Guys, this song is old and Classic so of course you may have heard it. This is the Music of my early teenage years. Growing up in the NW, I remember feeling so proud of this Band. Seeing them perform on The Midnight Special and Don Kirshners Rock Concert which were weekend Music shows on late at night. I used to sneak to watch it while everyone else was sleeping. Thanks for checking this Band. They were so Big during the 70s.

Heart is one of those bands that rocks the fuck out. And due to no fault of their own, tends to get lumped in with so much generic fluff that it's almost criminal. I think the universal consensus will be Magic Man, next 🙂

Among fans of classic rock, Heart definitely is remembered and revered. Ask any fan of the genre to name the greatest female rock vocalist ever, and 9 times out of 10 the answer will be "Ann Wilson", while Nancy is criminally underrated as a guitarist. Not only that, but they had great mainstream success in the 80s with songs like "Alone", "These Dreams" (which has Nancy on lead vocals), and "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You", and were mainstays on MTV.

I agree with you guys on your discussion in the beginning of the video, the more wacky stuff gets nowadays, the more I fight for normalcy. I'm only 30, but I feel more and more like a boomer with every day that passes in this new bizarro world. These people think they're taking us in a better direction, but I see nothing but darkness on the horizon if we continue down this path.

Ok, I'm going to try to explain it as best as I can, but it's a tricky subject to really get through to people... Sorry it gets longwinded, my brain is fairly wonky today. Here goes: Not using disorders as slurs probably won't be that bad in the long run. We stopped saying the R word(and, as a horrible consequence, stopped calling out dumbness..) We stopped using gay slurs.. World remains fairly intact. We've always gone more PC because we constantly realize that, oh wow, there's a whole ton of people who get lumped in together and used as slurs. I'm a gen-xer and I used stupid phrases like "you gay bro?" more than plenty of times. We were ignorant of the fact that gay people might not like it, then we found out and then we stopped using gay as an insult/negative descriptor. A phrase like "This computer is gay" doesn't really track today, and that's probably for the better. In some contexts words like crazy are totally fine. That party was crazy, this paint job looks crazy, those clouds are crazy.. Where it goes wrong is when people just refer to people as crazy, i.e. "Those white nationalists are crazy" or "the january 6th rioters were all lunatics" or "You have to be crazy to commit [insert horrific acts]" In these cases "craziness" gets blamed. That adds stigma to people who suffer from mental illness. The blame for white nationalism is idiocy, but we can't use the R word, and that means all the people who would in 2010 and before be called R-words, they're now all "crazy", cause you can still call people crazy. That means that we crazies have to deal with all the stigma that belongs squarely at the feet of the mentally inept and the hateful and the people with no empathy.. We get blamed for all that in addition to all the crazy stuff we end up doing ourselves... That's a bit much! Gotta start piping down on how that word is thrown around, I think that's the idea. Not to make it "illegal". You can say the N word or use all sorts of horrible slurs all day long, the consequence is a loss of friends, not prison time. You're not censored, you might just not be hanging with the times. Right now, mental illness is constantly used to explain white terrorism. The real reason is idiocy, indoctrination and gullability, but it gets blamed on mental illness, which means that mentally ill people are now somewhat tainted by fricken fascist and white supremacist extremism. That's one effect of using Crazy willy nilly. Mentally ill people have no higher chance of getting sucked into cults than ordinary people, but the dumbs easily get sucked in... And we can't call them dumb, so they're pegged as crazy.... We, the crazies, get all that stigma. Use it responsibly. Don't assume mental illness every time something crazy happens, it might just be someone really dumb.

Addendum.. hehe.. I just want to say that I do not get offended by people using the word. It's in the common vernacular so I know it's not used in any kind of malicious way 99% of the time. You're all good in my book. My book is not the only book, though.

Yes, gentlemen (and I appreciate y'all's respect in your discussions), from all of the info I have read and seen about the intention/lyrics of "Crazy on You" she is singing about losing herself and escaping from some of the trials, tribulations and upset of the world in her desire to go crazy (in the bedroom sense) on her lover. Given the amount of radio play this song has, I'd be very surprised that even sub-consciously you haven't heard even that guitar riff! Indeed, an absolute classic of the 70's! Their whole debut album, Dreamboat Annie, is fire. Title track (more of a folksy ballad), Magic Man (another rocker), White Lightning and Wine, Soul Of The Sea...it's all worth a listen! For further proof of Ann & Nancy's (and the whole band's) talent, there is a song off of Little Queen (which had Barracuda) called Sylvan Song/Dream of the Archer that is a must listen. Ann's voice is ethereal, and Nancy's acoustic guitar is superb! They have so many hits to check, you can be going 'crazy' on Heart for some time!

Ah yes Heart, Ann Wilson is probably one of the top female vocalists in Rock. Started out as a folk/hard rock band in the 70s and were pretty successful, they transitioned into pop/glam rock and had a resurgence in the mid-80s with their power ballads (and self-admitted they sold out for the money). Still their pop power ballad songs (though mostly written by other people) were still pretty big hits in the 80s. Right now each sister is doing their own thing but us Heart fans are hoping they'll reunite next year for their 50th anniversary.

Heart has been considered the female Led Zeppelin, which is a fair comparison. Like when Ann hits the high notes, it easy to hear Robert Plant hit those notes as well. Dog & Butterfly, Straight On, Alone, Never, just to name a few. The closest singer that hits those Ann Wilson/Pat Benetar style vocals would probably be Lzzy Hale from Halestorm. Check them out some more.

I vividly remember my dad putting this vinyl on his turntable. My sister and I would grab tennis rackets and golf I'mclubs and pretend we were Ann and Nancy! I came out of womb listening to Heart. They're absolutely incredible. I love and listen to them to this day. Even my 18 year old son loves them. I'm buying him some records for Christmas and this will be one of them ❤️

Hi, just discovered y’all recently and I love your channel, and you’re approach to music! I guarantee you, no one who cares about the use of the word “crazy” cares about it in this context… anyone who says otherwise is trying to make the movement look bad. It’s not about outlawing words, we just want you to think about the words you choose. When you call something crazy, you’re comparing it to marginalized people who are suffering. Another example I learned: if you’re calling someone wyte trash, are you saying that trash is automatically black?

Of course you've heard this; still part of the soundtrack of our lives. Over 45 years ago and still everybody knows this; that's classic rock in a nutshell!

They can both play guitar although Nancy is better known as a guitarist. They both also play piano. They are both excellent singers.

If you want a great gen x moment, check out Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister addressing Congress about music censorship. He blew them out of the water! Edit: I'm not sure that Dee is gen x, but it was a huge moment for our generation.

Check the lyrics again -- very deep for a very young songwriter. The basic vibe is "The world is going crazy and we're all totally stressed out and my coping mechanism is to take you to bed and GO CRAZY ON YOU."

*Magic Man* next! "Crazy On You" is the definition of _'70s Banger._ The guy next door in college had Heart's "Dreamboat Annie" and "Little Queen", they were always welcome played loud on our corridor. An under appreciated female rock singer is _Sass Jordan,_ for example _"High Road Easy"_ kzread.info/dash/bejne/n62MvLV6gcLbnrw.html Sass Jordan is Canadian, which might partly explain why she is so under appreciated. Please do a reaction to her. Best Wishes Guys. ☮

Crazy on you = Innuendo The second verse kind of lays that out, it’s all coded innuendo though… Because you couldn’t just come out and say it directly like today. But I actually prefer that, as it makes for more creative lyrics and wordplay in songs, when you can’t come out and say it bluntly.
