Help to keep your eyes healthy

The first part of the lesson is about differentiation and inhibition: improvement of deep seated habits and disturbances in eye, neck and shoulder tension as well as movement patterns. These are means to re-organise how you use your shoulder-girdle, hands, arms and neck, and how they influence your eyes (and vice versa).
The main part of the lesson leads you through tracking and reversal-of-proximal-and-distal movements, and focuses on observing visual qualities at focus point and at the very border of your peripheral field: color saturation, color continuity, image sharpness, image distortion, loss of detail. The lessons ends with observing the improvements.

Thank you so much for this lesson Alfons. I had 7 eye surgeries in the last 6 months (detached retina) and the surgeon gave me the ok to do eye exercises. I did not know where to start, but your lesson was, literally, an eye opener, and it made me aware of how little my eye muscles were actually moving. You are both playful and thorough, and you manage to make this fun. Looking forward to trying the other eye tomorrow and discovering the rest of your work. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Hi Alfons, I found this video today. What a treat. I wanted to do something for my eyes before my eye exam today in a couple of hours!! Let's hope it helps. My right eye feels so awake. Yahoo. Great video. Will try left eye tomorrow. For some reason I am concerned translating movement from right to left will be difficult. Don't want crossed eyes!! Take good care, Jeannette

not really, if your farsighted they do not cause you do have a lack of convergence and you cant actually see up close .... thats why myopic people have to try to see far and hypermetropyc people have to try see up close

Once you are familiar with this lesson and know the concepts and movements by heart, you can also play with tracking objects at further distances, instead of your hand. For example something in 100 m (or yards) distance… or even further away… a bird in the sky, a house on a mountain, the moon? It‘s a serious practice but remember to have fun too! 😅😁

Very well done! Can't wait to explore in daylight as well. As I got tired of squeezing one eye closed, I tried covering my eye with my hand, and found out that my face is so much more relaxed, and that I have a bigger range of motion and sight with the opened eye. It was less strainious (does one write it this way?) then just closing it by shutting the eyelid and keeping it shut. Would you say - it matters for this practise, or will the benefit be equal in either way?

Good question! Some practitioners use eye patches (pirate much arrrr?!) to cover one eye. If it’s the eyelid closing the eye, then there’s always some extra work in the brain (etc). That can be a desired part of the lesson, or an obstacle - as you discovered yourself too.

I just did the lesson in the dark (early morning, still in bed) and just realised that there’s a way to keep the other eye closed that requires no effort 😅😁 in fact when we sleep both eyes are closed effortlessly 😅

It’s simple: the best quality that you can afford. I live in an AirBnB rental apartment and the furniture is low cost, but good quality considering the low price range. The carpets were a present from a Japanese student, they are just thin layers of foam wrapped in polyester material, but also quite good for the price range. Of course if I had more money I would rent (or buy) a house or apartment with a small garden or atrium and would design and furnish it with high quality, natural as well as traditional Vietnamese inspired furniture, and large natural fiber carpets, great lighting and soundproofing solutions and a cozy, inspiring atmosphere for classes, hosting guests, self reflection and creative work. Well, one is still allowed to dream! I hope this answers your question.
