Top 10 Pedals for Metal 2023 : Distortion, Fuzz and More!

Recently, I've been on a quest to find the sickest and dirtiest overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedals for metal and I think I have compiled the best list that there is. I tried to include some boutique products as well as staple metal pedals that have stood the test of time, things like the MT-2 that new generations of metal guitarists have discovered. Did I miss anything? Share your thoughts below!

Have to agree with you on the #1 choice being the E.D. Sunn Life Pedal. Extremely versatile, thick, rich tones for days!!!

Great pedals and excellent video! I have a Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe V2 and it i don't think it's a heavy metal pedal but it's a really good distortion box with an incredible 3 band eq very sensitive knobs and wide range of frequencies. You really need to know how to dial it but you can get so many killer distortion tones. Thanks for the info!

Good video, thank you. I like the TC electronic Eyemaster coupled with a tube screamer. A simple inexpensive chainsaw distortion sound, sounds really cool through a clean amp channel. Have you tried the Chug pedal or the Northern Mauler? Looking forward to more of your videos, cheers

Good reviews. KMA Guardian of the Wurm is next level as well for HM-2 and beyond.

I'm expecting my Gehenna from Eastside today. I'm really more of a jazz player but from time to time I do track for some people where a heavier distortion is the sound I want. I may have a degree studying more traditional jazz but before I knew any of that, I grew up with hardcore punk and the beginnings of heavier metal w/ Slayer, C.O.C, Venom, Celtic Frost, St. Vitus, etc, etc., hence my excitement to get the Ghenna.

It's a great pedal man, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I am also a huge jazz guitar fan, even though most of the stuff I play now is metal.

@@DrewCreal the pedal came and it’s as great and fun to play as I imagined. With 0 gain added it’s magical and full bore it’s extraordinary. Thx for the videos on it.

Love the sounds from the Sunn but way to noisy, every tap sends a tap through the signal. Had to part ways with it.

TBH I haven't tried the Revv distortion pedals yet, I'll have to look into getting my hands on those and making some demos. Thanks for watching!

The Loomis Devil's Triad is the only pedal on this list I'd even consider putting on a top 10 list for metal boost pedals. The rest are big time MEH. You're missing a lot of really good and really popular boost pedals here.

Don't get me wrong.most of these pedals look great, but alot of them are designed specifically for Death Metal.and not Heavy metal except the Boss Metal Zone of course.you get different styles of Metal at the end of the day!even with the Metal zone you still need the Boss FZ-5 Fuzz pedal to match your expensive chainsaw pedals you promote on your list.🤘🏻🔥💰💰

The goal of this video, was to showcase some of my favorite metal pedals, there's different price points here. In my humble opinion, if you care about music and your sound, it's worth it to spend $200 or more on a pedal. The good news, is that you may not need to spend that much to get a great sound these days, there are lots of options.
