Love your new big long hose, especially now it doesn't embarrassingly leak

Years ago I made an air hose that fed all 4 tires simultaneously. Some oxygen pirate stole it. When applying thread sealant, be sure to stay at least one full thread away from the nose to keep it out of the hose. Sorry, that was a pet peeve of my plumber boss from way back. Never buy another hose clamp and make that hose/fitting connection a lot more friendly to the hand. KZread search “Clamptite tool” or save a bunch and KZread search “homemade clamptite tool”. It is really amazing how many videos of different design styles from all over the world there are. Watch a bunch before you make one. You will still end up making several if you make the first one. Regarding that straight tire valve connector. I have one and I wish I had six more. It is so easy and intuitive to know you are lined up straight with the tire valve. 😎🤙

I've mucked around with air hoses like that for many years and for whatever reason, I've always had dramas with those screw clamps failing when the hose gets hot. Obviously, this is going to be mainly (only) at the end that plugs into the air compressor. I recently bought a pair of "suzi coils" (ie: the red and blue coiled air hoses used between a prime mover and a trailer etc). The threaded ends were too large for the air fittings I always use (Ryco brass fittings with 1/4" threads), so I tapped a 1/4" thread into the both ends of the new hoses and added male and female Ryco quick connects to each hose. Air is supplied from the "Endless Air" compressor via a modified 9kg LPG bottle in the canopy of the Silverado. Quick connects on the bullbar and back end of the Chevy make the job very easy.

Matt, instead of hose clamps you should try an Oetiker clamp. Single use but easy to install and low profile without any sharp bits poking up like a hose clamp.

@@MadMatt4WD Another great video!. There are quite a few Oetiker-style clamps available (and readily copied by everyone). Single ear www.oetiker.com/en/Products/Clamps-and-rings/Ear-Clamps/PG--153_154 Double ear www.oetiker.com/en/Products/Clamps-and-rings/Ear-Clamps/PG101_151 These are good for permanent fitment, but can be cut off if needed (eg: re-using the barb from an air hose).| Stepless types like these www.oetiker.com/en/Products/Clamps-and-rings/Ear-Clamps/Stepless-Ear-Clamps-PG-167-PEX The stepless are semi-permanent, slightly neater and can come with specific radius/tension for OEM uses. These are much easier to remove, if needed, such as routine maintenance with cutters/pliers/flat blade screwdriver (no grinder or dremel needed). Single-ear have a lower profile than the double-ear, but you just need to size them more closely to the hose and fitting as you only get one "pinch". I use doubles for air-lines and they can be cheaper than screw-clamps (buy a pack of the size you need). The doubles also have a wider range of clamping for a given I keep a variety in my spares box for fixing brake lines, fuel lines, etc on the trail. The regular pinch pliers for removing nails work well enough for fitment.

Yeah the heat can be a problem with cheap hose. I've not had the problem but could see it happening.
