Hey, just wanted to pop in and say some sweet nothings to validate your existence on the internet. Man, where do I start with you.. For starters my dude you possibly have some of the funniest writing for comedy during your reviews and tier lists and the amount of laughs you've given me is staggering and I have to applaud you for the effort you put in. The editing is awesome and pleasant to the eyes and it meshes perfectly with your comedy and you can see the work put in to make the two intermingle so well and it's impressive to say the least. I could go on for a bit but I'll end it with the sheer amount of good recommendations I've received while watching your videos is incredible, you have impeccable taste though I may be a little biased because my favorite anime of all time full stop is Re:Zero, without splurging why because I'd be typing all day but yeah. Spring 2023 season was just WILD! So many S-tier unique shows aired that season! Vinland Saga S2, Oshi no Ko, Heavenly Delusion, etc. Still my absolute favorite anime season of the year. Also, had a few bad days so the jokes you made Echidnut did made me feel better. Don't stop making quality content (specially ranking vids) like this 👍

You guys can be but, I'm not down bad to watch these clown shows most of them are shitty side anime when the real shows come out, like OPM and frieren.

Man! Echidnut really was on fire on this one! I can see just how much time he spent on each joke and how much he enjoyed writing those! This video is probably Echidnut's Greatest. The references on Zom 100 was amazing and funny, whole Mushoku Tensei section was filled with puns and clever pauses to make you understand the joke all while explaining the anime very well! Seriously, if you miss all the jokes and watch that part, it's still very good, credits the "My Unique Skill makes me OP" section for making the ranking more interesting than the actual anime, Oshi no Ko transition was really good, War Thunder Transition was amazing as well, both times! And Liar Liar joke was very good as well. I won't be surprised if I missed some clever jokes here. I just thought these deserved some extra praises. And, all while, Keeping Echidnut's signature, which is, the list was phenomenal! Almost every anime got a very deserving Ranking. I am so glad "Dangers in my Heart" got the attention it deserved! It's quite good. And it's so Nice to see Oshi No Ko not getting hated for being popular, also not over hyped over only one moment of the anime. The entire Anime was good, not just one episode. Truely amazing ranking, almost like the Ranking of the Kings. And amazing Jokes along with it. Loved it!

@@alexanderruchkov8440 Don't worry, everyone has different tastes. It's first of all an Isekai, and Slime is more likable if you watch something casually. Slime is more flashy compared to Mushoku. Mushoku is like more mature. I can understand why people don't like it. And a lot of people hate Rudeus (MC) so it's fine. Just like I am one person who actually liked Rudeus from the beginning. He is flawed, sure. But, I found many other good qualities about him and I liked his story, character development and stuff within the first 4 episodes. But I can understand why others don't like him.

20:14 For Tengoku: I think the anime overlaying it with Mimihime talking about how beautiful the world is plus them not actually showing the scene unlike some other series, made it stomachable for me. I also interpreted it as Kiruko bottling it all inside so they can continue Maru's journey and to feel needed. Her simply saying that she "can't be depressed forever" ≠ actually and legitimately not being depressed and forgetting it entirely. Their strange circumstances in this abnormal world should also be taken into account. It would be horrible if it isn't addressed by the end of the series but I severely doubt that scenario as I've read the manga. I don't think it's entirely accurate to say that Kiruko just "shrugged it off" - if anything, I found the attitude more than anything to be a coping mechanism for how their entire image of Robin was basically ripped to shreds (represented by ripping the photograph), and also the idea that denial is, sad as it is, a reality that some sexual assault victims do in order to try and put the moment out of mind. I've dated a sexual assault victim before, and she was very blunt about how it took her a long time to even admit what had happened to her. As far as Tengoku Daimakyou is concerned, it's also coupled with the continued inner tumult and confusion concerning the gender dysphoria (which Robin deliberately took advantage of), and the swap of how even though Kiruko is Maru's bodyguard, Maru seems to be more-proactively protecting Kiruko as opposed to the other way around. There's also the idea that, considering that Maru was one step away from killing Robin and Kiruko does not want Maru to become a killer (paralleling the conversation they had after helping Usami kill the woman), it could also be interpreted as their way of trying to calm Maru down as well. Since the moment also happened at the end of the season, it means that any opportunity to see the fallout from it within Kiruko is not seen, complicated by the juggling act the show has to do with the nursery story. Whether the material actually does continue it or not remains to be seen. The manga is also still ongoing at the time of this writing, so even now, any fallout has probably yet to occur. That doesn't mean it'll be a non-issue in the story (especially considering Maru's resolve to kill Robin if they ever meet again), but the lack of immediate resolution or overt-signaling of concrete resolution or tumult can be a frustration for sure.

I have high hopes that your theory is correct and Kirukos depression will be addressed later in the story. That's why I was a bit disappointed that the series only landed in A tier, but his reaction is understandable and very similar to mine at first.

I feel like it’s kinda sad that a lot of people miss the action packed Vinland Saga when Thorfinn’s whole journey is about ending war.

And what I liked the most is that you mentioned the stupidity of Heavenly Delusions, one episode "grape" happens and the next is like: what lovely weather, nothing of importance happened. I loved that anime so much until that scene and then after that's what the author gives us? Like wtf?

I think we don't have enough to really interpret it as that. trauma works in many ways, to varying degrees of impact. It is very possible that the amount of trauma that this character has had in their past has caused them to feel numb to it, locking it away and putting up a farce. I think that it's fine to make something like this, and it allows for a more complex character. That is, if they actually advance on the subject of trauma in the second season, which I think they will considering the first season.

This is my first time on your channel and What kept me to the end of this video was the interesting description. Kudos🎉

99% of the time the Light Novel will always surpass the anime adaptation in terms of content or execution of it, but Mushoku Tensei really ends up in that other 1% at some points which is insane.

i just want to say something. i have been watching youtube for almost 15 years now. some would call me an expert. I have only commented on maybet 15 or so videos in my life and I wanted the 16th one to be urs. Firstly, I really appreciate these tier list videos that you do. You have no idea how helpful they are in finding good anime within seconds and also staying away from bad ones. Other youtubers like to simply talk about the anime which is good, but it doesnt really help when trying to watch something that is good. Came just to see what you would say about Vinland Saga as it's my reintroduction into anime. Haven't watched anime since the old vhs days in the 90's. I was completely blown away by Vinland Saga just like your jokes are blowing me away. This is a gem of a channel!

I loved this, not only did i find a couple new anime to check out I got to laugh in the mix of it of course I had to sub because it. Great work!

When people say that Kiruko got over it too quickly it shows how little most people understand about trauma ... I will recommend watching Psyculturists' psychological analysis on the series or at least the last 2 episodes, since he's a professional therapist and has actual knowledge and experience about the matter.

@@LadyHermes denial or imo in this case, no time to fully process the whole thing, they're in a post apocalyptic world, they usually have food and water for a couple of days on them, they have to keep moving, non stop.

Heaven Delusional was actually god tier there with how the main protagonist respond to it. Maru took the highway route to downplay it instead of traumatized it by nursing the trauma and comfort Kiriko. All he said in the last was enough that not care who Kiriko actually was but he likes what she is at present state. This animate always focus on what happened and how people deal with the situation which was masterfully done. Wish it was more popular given how it laid down the hints all over the story. Definitely god tier there

plus, they live in a post apocalyptic hellscape filled with man-eating weird science monsters. If there isn't a roadmap/rulebook for how each person is supposed to deal with their traumas in our world, we definitely shouldn't impose rules for how to do it in theirs.

Wow, probably didn't watch the same show. Despite beeing mostly episodic with a background narrative and "hints", I found the show very predictible and not subtle or mature on the themes they were trying to address. It had some good moments, but so many things just seem like bad writing (possibily inherited from the source material, I don't know). Maybe I had too high expectations, as it was advertised to me as a better promised neverland, which couldn't be further from the truth : they just have too little in common for such a comparison.

Made it to the end, everything is on point. Vinland saga is indeed a masterpiece i wasnt expecting. The juxtaposition of strength through peace and strength through force that evolved with character development was epic 🤯

I don't know about the manga, but after episode 3, I kept asking myself is the girl totally degenerate because I couldn't understand how many times you can forget your glasses. As a matter of fact, the whole anime was about her missing glasses and the plot never changes.

Its god tier. Bungou Stray dogs season 5 is literally peak. I watch almost every anime this season and i can safely say that Bungo Stray Dogs is the BEST ANIME this season. It even beats jujutsu kaisen.

I tried watching bingo stray dogs season 3 and I couldn’t get pass the beginning and I have no reason why because the detective guy is one of my favorites in the show but that whole beginning is slow asf

A note about my happy marriage - 1. Kudo is kind of rude to her at first because he wants to scare off girls who are just there for his wealth. 2. Her family doesn't try to get her away from kudo because she's vibing with it, she is descended from an ancient blood line of immense magical power. Her father promised his "Daughter" to another noble family, then instead of giving her, gave the younger daughter. So now the other noble family is pissed, and kidnap her so she can be a wife to his son (Who's actually a great guy) and they can merge bloodlines. Her stepmother and halfsister are the ones trying to get her to go with the original family instead of Kudo because Kudo is much higher status than the other nobles son, and the stepmother wants her sister to marry him instead.

Hey Echidnut, you should make a tier list for anime from 2,3 and 4 years ago. Cause I would like to see your tier list for them.

Heavenly Delusion definitely deserves to be in "God" tier, the reason they didn't have the main character have any trauma at the end is a natural response. During the whole anime, when something bad happens or a tragic death occurs (example being the 2 face sliced man eater) the characters move on quickly. This is because they were raised in a harsh apocalyptic setting, where there are no set morals or government ruling, the best way to survive is to adapt and move on. It would also be off character for Kiruko to settle on the past, and keep grieving. If you really think about it, she was manipulated during 2 days, experiencing severe psychological damage. The way she learns to cope is to not dwell on traumatic events, similar to how real life victims would respond.

In both episode 12 and 13, she didn't know who she was, and was manipulated by Robin in episode 12, forcing the idea that she is Kiriko. She was having a breakdown because of this crisis, there's a whole heartfelt segment in episode 13 talking about it, to be specific 16:56. There's only one line that actually mentions Maru, and it's when she's about to get rescued (for your information, it's 2-3 seconds long). This is just a set up for Maru to open the door for the plot to flow well, to be more appealing and evoking to the audience - making us care for both Maru and Haruki more. I wouldn't call that a "freaks the fuck out" moment, it's just directing one point to another.

​@@JunJ123 So are you saying after suffering severe wounds, losing all your limb then having your brain transplanted into your sister - and after that you spent YEARS trying to find the man who operated on you and the man you TRUSTED the most, the man proceeds to then r*pe you for 2 days... you still would not have ANY trauma? Putting it as "he was just in his sister's body" is really downplaying the situation since he was experiencing everything as well. You do realise it's both a physical and MENTAL assault?

Mushoku tensei is a very good anime everything is perfect and I really hope that more episodes are comming as fast as possible, i highly recommend it.
