These must be the fittest stags in the country as they have lots of stags Fighting over the hinds and the terrain!! Great to watch I’m sure thanks for sharing your experience Jane great work 👍

Hi Rosco, that's something I had not even considered until now. Just the terrain is hard enough... and that's not even high up on the hillside! Indded, they have to be super fit, especially those Stags with their harem of hinds to protect. It is a total privilege to be able to be there to watch this amazing annual event. Hi Don, thank you for your appreciation of what goes into making one of these videos. You certainly do need patience and constant concentration, even just locating the Deer, as they move about through the night and in all weather, when I cannot be there. And without the explanation, it would be hard for anyone to fully understand what is going on. I managed 5 days at this location this season. Last year I was there on 7 different days. I have filmed better scenes this year in less time. Basically, it is impossible to know what is likely to happen in a typical day. There is also the very changeable weather conditions to deal with too.. All-in-all, it's been a really good 'rutting season'. I still have plenty of footage to go through yet. Thanks again, my good friend. 👍◕‿◕

Good morning Manu, yes, the main thing is to capture some great moments. I do get concerned when nothing is happening and I've been there say... 5-7 hours and then I have to hope the Deer liven up at the end of the day. Hi Gijs, indeed, these guys have energy to burn all day long. At timesfor me, it is tricky to know what to concentrate on filming and I look at my camera screen half the time and what's going on around everywhere else half of the time too. All while filming! It's interesting to see the dominant stag's struggle to defend his hinds. In the animal world, as in our world, it's all about competition, and you've captured that fact well. It's a sad but true reality. #2

Hello again my friend, indeed it is easy to understand why all the rival Stags work each other up into their frenzy and sort of work together, maybe without intending to so much, but it makes it super difficult for The Champion and increases the individual Stags chance of 'getting what he wants'. *Dear DEER Dear* 👍◕‿◕

Looking at these deer rut videos I get the feeling that something is out of balance. What is missing are the wolves. The stags seem to have too much time with nothing else to think about. Great footage👍
