I love seeing people being genuinely mindblown by their musicianship. They are GENIUS. They are my eternal #1 favorite band. I discovered them like... 12 years ago? They NEVER let us down. They are overcreative, genius, just incredible and mindblowing. I still have this type of reactions when I listen to their songs, even if I'm used to it by now. It's just... wow!

That instrument you asked about is a hurdy-gurdy. Please react to Rebirth by Eluveitie. Thank you.

If you are blown by Aidus, Rebirth will knock you of your socks. Also you will hear the true and beautiful singing voice of Fabienne Erni (the femal singer)

Love this band. The name is pronounced like El-Vay-Tee. They’re a Celtic folk metal band from Switzerland.

Hello, I love your reaction. I got the same when I first listened to this band with this song. Then I went to their site to see what they were doing and I loved it, especially Rebirth.

Fantastic seeing that you've got round to this band, probably my current favourite band and quite a few different styles over the years from softer to harsher. Exile of the Gods is their most recent video and Rebirth is popular too. Alain Ackermann, the drummer has his own channel and he has a drum playthough of this song with some great capture of his drumming, which is worth watching if you are into that side of things

One of the best reactions for this song I've seen tbh, just seeing the emotional response to it.

When it comes to concert bucketlists, ive seen 3 of my 6. Disturbed, Slipknot, and Trivium. Eluveitie, along with Sabaton and Bullet for my Valentine have yet to be crossed off because they just dont come to New Zealand, and Australia shows are far and between. Ive been absolutely TONGUING to see these guys live and loved them and the way they mix melodics and aggression together ever since Inis Mona, their first single, dropped 15 years ago.

I'm the 'one boy in the midst of three sisters". I really get the 'I don't dare get it wrong" thing. The series of changes/builds around the Celtic interlude is fire. I mentioned it before, but waaaay bitd I played in an Irishpub-jam setting (guitar w/tuning like a bouzouki on the top 4 strings) . There is nothing like the tension (emotional, aggressive, sexual, silly, etc) that you get when the Bohdran starts slammin and the pace picks up... the way the beat on the dead-skin is transferred to the drum kit is genius. You mentioned the flute-like quality in Fabienne's vocals as she downs those ascending 'climbs'. It's some kind of laryngeal dodge, like the first syllable of a yodel... I know the vocal-coaches/teachers have commented on it (I'm pretty sure Elizabeth at TCV walked through it... or maybe it was Julia Nilon??? ...anyway...). It feels very, very NOT-urban. Like, forty miles further into the woods than I live, and that's saying something. I thought you had listened to another Eluveitie before : "Rebirth". If not, I apologize for suggesting it again. Their music video (not live) version is just insanity... great video production on top of incredible music. Out of curiosity, what type of magnification do you use when painting? (I cheat for work, I use my 3.5x medical loupes... my near vision is crap without them... the price I pay for 20:10 at distance. I guess I'd make a decent archer, and why I sucked at fencing . EDIT !!! I just found out : Eluveitie is going to be in Portland OR on March 15th in a great old-theater venue. 4 tickets purchased. If you happen to find yourself stateside again, let me know.. I can grab a couple more .

First time I’ve heard this band. Wow, absolutely mesmerizing. I love Norse Metal/Viking Metal and hadn’t ever heard of them. So many layers and love the harp, violins, and magic flute thing are a great addition. Drums were spot on. I’ll check it more. Great reaction Chief! I’ll be back again

Eluveitie aren't Norse or Viking Metal, they are from Switzerland and playing Celtic/ Paganstyle (Death-) Metal. They also sing in old Ghaulish Language. They see themself as the descendents of the old helvetian Celtic Tribes which lived in Switzerland and where the first victims to the roman empires expansions. :)Eluveitie is an awesome band and you deffinitly have a huge rabbit hole to go by... have fun. :)

@@bighouse1695 No Apologizes needed, we are all in this boat together. Eluveitie is an amazing band, which you can't compare to others. The diversity on the instruments is amazing, and i never found a band beside them who could compare, and I'm also heavy into the norse/ viking stuff. Eluveitie is special. I discovered them with the song Thousandfold which was like 2010 or so... big fan since then... they are also an extremly good live band. Saw them many times live... The time Thousendfold was around only Chrigel was singing, later Anna kicked it, but after Anna left and Fabienne joint they reached a whole new level. :D

Eluvietie played in Glasgow Wednesday. They were awesome. Easily the second best band I’ve seen this week out of 7 bands. Nightwish on Tuesday were the best.

And where to go with Eluviete... Look at checking a live set , or just simply deep diving on Spotify .... But King , Quoth the raven, thousandfold , epona , cernunnos , ategnatos , black water down and Breathe are good to check out.
