Swiss folk metal RULES 🤘😎 I really hope you check out the official videos for Rebirth, A Rose For Epona, and The Call of the Mountains for great reaction videos 😁 Actually, for an overall great time just put on their album Ategnatos and let it play 👍

Thanks for doing it. This is the second incarnation of the band. It’s worth going back to early era with Anna Murphy on vocals and hurdy. Fans genuinely love both versions of the band. They have two folk acoustic records that are absolutely fantastic as well.

Their album Helvetios is one of the best folk metal albums I have ever heard. It is a concept album that harkens back to when the Celtic-Helvetians were fighting the Roman legions. The songs are incredibly powerful. And seeing it performed live... lets just say the mosh pit went insane! We were all fighting the Roman hordes together with the band. Eluveitie is among the absolute best in terms of folk metal, no question. I highly encourage you to explore further.

Hi Eric! Minor thing, depending on what/where you read, the pronunciation is either el-VAY-tee or el-oo-VAY-tee. Pretty close though! The derivation and etymology is pretty cool. The word/name comes from the Etruscan (predecessor of Romans) and is Gaulish for The Helvetian, i.e. one from Helvetica or Gaul (some of the ORIGINAL Celtic peoples). Interestingly enough, the band often works with a linguist to have parts of their lyrics in ancient Gaulish or as close has can be had these days. I took a lot of Latin in high school and college, and Roman History, so when I first tumbled to this band I was like "Oh cooooool!!!"

So yeah , digging into Eluviete, the logical next song from this should be Catvrix off evocation 2 pantheon. That opening chant forms the basis of that song , (a very different vibe musically though. )

Bands who used the hurdy gurdy even back in the 90ies (I can't believe I'm so old) were Subway to Sally and Schandmaul and Faun and they are still here in 2024 :-) bagpipes, hurdy gurdy, nyckelharpa, all kinds of flutes...❤️ They are able to magically ban all the bad vibes.

This song and video are a masterpiece! Can't wait till it's next week Friday. I am staying in Germany for a week from tomorrow especially for a final bang of my holiday with a magical show of my two absolute favourite bands, the kings of folk metal Eluveitie (EL-VAY-TEE) and the best symphonic metal band Epica! I share your video in the discord from the female vocalist of Eluveitie, her name is Fabienne Erni. She is one of my three absolute favourite female vocalists besides Simone Simons (Epica) and Floor Jansen (Nightwish). Hope you are doing more Eluveitie because they will release more new stuff for their upcoming album, I believe later this year! Greetings from the Netherlands! 🤘🏻

Nice that you covered this band because, something like El-uu-wei-ti ;-) is far away from Mainstream even to Metal standards! It's great to give them a platform on your side to reach all kinds of people who might not have found them!

The name of the Band is pronounced Helvetie, not as it is written. It's the ancient name for Switzerland. Fitting for the most sold swiss act. 😉😉 P.s. Other folk metal bands to look out for are Arkona, GRAI and Feuerschwanz. P.p.s. Not only Nuclear Blast, but Napalm and even some of the smaller players like Seasons of Mist and Scarlett Records are putting out incredible stuff these days. Atomic Fire, the splinter from Nuclear Blast, also looks good so far, though things are still a bit up in the air.

Great you came around reacting to Eluveitie - pronounced „El-vaytee“ (the u is silent) - great live band too if the mix is done right 😉. The first half is really dark, but the second half is more traditional eluveitish. Don’t hesitate to dig into Eluveitie.

And my favourite drummer for the shifts you're talking about is Themis Tolis from Rotting Christ . Blast beats when needed , fitting the music perfectly , switching around when required (fire, God and fear for example)

Waooo!!!....Congratulations my friend Erick!! ...I want invite you to give us your opinion, like music lover, reacting to who is considered the best singer of the world...His name is Dimash Kudaibergen, a young singer who handle 7 octaves and 3 semitones of vocal range (An alien)...He has been singing since he was 5 years (he is 28 now) and he can sing in more than 15 languages...But if you decide to react to Dimash for the first time, please don't do it with his most recent songs ... I recommend that you go to the year 2017 and react to the song that made him a global idol ... I mean the performance he did of the famous French song called "SOS D'un Terrien en Détresse", when he participated in the famous Chinese reality show The Singer in that year 2017 ... With that performance Dimash earned the reputation of being the best singer on the planet, so I recommend you start with that one...You have to be prepared because you are likely to receive a flood of views, comments and new subscribers....And I have to give you a warning: Never react to The World Best videos, because they deceived him and treated him very badly.!...I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Dimash....Here you have the best high quality video of Dimash performing S.O.S. Live 2017.....kzread.info/dash/bejne/lHiMlaihndy0kcY.html

Hi Eric. I'm going to say a thing. I've been a Elu fan now for over 10 years and when this premiered the other day I couldn't make it through until the melodic break, the monotone blastbeat just bored me. That's a me thing... It's not the first time they have gone all death core, but yeah, whilst sounding like them, it's not a balanced "This is Eluveitie" experience. I guess I should back that with suggestions, Inis Mona, Omnos, From Darkness, King, (making of) Quoth the raven, there are so many, that's not even a few. They have more than two modes, it's worth having a look.
