@@bwcbiz - This video starts already about a third of the way into "Silver Wheels". While Nancy played this in concert for some time, it didn't make it into an album until 2 years after this concert - as the 3rd track in 1980's Bébé le Strange album. Then, it kicks into the part that is on the Dreamboat Annie album, although on the original Mushroom Records vinyl release, this was still tracked as part of the song "Dreamboat Annie (Fantasy Child)". In this video, the "Fantasy Child" interlude starts when the "Crazy On You" title pops up on screen. Now, right at the 4 minute mark on this video, Nancy switches into the opening riff and second riff of "Hijinx", from the Dog and Butterfly album released in '78 - same year of this concert. Then back to the "Fantasy Child" interlude at about 4:45. Then, the real start of "Crazy On You" when Nancy stops, tosses the thumb pick she had been using, and takes a regular pick off the mic stand. In various concerts, she switches up not only the parts she plays, but also where she pulls that regular pick from after always tossing the thumb pick at that change point. In one concert, she pulled the pick from her bra strap just below her shoulder. Another time she pulls it from behind her ear. She's made it part of the show.

Gotta check out "These Dreams" next. Originally presented to Stevie Nicks, she turned it down, and so it was presented to Heart. They sang it in memory of a fan of theirs who had cancer. Nancy Wilson took the lead vocal, and it went to #1 in 1986.

Heart had so many great songs that were in the top 40, Magic Man came out in 1975, Crazy On You came out in '76, Barracuda came out in '77...but it wasn't until 1986 that they would have their first #1 Hit song and it was the song "These Dreams" sang by Nancy, NOT Anne. Many people forget that Nancy has a great voice as well. Now, Yes, Ann has the most dynamic voice between the two, and the following year in 1987 they would have their 2nd and final #1 Hit song, "Alone" with Ann singing. So they had two #1 hit songs and each sister got to sing one of them...I love it. Great Job as always young lady. Love your channel.

Ann Wilson's range and use of technique is crazy! She is a mezzo, but she can easily stay in mixed voice up to nearly C6, head voice of E6, and what nearly sounds like Strohbass down to a solid C3. Most versatile female singer I can think of.

This is a great rock band that started in the 70's. Ann Wilson has one of the most powerful female voices. And her sister Nancy can play a mean guitar. They have had so many great hits such as "Barracuda", "Magic Man", "What About Love", "Never", "Dog & Butterfly", "These Dreams", "Alone" etc. In 2012 Ann & Nancy performed at the Kennedy Center Honors in a tribute to Led Zeppelin doing their classic song "Stairway To Heaven".

Jennifer, your excellent analyses very nicely complement what I describe in the rest of my comment. Working from my memory, a very dangerous thing to do, Rick Beato includes Nancy's guitar playing in his list of the 20 best acoustic guitar introductions (number 14, think), but more importantly, he declined to play it himself, instead using a video clip (this performance, I think) because he didn't feel that he could do it justice. Also, Fil, on his YT channel "Wings of Pegasus", spent time showing Ann's expert use of the particular type of microphone that she used. All in all, Heart's epic performances inspired some epic reactions, including yours. Thank you.

I can give you some other "Heart" songs that will blow your mind. Heart as a band, is so good together, and have a mega catalog that is insanely good. It'll keep you busy for a long time.❤I'll give you some of my favorites that not too many people are doing yet (I guess they don't know about them yet). I'm just gonna list them here. One recommendation is the studio album "Dog and Butterfly" has a live version of #1 on it. It sounds a lot better than the actual live concert version. 1) Cook with Fire (not about cooking)😅 2)Sing Child (not about children singing) 3)Love Alive (so good) 4)White Lightning and Wine 5)Barracuda (live from this concert) 6)Dog and Butterfly 7)Mistral Wind This is a good start for you. You'll love them. ❤ They have about 400 more.😊I'll subscribe if you read this and reply.

Hello Jennifer... My name is Brian from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, USA...Loved the reaction to Heart's song/video 'Crazy On You'. Yes Ann Wilson could sing her butt off while her sister Nancy Wilson jammed on the guitar... However, if you really want to hear an amazing vocalist then you have to watch Iron Maiden's video for the song 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' 1982 Live from Hammersmith. Singer Bruce Dickinson's voice is considered to be operatic by many people. So if you have not done them already then this video should be your first introduction to Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson's voice, this is back when Bruce's voice was in its prime. If you do not react to this video then i really think you are missing out on the best singing voice in rock ever. There is a good reason why in my opinion i think every other rock singer secretly wishes they could sing like 'Bruce Dickinson'. Also Bruce can hold a note longer than any other singer, his vocal range is unmatched along with his amazing long vibratos. So i really think you should consider doing a reaction to the 1985 Live from Hammersmith video for "Hallowed Be Thy Name", which is about a man sitting on death row being sent to the gallows and looking back on his life. **Pay Attention To The Long Note In Beginning Of Song, And The 2 Long Notes At End Of Song**...Pretty much all of Iron Maiden's songs are about an important event that has happened in history, so it is almost like having a history lesson in every song. So Thank You Jennifer... ~Brian~ White Bear Lake, Minnesota.. 😁 🤘🤘 (click link below) kzread.info/dash/bejne/aaqElMp_drmbZ6g.html&feature=share

Double checked!! You are one of my first subscriptions when I discovered reactions and reactors! So... HEART??? It was my senior year ('76) when this album came out!! I was pleasantly surprised to see you reacting to this. I hadn't heard this live version before. As always, GREAT reaction!!

People often say that Ann Wilson is the greatest female rock singer of all time, and then I end up having to correct them. She may very well be the greatest rock singer of all time regardless of gender.

I am so sorry Jennifer. I am now subscribed. Evidence of my misdeed: I did NOT know your walls have become Wood Tone. It is very lovely and reminds me of my grandmothers 1950's basement bar. -Sincerely New Subscriber

Enjoyed your reaction. Even though Ann & Nancy Wilson are core members of Heart, they are not founding members. Lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen are Heart's founding members. They founded Heart in 1967 and hired Ann in 1970 and Ann brought in Nancy in 1974.

Barracuda and Magic Man are my favorites. They’re high school to me when life was sweeter, simpler, and just plain fun. The old phrase “you don’t know what you got until it’s gone” applies here. Ah, if only you could have a do over. Well you can’t, but there’s always next time around. Here’s to next time around people 👍🤘🎸😁!!!!

When this song broke on radio I was lucky enough to see them at a bar in Canton, Ohio. A real hole of a place.. they were dazzling. The vocals bounced off the walls.

Heart is from Seattle Washington. There is a subtle west coast accent in Ann's voice (that doesn't have the California stupidity factor). If it were any stronger it might even sound Canadian. She also has the vocal chord strength of a trained flute player.

I was seriously worried that Ann and Nancy were going Simon and Garfunkel. They had been touring separately this year. Thankfully, they performed together in Seattle on New Year's Eve. And again at an outdoor Hockey game the next day.

if you want to check out some hard rock and metal vocalists i would highly recommend queensryche take hold of the flame live in tokyo 1984,judas priest victim of changes live at us festival 1983. both of the singers in these 2 bands are amazing- rob halford(priest) and geoff tate(queensryche)
