First time I've seen the video. Ray Stevens was terrific in an age no longer seen. It's hard to imagine any of his comedic songs playing on the radio today. Their loss.

The month of May 1974 was a special time for "The Streak". It hit #1 on May 18, 1974 for a 3 week stay and went on to sell 5,000,000 copies. It was the #1 novelty song of the entire decade and was among the Top-10 songs of the year in 1974. It reached #1 in Canada and the United Kingdom, too, and the Top-5 in Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.

Amazing how well this has aged. A lot of seventies comedy is a little uncomfortable to watch now, and frankly not even that good, but this is still so funny and very well-written. I guess Ray's secret is celebrating his subjects rather than denigrating them; a top bloke, to be sure.
