop the leaking but it doesn’t have a rubber grommet, I can’t find one either

Buy it OEM from Rocky Mountain!
I’m restoring a 2000 yz125 and I’ve been using a generic degreaser and a scotch bright pad but I’m about to buy the cleaning wheels off of pryme. What did you use for cleaning I noticed you had something mixed up in a bowl when cleaning the rear shock.
Do you have a link to the exhaust? Very nice build
What type of paint do you use for painting the frame and such?
I'm doing my 2001 yz125 this was very informative without having to say a word! Too bad you don't close by I could sure use a lot of help.... by the way what is that color of blue you used on your shock spring?
@KincadePavich
2 жыл бұрын
It's PJ1 Yamaha blue! My build series might have some more detailed footage if there's something specific you're looking for.
Cool video. Love the YZ125. But what is that on the left side reaching from the foot peg/ swingarm area up to near the number plate? Is that a kick stand?
@GoZipper
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he added an aftermarket kick stand.
You should do a 2000 rm 125
How much cost to rebuilt this bike?
Awesome build! Nice job man! How long did it take you? Hours and weeks?
@KincadePavich
Жыл бұрын
I never really keep track of hours; I'd like to but it's hard! This was a couple months overall. Of course a lot is waiting on parts.
how do you know what to torque all the bolt down to, especially with the crank/crankcase

I read the manual!
What hub/wheel combo is this? The 98 is the last year for that axle size so I’m struggling on how to fix my cracked wheel and broken spokes.
@KincadePavich
Жыл бұрын
These are OEM hubs laced to O'Brien rims. I found the rims on eBay. I used Moose Racing spokes.
Awesome bro. But how do you know where to get the parts. i’m riding wr200 98. and i looking to build it up
@KincadePavich

eBay, Motosport, or Rocky Mountain!
Came out real nice, how much money do you have in it? Minus the bike. About to do a yz myself.
@KincadePavich
2 жыл бұрын
Total is around $4400, around $3300 when sponsored parts are factored into it. Ended up more expensive than I was hoping. Was missing LOTS of small OEM parts.

Check recent vids haha 🤙🏻
You are missing a part in the shift assembly. It’s possible that your shifter has some slack in it, before putting the bike into gear. There is a missing washer…
I have a 99 and 00 yz125
