This performance gets to me every time I watch someone react to it, it is so strong, so emotional. This song is originaly a rapsong which he got only 24 h to rearrange how he wanted... he flipped the song completely, and made it almost entirely into a new song. I will say a completly new song, but he kept the core of the song. He said that it was very hard to perform, so much to think about, the rythm, the acting, the feelings, the speaking in the poetic maner, the piano... etc. When someone says that Hua doesn't write his own lyrics, it may sound like he is not able or that he somehow is lacking, which we know is miles away from the truth. When Hua composes his music, it is always lyricless, but he has a really clear idea about both what the song is about and how it should sound at every turn, open vovel or closed. And by knowing this he makes it very hard for those who writes the lyrics. There usually are many writers, and he picks the one he likes the best, but for the poor lyricist it doesn't stop there... they often have to re-write it many many times before he is finaly satisfied. He composes or rearange songs, always to sound like entirely new songs. He has composed 100s of song that he say is very good, but he wont finish, just because he doesn't feel like it, he is over it. So which song makes it or not all depends on when he he composes it. One much known example is the unfinished song 'candles', there is a whole story there... on his concert in 2017 he played it from his mobil phone, and it shows how he works. it is such a beautiful song, but he will never finish it. We all want him to finish it, but he is pretty clear that it will never happen. You should react to it. It shows how he works and how loved he is by his fans dince it feels like a sacred moment, the atmosphere is almost palpable. He used to rearrange many songs, but mainly in the shows. Hua does write his own songs, earlier days in some singing competition like Singer 2018. Now he often releases his new songs in his concert.

His performance is so emotional and personal, it's as if he was singing about his own painful experience!!

so he writes all the music to his songs. he will go days without sleep or food because he's in a groove with music writing. his lyrics though are written by someone else. he tells them what to write about and gives feedback til he likes it. he's also amazing at rearranging songs. this one is originally a rap. not his, its a cover. He did have a tough childhood though so his emotions are real, just drawing from something else.

Just love how he arranged this song... Imagine usually he turns a slower song into rap and now he turn a rap song into a story telling and some touching singing. Many listeners were abused themselves, so the silence at the end of his performance reflect how deep everyone were inside themselves. He is amazing, Huamazing! Thank you very much!

Every time when I watch this performance, I could not control my tears.... T_T I feel like telling Hua Hua please stop and give him a big hug.... he is indeed a great great artist and his performance touches our hearts! Although he is not the original singer of this song, his rearrangement has completely turned this into a new song which is more emotional than the original one. Love him!!! Hua actually composes most his songs. The performances you’ve watched are mostly from shows that require singers do covers of other singers songs. That’s why he rearranged lots of songs on the shows. If you watch his concerts you’ll hear his originals. He’s an amazing composer.

HuaHua doesn't write lyrics but he does compose a lot of his songs, like "Here we are". He was on two major music TV shows, "the Next", which was all about rearrangement. A song or a piece of music would be chosen for him and he had 24hrs to rearrange it and perform on stage. The songs he performed at that show include Heaven, Alishan Girl, Dad I'm Home and so on. The other show is Singer 2018, where he can only sing two original songs, which were " Equeal to Heaven" and "I don't care", the rest of the songs had to be the rearranges.

Hua Hua really touches my heart deeply. His emotion is super strong. Speechless.

He's a true performer. With his emotional performance, I still bursted into tears after watching this dozens of times.

Some people can't handle many of his performances because it's so deep and emotional. Even though some are really dark, I can't help watching them repeatedly because of his artistic interpretation. His genius is so admirable. Each time I see them again, I pick up on so many of his intricate musical and vocal techniques. Best stage performer!

Hua hua is an amazing composer and arranger, pouring love and life into old songs. He is a genius when it gets to expressing emotion in his songs and often gets me to tears. Also let's not forget that this song is originally from Jay Chou that got released around 2006. While it was an amazing lingering pop song at that moment, Hua hua again succeeded in transforming it into a story, a tear triggering one.

The reason why many performances you find on shows like this one ('The Next') and 'Singer 2018' are not his own is because of the format of those shows. In 'The Next', he got to perform which songs the challengers picked for him; in 'Singer 2018', he was only allowed to perform his own song twice. If you want to find more of his original works, check out his Mars Concerts' performances. There's one song I really want to recommend, 'Giant Deer'. I would stick to the audio version, for the imagery in the melody and the lyrics of this song is rich enough. actually he won't approve the lyrics before changing them several times, and he also suggests the script, he's a perfectionist, you should watch him train the chorus for Nunchucks, he wasn't happy with their 30th try, if I remember well.

That was a great comparison...atmosphere is one of my favs and he brings that emotion into his rap, just like hua with these deep songs.

At first Chenyu said it wasn't his story, he just related to many people who went through domestic violence. Later, Hua Chenyu said his dad wasn't good at all to his mom or himself. After years, they divorced. He looked up for his dad and they reconciled. His dad has another family and he has a 4 y.o. half-sister he loves much. Hua Chenyu didn't give details of the familiar problems he had, but we can guess.

He writes his own songs at lot and all the time but because this TV show just creat this challenge him to rearrange those old songs in 24 hours
