RED DEER RUT 2023 👀 FIGHTING STAGS (2) 👀 A Fierce Battle! 👀

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

👀 A Fierce Battle between 2 evenly matched Stags 👀
After many fights, the dominant Stag has injuries to both his rear legs.
Many other Stags, mostly smaller, now see their chance to take advantage.
The Stags roar repeatedley and work each other up into a testosterone-fueled hysteria,
confusing the hinds.
They become increasingly agitated and more likely to challenge the injured dominant Stag.
But he remains strong and will still take on all rivals.
Chapters:
0:00 Many Stags compete for any stray hinds.
0:45 The Stags roar repeatedley and work each other up into a testosterone-fueled hysteria.
3:04 A second harem of hinds slowly cross the ravine and mix with the other Deer, causing chaos.
3:19 More roaring, building up to minor chaos.
3:42 The dominant Stag charges down the hillside to face his challengers.
4:43 The Stags Fight 👀 The dominant Stag from each harem engage in Ferocious Combat on the steep rocky slope. Who will be The Champion?
6:20 Another large Stag parallel walks with the new Champion.
7:02 The Champion Stag has to round up the loose hinds and find a more secure area to defend them.
8:28 Many Stags are chasing the loose hinds whilst the Champion is busy.
10:27 The dominant Stag from the harem that emerged from the other side of the ravine tries to gather his own loose hinds.
10:55 A Funny Moment 👀 An excited Stag charges down the hill, but runs straight into the defending Champion. 💩
12:46 The dominant Stag now has his hinds protected by rocks and looks to challenge the Champion once again.
14:30 The Champion is in a very strong defensive stance with his hinds gathered high up against the rocks.
14:53 The Stags Fight again 👀 They both know they could get fatally wounded but their hinds will occasionally wander toward the other harem. This is about establishing their territorial boundaries.
15:23 They show 'respect' for each other and get on with defending against the many other Stags.

Hello my dear friend, I truly miss this place once the rutting season is over. Sadly, there is very little else there and once the Deer disappear, it is very quiet there. That is amazing if you just want a fabulous location to enjoy the views etc. Thank you as always, for your continued support and for your kind comments. Have a wonderful second half of the week my friend. 👍◕‿◕

Finally I watched it dear Jane! I will not enter in details otherwise with my slowness in writing it will get tomorrow, but this was such an exciting video! These were epic battles! And it is so interesting to observe how the hinds behave when the strongest Stags are going to fight. The repetition of these events make sure their evolution, while we have to been informed not to drink the shampoo... ^ ^ Have a great Sunday dear Jane, and with a lot of luck if You will be in the wild!

Like 👍 3 Wow that was incredible to watch such a unique place to see the rut!! Those stags must be the fittest stags in the uk to keep running on that terrain. What a fantastic fight that was as well!!! They could easily be killed being pushed off a big drop. The sounds were great 👍 well worth all your hard work to see this thanks for sharing. I’d love to see this on the mountain sides.

Hi Rosco, yes it is pretty unique and beautiful and scenic. But it can be equally as nasty when the low clouds sneak over the skyline and dump their water all over you, lol. There are times when I find it hard to believe how much charging about they do on such an uneven and dangerous terrain. In fact, at the bottom of one side, I went one day and it was clear and then a few days later there was a huge boulder almost as big as myself lying there! It did make me think that another could come bouncing down at any time! Yes, that fight was incredible too, especially when they fought their way across the scree of rocks, flicking them all over the place... I was very happy to capture that. I think I caught my 2 best fights this year and it was worth the hard slog getting there, but it takes a lot out of me. Thank you as always for your continued support, my Deer friend. 👍◕‿◕

Just wonderful footage Jane. The dominant Stag just kept going. But it did look a free for all at times!! The big fight was amazing to see. Lasted a long time and you could sense that it would have been over quicker if the big Stag was fully fit. And then at the end he picked his fight carefully and neither wanted to really go for it. Brilliant to watch in a stunning location. Just fantastic!! 😍😍

Hi Dave and Sue. It can be a free for all at times and looks to be semi-co'ordinated, usually during or following those times when they all repeatedly roar and get one another so worked up. That was the longest single fight I have seen there and it was a massive thrill to capture it on film. I'll bet these Stags feel all those aches and pains once the rutting season is once again over for another year. Thank you as always for watching and for leaving lovely comments, my valued friends. 👍◕‿◕

It is a great place for observations, with no trees around, we can see everything so clearly. That's wonderful! Really enjoyed your film dear Jane. 👍 All the best to you! ❤

Good morning Anita, I hope you are well. When the weather is good and the wind is low, it is a hard place to beat and a beautiful place to be. But when the cloud rolls over the mountain tops and down the hill, bringing icy cold air and then rain, it is a bad place to be, with a long journey back to the car. I did get caught in bad weather on 2 different days there out of the 5 times I have been in the last 2 weeks. The wind is another problem there because the lens is fully zoomed out, to actually reach the Deer and even low wind causes it to shake a little and ruins the footage. Thankfully, on one of my days there it was almost none stop filming for 5 hours and I used all 4 batteries up and had to go home early... only the second time that has happened in a few years! So I captured so much footage on this day, I 'could' make many videos if I wanted to spread it out more. Anyway, I am so pleased you continue to watch my videos and always leave your kind and supportive comments. Thank you as always, my dear friend. 👍◕‿◕

The injured stag is smart, he manoeuvres himself to be upward on the slope and then he can use his weight instead of his injured legs. It is hard to watch injured animals fight like that. We see big male kangaroos fight fierce battles every couple of years or so, towards the end of winter. It can be nasty but it doesn't happen as often as with deer, and once the battle has been decided there are no more fights that year. Also if a challenger has had enough, to submit he only has to cower down and accept a submission ritual. The champion will not do him any harm. You know, most videos you see on YT of kangaroos fighting are not real fights. They are just young males testing each other and are not trying to hurt each other as they do when it is a real challenge with the alpha. Great subtitles. It would be hard to follow what is happening without them👍

Hello my friend, you are absolutely spot on there with your observation how he helps himself with having injured legs. All that testosterone must nullify the pain he must have been feeling too. And when they are fighting and the antlers are clashing together, any twist or turn and both Stags could easily gore the opponent or take an eye out. It is interesting to read the facts about Kangaroos' and how it could all be settled after just one fight. No such an easy end for these Deer, it's one fight after another with many individual healthy Stags waiting to sieze their chance. I'm glad the subtitles help. Sometimes, I wonder if I add too many etc. Thank you for reading everything and paying lots of attention to what you watched. Also thank you for such a detailed and interesting comment my good friend. Much appreciated. 👍◕‿◕

Hi Cindy, thank you for your visit and I'm glad you enjoyed watching. I think the Stags lose up to 25% of their bodyweight over a 4-5 week period. It's quite staggering really. Thank you for your kind and interesting comment, my friend. Have a lovely weekend. 👍◕‿◕

Those are really angry sounds they creating. The fighting is so extreme that enjury happened. I feel sad about this deer behaviours.

  • @WildlifeBirdsUK

    @WildlifeBirdsUK

    8 ай бұрын

No need to feel sad my friend, I know you would rather they just see who has the loudest roar to settle it, or something like that, but these Deer learn how to fight and defend also. One will usually back down after a brief rut and be fine. Yes, sometimes they will get injured but that is nature and all Wildlife & birds fight, but mostly it is never seen or captured on film. Thank you for your comment my good friend. 👍◕‿◕
