The kraken line from victory is 10/10 across the board. And if you didn’t know, their customer support is top notch. I had a tube go out in my kraken preamp pedal, so I reached out to them with one email, and they replied and said “let’s start by sending you some tubes for troubleshooting” after I already tried reseating the tube, and they shipped me a whole new set of tubes from England FREE OF CHARGE. And it resolved the issue. I highly recommend them!

I agree with you on the price. But I think it'd be great for a recording situation because, since there isn't too much gain, you can layer guitars on top of each other for a bigger, fuller sound without overdoing it on the distortion.

It sounds really good! I've got the Kraken preamp and it wails. Waiting on a g3 so i can start using my boogies preamp again, been using nothing but the kraken. Great video Ola!

I have the Kraken amp pedal and I love it. It's perfect for my needs. I'd like to try pairing it with a Chug pedal one of these days which I think would work super well.

I would say that after trying the Victory Super Kraken, it feels and sounds like "boutique" high gain 🙌

I have got the Chug Pedal. It’s perfect!

I have this pedal.. sounds awesome especially when paired with a boost pedal and a good IR. However I think it's better as a distortion pedal being run into a clean amp than as a standalone pre-amp pedal.. When I bought it I was mistaken into thinking that it's a preamp pedal..

It's the amp Ola is connected to. No matter how good the pedal you are using you can't get that kind of rumble on a 10"-inch speaker while getting that kind of high gain clarity.

To be honest there aint much difference in the chug than a boss metal zone.. sounds like this kraken aint either..

It kinda feels like it could go chainsawy if you crank all the knobs to the max tbh, kinda disappointed that you didn't try it lol

How the hell did you get that much bass out of it? The EQ on the pedal IMO is the part that is the let down. The pedal does sound good, and I like how it can do the modded Marshall thing and modern gain sounds using the gain knob…it LOVES a good drive in front of it. Then I got the Empress Heavy….

It is a cool pedal, but for the price, you can save up another $150 and get the big boy pre amp

No. That thing sounds incredible. High gain with articulation. Too much gain and the song sounds muddy. Love it. I pay $250 for it no problem. Not that versatile but it is the right tool for the right job.

I got a Bad Monkey for Free! 😮 about 7 years ago! This was well before all the hype, the dude didn’t even want it, I tried it out and thought it actually sounded really good for just a single pedal ( I played through it without any other pedals in the chain so I could really hear only the Bad Monkey , he said if I liked it I could just have it. 🙂 so of course I took it. I can’t believe the $380 they go for now ! I’m just gonna keep it. Is it a good pedal ?.. Yes! Sounds great through almost any decent Amp! is it worth $380 ? No! Unless you are a pedal collector and don’t have that yet but I’d just wait until prices are back down to reasonable levels. I usually use a Boss Metal Zone ( sometimes double stacked with a Boss HM3 Hyper Metal , that sounds crazy harsh ! ) into the clean side of a Marshall anyways ! The Metal Zone that I’ve played and loved for well over 2 decades! I absolutely do not understand the bad press this pedal has gotten in the last couple of years. ( I truly think they didn’t experiment enough when they bought it to really figure out exactly how it works. They just plugged it in and dimed all the knobs!) it’s my favourite distortion pedal ever made! you just have to be very careful with the EQ knobs ! It’s insanely adjustable!) From what Ola says, and obviously I trust him his tone is legendary sounding! Boss MT2 - Metal Zone apparently sounds even better through the effects loop ( Ola’s Metal Zone re-review ) but I haven’t tried it out yet as I seem to have the sound I like on the gear that I own already all dialled in. That being said I am going to play around with that in the future.

meh... it doesnt sound that hot to be honest. I dont feel like there's enough gain in there and the highs are a bit fuzzy for metal distortion. I think maybe you should try plugging it to a different impulse response with a cab sim that has more high mids and less low-mids.
