Core Workout - safe, light, daily, 5 minute workout

When you are in back pain that's RELATED TO LOW PERFORMING CORE MUSCLES, then you need safe to do, light, core building exercises. Three times 7 minutes per day will probably be better than a strenuous, one time 20 minutes workout. After you survived back pain you still need a daily core workout practice to maintain your core muscles. These movements might just be what you were looking for.

Another great push up option is with the hands on a raised surface like a countertop or even a wall. Sometimes people struggle with good hip mechanics in the kneeling option but countertop push ups allow for the full body plank position. I couldn’t do push ups for years but have reintroduced them since your videos have helped me recover my pain free range of motion after frozen shoulder syndrome - thank you!

Oups, this will take a while longer, because I’m almost completely maxxed out with studying for and writing my blog, which is an exploration of mixing essay writing with movement instructions. But I plan to finish my blog project by June this year (2021), turn it into a book, and then continue with my book project on back pain..

dear Alfonso, i’m studying dancing and trying to find a connection between the dancing “push harder” attitude and feldenkrais movement awareness. I’m not able to do my middle split even though I was practicing for a long time. Would be more than grateful to get any information on this subject. all the best

Hi Nana, there’s one study about Feldenkrais and stretching by James Stephens (google), he compared different types of stretching. Maybe that’s a starting point for research? I‘m no expert on flexibility, and therefore don’t have specific videos for this. There‘s Feldenkrais lessons called „the splits“ and „the scout“ which have similar movement patterns. Also try to google. Think „movement quality“ instead of „movement tricks“ ...

Hi Alfonse! I'm a new viewer and was told not to do with elbows facing out (to protect the shoulders) I was taught that the best position is in a 45° angle from the trunk. Is that right? Thanks in advance for your help😊🌻💕

Hi Maria, this is not a simple question, and needs to be answered in context. 45° angle sounds like an overly generalised textbook answer, beneficial for a select few situations, but maybe harmful in others. Contact me for private lessons if you like. Wish you all the best! :)
