Hi Rosco, that was a first for me and I didn't really notice it until the following day playing the videos back. The Stag sure chose his moment to attack and from 4 rivals to zero in no time is what I would call a result! (It is the quietest year by far of the last 4 years at this location). Hello my friend, it is very peaceful there for 11 months of the year. For the other month it is rutting season and there are usually 80% more Deer around than this year so far. And they roar and bellow all night as well as the daytime, lol. Thank you for watching. 👍◕‿◕

Hi Don, indeed I was up in the hills again yesterday but the Deer have been too heavily culled and there are not so many about, maybe 30% of what I usually find there. I was up at 5am after near zero sleep and half an hour up the road I was caught up in a motorway jam about a mile from my turn off and was stationary for over 2 hours which physically hurt me with my coxic/coccyx problem and other painful 'stuff'. The Deer are mostly active at first light so to miss those first couple of hours made it a long tough day. I actually left there at around 2pm and just randomly turned off the M6 for a rest on the way home a couple of times and did short walks. I'll try again next week when it is supposed to be decent weather?!? This footage was great to capture though and these things are so so easily missed. A very wise and clever attack from the dominnt Stag and all rivals were simply cleared in a couple of minutes and he went straight back to annoying his hinds lol. I've never heard of Knockendarroch tbh Don? Just watch out for the Fairies, Pixies and Goblins in that enchanted forest... and make sure to film them. Should be an easy task, just like filming 'Nessie'. ( ͡ ͜ʖ ͡°) hehehe I wish you and your lady friend a wonderful time. 👍◕‿◕

Yes it's rutting season here too for the fallow and red deer. I've never seen 3 stags involved like that. Hard work being a dominant male!

Hello there and thank you for your visit. I would love to spend a few days in The New Forest to film what I could during The Rutting Season. I'd love to film the Goshawks there too. Indeed, many Stags die trying to be the dominant male and constantly fighting with other testosterone-fuelled Stags without any doubt. Thank you for your comment too my friend. 👍◕‿◕

@@LivinginTheNewForest Hey, it's always nice to hear of Goshawks doing well as they are heavily persecuted by gamekeepers and shooters anywhere near to Grouse Moors. I will be hearing and seeing many Ravens tomorrow as i head back to the Lake District to film more of the red deer rut... I just hope to capture something interesting. Thanks again my friend. 👍◕‿◕

If it is the music? ... well I added that because it was very windy and that is all you hear in the background. In fact it was so windy, I could not use around 80% of what I filmed this day. I know what you mean with music and videos though and if I ever get good sounds in nature, I always include them and often do not use music at all. Hi Dave and Sue, cowardly maybe, but very very smart too. Those rutting Deer are all enemies to the main Stag who has 'posession' of the hinds at that moment. There would be more challengers every single day, even the defeated Stags trying again, so take advantages of those chances... lol. I've heard Bradgate Park is one of the best places in the country to film the Deer. I've done the same at Tatton Park too. It's so easy to get right up close to them etc and there's no 'real' danger 99% of the time. I'm sure you enjoyed it and thank you for your visit and comment as always, my valued friends. 👍◕‿◕

That's why this boy is dominant! He uses brains not just his horns to eliminate his rivals. It will be hard for the injured one to mount a challenge after it had a horn up his bum😬👍
