This guy is a true superstar always admired his work ethic.
I just spent half an hour watching Justin Verlander work-out, and I regret nothing.
I love this trainer,not only is he hands on but he gets his ass to the grass also...RESPECT!
Coming soon!
Crazy good workout even 7 yrs later.
he is the man
Awesome Stuff!
Great work ethic
Reverse Hyper w/physio ball. Thanks! I needed a new way to hit ham/glute tie-in
I could watch him do this all day...
Awesome video guys... How often does he do this routine? How does he incorporate throwing on lifting days (does he throw on lifting days)? I heard someone in the video mention doing the band work (six pack) after throwing (mixed with lots of stretching)?
nice work Justin. Best pitcher in the world
Complete stud!
Do you have the whole workout routine wrote out somewhere on your website?
good to see they do the under 15 seconds of explosive workout. never in baseball will you need longer than 15 seconds of muscle explosion. unless you hit an insider the parker(; which happens about twice a year
Verlanders workout. Wake up. Pound Kate Upton. Workout over.

Kharmatos13 - His workout is only 30 seconds then !!!!!! 😱
what season/time of year is Verlander doing this workout and how many times a week e do this?
Nice
Lmfao Phil Coke screwing up at 1:40 haha
Jv i love u so much
that's because like they said extremely powerful torque and lower body/core is what throws the ball harder, if you loose flexability by working your upper body it screws over your pitching career
same
nice quarter squats
Hi
Who else is bored while quarantined
No wonder this guy never gets hurt
How heavy is the med ball he's throwing up?

it would be cool to see a Mark Teixeira workout :)
A guy this tall should probably do low bar squats instead of a high bar squat. For someone with such long legs (assuming he does because he's 6'5), it's harder to hit depth on a high bar squat without bending you back over so much.

Henry Bonette actually he doesn’t all he needs to do is work on hip mobility and he can get down lower and probably his ankle mobility is super tight,
@jepoblete

Henry Bonette his trainer shouldn’t load him up with so much weight too cuz his feet pronate a lot definitely needs to work on mobility for the hips and ankles
I like this video but I really like the music they got playing in the weight room. I'm guessing whoever is in control of the radio in there has got to be in their 30's.
Yo
Does anyone know the song at 22.00 ? Thank you

why can't baseball players squat to depth? I've seen verlander, capps, teixiera, and pence "squat" and none of them come close
@captainandroid4077
7 жыл бұрын
Poor mobility is probably the cause. Crazy amounts of baseball players don't have great hip mobility and aren't able to get to normal deep squat depths without compensating or hurting themselves.
why doesn't he go to parrallel on his squats?
This field is literally in my back yard
don't understand the going down in weight on the squat.
don't forget that taco bell post workout verlander style.
when you go down with weight it makes your legs and hips work harder
A Clayton Kershaw workout would be awesome

baseball players dont want to go down really low because that can cause knee problems for us so we go down far enough for the workout to actually work
@totodilezGB
9 жыл бұрын
BaseballBRO9 You know that's completely untrue, right? And don't speak for all baseball players, the majority of players on my college team do full squats with no knee issues whatsoever. Don't spew nonsense to backup a lack of work ethic.

I respect Verlander but I don't LIKE him...because I'm a Yankees fan and he KILLS us every start.
he doesn't squat too deep
Halfs squats but damn prob hit 105mph if he went atg
His workout included a needle and thats about all he needed
Verlander's arms look so weak but he can still throw hard lol.
yeah obviously dude core is lower body and obviously
MLB's best pitcher? I didn't see Clayton Kershaw in this video.

225 mark Justin Verlander was not doing the hop in hop out correctly
no he worked out really hard even withh steroids
Squat depth was weak. I'm kind of dissapointed a trainer would let that slide. Then again maybe there's a purpose
Half squats. Nice. Get that paycheck homie
nice signed bootleg jersey
JV destroyed the Oakland As in the Playoffs this year he is the most clutch Pitcher in Baseball if i needed to win 1 game i would take JV over anyone in Baseball. Go Tigers.
This is some physical therapy shit, no bench, Olympic lifts, deadlifts nothing. I'm just saying to all those young kids watching, this is not how you get the strength to throw hard, this is only good if you have the genetics to naturally throw hard.

Micah Berens u can’t throw hard if you don’t have the genetics. U have to lift heavy and do Olympic lift to get the gains in the lower half
@jepoblete

TJ RhO35s you have no idea what you are talking about, there are different phases of offseason training, if you knew what you were talking about there’s a system of how coaches train their athletes. All the heavy lifting and power lifts come at the end of the process. You obviously don’t know how to train. He’s working on explosiveness , agility and movement, but I’m sure you don’t know what that is

Never seen such bad form from a “professional”. Both of them. Instead of preventing future injuries they are on the road to creating them. Guaranteed.
