Relax your eyes in 21 steps

Visually intense tasks such as extended computer or smartphone use, long hours at work, or inadequate lighting may cause eye strain. Short term symptoms can be perceived pain in or around the eyes, blurring, headaches, or even doubling of vision.
Eye strain usually is relieved once the eyes are well rested. Here's a great way to help with that. The hands are becoming increasingly softer and more relaxed, and that feeling is then transferred to the eyes. This lesson is like a DIY luxury spa visit for your eyeballs.

    Thank you for providing this lesson. Hands feel so soft, and face feels really looser, like in the jaw and around mouth. Whew, where did all this tension come from? Maybe very old tension. Amazing. Feel the eyes are more relaxed, and just feel like enjoying nature with these relaxed eyes now.

    This lesson is amazing! I had a headache because I didn't sleep at night, and my eyes were so strained. After this lesson the pain is gone. Thank you so so much, Alfons! I experience living and just being alive differently because of you, your voice guides me towards actual bodily joy, it calms me down and makes me feel actually happiness and gratitude to you, and gratitude just for being alive and having a body and the mind. Thank you so much, that you make these videos, do all the work as a free gift to people. Thank you, I can't say it enough.

    Fabulous! My eyes during each rest I saw more darkness... at first, it was dark brown/burgundy...and each time more solid black void. I love the suggestions on softness.. "seeing the world softer"....a gentle approach to life. Feels very powerful and full of kindness! muchas gracias Alfons!

    Fascinating session. I've got a long way to go feeling relaxed and smooth in all the movements, but after this one session, my sight was marginally less blurry without my glasses (I'm farsighted) in that I can read the comments without them. They're no longer too blurry to be read. Noch mals vielen, vielen Dank, Alfons!

    Another interesting exploration Alfons, thank you! I was amazed and amused to feel so much more movement in the mid-hand after placing the hands on the eyes the first time. How did *that* happen?! Feldenkrais magic. And my gods that was relaxing!

    Through the fascial connection of hands - arms - neck - eye muscles, and also through the fascial connection of hands - arms - diapghragm - lungs - scalene muscles - suboccipital muscles - eye muscles, to start with...Thanks Alfons for giving this profound experience of modulating the eye tension through the movement of the hands and the breath.

    when reading or playing piano, etc. is it ideal to keep your head looking horizontal and when the words/notes are lower than horizontal, to just use your eyes to look down there/ I know in feldenkrais, we always talk about the whole body moving together, but in those instances, it doesn't seem practical. Would that cause strain though to just move the eyes down?

    I already knew I had a lot of tension behind me eyes, so I kept the movements in this lesson very small but still I feel so nauseous after finishing it. Curious how the rest of the day will be.

    I have to say I watch your exercises and my body responds to it, I understand on a physical level and mentally. I am just distracted by the length of the video and the talking, it could be more condensed!

  • @ImprovingAbility

    @ImprovingAbility

    3 жыл бұрын

    I tried more condensed ways of teaching, and I might come back to it either more consistently or for specific projects. Each video is always (I guess) what I think works the best for video and for me. I also use the talking to pace the class and hopefully help students to go deep and get the most out of the video classes. If the talking is distracting to you, please kindly ignore it and attentively focus on your movements, thoughts and your own experiences instead. Try to remember the sequence by heart and then use your own pacing. Compare the results. Report back. Happy to have you “on board” or “in class” here on KZread, wish you all the best and great discoveries!
