That's pretty genius! I'd be a concerned with noise in the cab and the heat it generates but you're only ever going to be using it when you're parked in which case you can have the doors open and everyone would be out of the car. So nothing to worry about I don't think. Great idea!

The Dead Man looks interesting, should be a lot easier than burying the spare tyre. Last May out bush prospecting I met a bloke with his dog & warned him I'd seen 1080 signs in the area. He said, no worries I'll put his bait proof muzzle on. Ran into the same bloke a couple weeks later, no dog. It managed to take a bait while wearing the bait proof muzzle.

That's better Ronny, that's a much safer place for it, But I would like to see that Air Fitting moved further back towards the extinguisher, sticking out like that it could get snapped off. I just bought the Portable Twin Version and the inflator and the Air Accessory bag to add to my Single High Output, Love ARB products. and I have a heap more ARB Gear.

As per ARB, they are designed to stay outside in the heat, resistant to submersion and perform even with dust around.

Ronny, are you still running a twin arb? I'm preparing to choose and install my first onboard air system on my 80 series landcruiser. I'm on the fence between ARB, Power Tank, or a York 210 motor driven compressor with storage tank. Thanks

The compressors are waterproof as long as you don't run it submerged, if you want to do that extend the breathers. ARB do a dust seal for the outlet, well worth having. Using a shifter, not good use the correct spanner and always use heatshrink on the soldering.

Yeah how dodgy is that guy.. supposed to be professional. I never use a shifter unless i have no choice but these guys have all the tools so shouldn't be risking rounding off bolts/nuts

These are usually fitted in tight places like a small tool box or tight corner in a vehicle. At least here nothing is going to fall or rest on it and it doesn’t get hot enough to cause any problems anyway. Yes it does get hot to a point you can’t rest your hand on it but it doesn’t cause instant burns to your hands if that makes sense. Anyways I’ll report back after a few more 4 tyre pump ups

Hi Ronny, I checked it out online, the only marketable (online) solution for the twine ARB compressor "under seat mounting" is for a Jeep Wrangler. With so many Land Cruisers around there must be a product, a bracket, a tray, something, but I could not find anything... I have seen before some of the fellow members in my 4WD club using this compressor as a portable item, yes, compressors do the job, but got very hot even in a separate box... A while ago I had a chat with a sales guy from the nearby ARB shop, asking if they have a solution to install that dual compressor under the passenger seat. I was told actually same thing: compressor get very hot, so placing it under the seat is not good, either seat might get damaged, or compressor could be repeatedly shut down by the thermal switch. I am driving Ford Ranger PX II, 2016 making.

4year old compressor still running probably indicates that where you had was a great place Ronny! Really not sure about this relocation. The heat, sure might be ok for the seat but heat is the killer of mechanical things - so you may find you have to replace the compressor sooner than later in the new posi. My two bobs.

The only ARB product i own is the twin compressor! 33's on my 76 wagon are pumped up from 22 to 36 psi in just seconds, it doesn't get the chance to get hot. I had the portable case and now have the pdp tray under the drivers seat, it's so quick you don't need the tank.

might not be a practical solution in a weight scale those small things get got to the touch would you risk putting a fire hazard.. in your vehicle.. something with a air tank would be more suitable and something with an air gauge off the hand tells you the pressure of your tyres when you inflate or deflate your tyres on the go.. sometimes skimping on things can lead to bigger issues down the track especially if it fails in the middle of nowhere where you are 500-1,000 klicks from the nearest town or city.. touch wood you never have the 12/24 vdc pump fail
