This series has been massive. So thank you for taking the time to do them. Id love to see more around the R chasis from you. The process of assembling twin turbo setup, or big single, etc. The way you take the time to explain everything is just amazing. Classroom level of attention to detail. End rant. A nervous gtr32 owner.

I love you 🥹 Thank you for posting this valuable information for building my RB26! This is something I will do in my own workspace and to see someone with excellent knowledge and experience using the right tools and explains what we need to see really is priceless information to have for such a rare piece of historic machinery. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I’ve been waiting for part 4&5 for months!!!

This is gold. My pins don’t fit my rod. How much does a shop charge to fit the pins on to small bore

this will vary from shop to shop, a talented shop set up for this should only be a few hours to complete!

Thank God I'm not an engine builder. I'd miss all kinds of measurements steps.😂

Thanks for your awesome content. When you torqued down the stretch bolts on the rods and measured them prior to installing them on the crank, is that how it should be done is it? As I thought you’d stretch the bolt only when torquing it to the crank? Cheers:)

You always want to replicate the environment it will be living in, this means reaching maximum torque on the cap in order to verify the clearance when it is installed. If you don't over stretch the bolt it can be reused.

@@boost.factory thanks for your reply! Would it be safe to then use cylinder head stretch bolts again as long as they aren’t overstretched?

If you are referring to torque to yield bolts, those can not be reused. A ARP head stud can not be stretched torqued in place because you can not access both sides. The only use for a stretch measurement on a head stud is to determine if it has been over torqued. But this is only possible if you have previously measured its length before installation. The torque specification of the manufacturer is always the primary guideline.

Would this build be capable of 1000whp?

the weak link in this set up for hitting the 1000 hp mark is the crank shaft. it will do it, but the crank will fatigue rapidly and bend or crack eventually.
