Just wanted to comment on the Rick vs The Doctor section, the reason why the portal is connected to his back and why Rick tried to go through it is cause The Doctor hacked it. Rick has no idea where the portal would go whereas The Doctor either hacked it so it'd go to his back OR the gun simply fired its last used coordinates since it broke. The Doctor basically tricked Rick into a lose-lose scenario where no matter what he did he would lose since he had no means of escape. The Time Lord planned for everything to go his way, which I found brilliant.

My inly problem is that the portals don't last that long in the show but meh

You GOT it with Dimitri, Nem! He is my favorite Three Houses character but he is such a cringe loser in the way that he speaks during his angst phase. I think it really shows how he wasn’t meant to always act that way and how out of place it really felt for him in game compared to the role he took on at the end of his story. He wanted to pursue vengeance with his strength but as a way to cope since he knew no other way. The three versions of Dimitri are all great, from the dorky prince to Vengeful Boar and to a Hero King. His whole story is really tied to how he holds onto his emotions and his self righteous importance to his past. And it’s those first two stages that he really struggles with his true identity which leads to his dorky or cringey lines, which is my favorite to experience. (Note: I know this wasn’t a gutsmitri review but I got very happy to see them and how you talked about it, thank you)

I loved the DB itself, and i am glad that Nem did talk about it here. Dimitri first impression is that he is an generic boring lord, suddenly turning into an crazed beast after the time skip. But when you play his route you can see from the start that small things seem off with him. For lots of people he went from meh to favorite during his route i think. Because it all fits together great, but only during his route, and the edgy phase is still a little much

Yeah, honestly a shame. I am not a big fan of Transformers (loved it as a kid, but haven't fully watched any series back then, the only show that I really saw is Transformers: Prime, watched it during my teenage years, wasn't bad) but I really loved the way they protrayed both Frieza and Megatron in this episode. Honestly? To me, Frieza vs. Megatron might be my favourite episode of this entire season, which is extremely subjective, but I can't help but like it. I totally understand Nem here though, harassment and bullying online is awful at times. If only the communities weren't as toxic as they are.

I don’t blame him tho. It’s clear this battle is one where he is focused on how one character is portrayed, and said character means a lot to him. If a character I was really into was on Death Battle, I would hope they would be treated with respect and not fight “this character featuring this character” and all that.

⁠@@TheDJBallonzI don’t know much about about Megatron, so forgive me if I’m wrong on this, but I feel like with how Nemesis described him and how his Death Battle analysis described him, the fight seemed to have represented him very well. He fights for his planet that he cares a lot for and would rather have it been burned to ashes than be given to a dictator. Most of the attack he lands also comes from his intelligence and combat skills rather than just overpowering his opponent like Frieza did with his hits, and his speech at the end about Frieza being alone feels like something he would say

A bit overrated imo

As soon as I saw that there were 15 spots, I had to see where my baby episode was. The Guts vs Dimitri placement put a smile on my face, and believe it or not a more critical angle didn’t make me upset and defensive. I’m glad it even got top 5. Also, from a Fire Emblem fan, I am very sorry that you weren’t ready for the accurate Dimitri dialogue, he’s just a cutie patootie like that before he grows up.

Normally, if a character I like so much and think they would win lost the fight, I would start rating that episode as -5 points but BillCord was too perfect to not give a 10/10. And I love how they even point out that Discord will reform soon, just not soon enough to continue fighting.

As someone who has Discord as one of their favorite characters and thought he would win, I actually wouldn’t want the ending of that fight changed. I just felt it was so perfect and in character while telling an amazing story. There’s a reason why it’s my favorite Death Battle of all time.

The problem is that for some reason they give the crossover to Unicron but not to Discord and that's like, come on with that Discord would have won. But even then is still the best episode of the show

How I interpreted Stitch surviving despite the conclusion saying he wasn't tough enough was that, as the lightning sparking indicates, he's in his super-mode, presumably boosting his durability enough to live through it. And the fact that, even in that, it was still both a big enough hit to permanently maim him and big enough to send him right out of his super-mode sells it.

The problem with Death Battle's cosmic fights like Galactus vs Unicron, Phoenix Vs Raven, Vegito Vs Gogita, Thanos Vs Dark Side, Martian Manhunter Vs Sliver Surfer, etc, etc, etc is that they are all just punching, lasers and throwing planets at each other while seeing no visible damage on either combatants until the end. And they often have basically the same power sets.

This was definitely the best season, IT'S SO GOOD! So many 10/10's, so much episodes that are contenders for my favorite episode OF ALL TIME, the worst episode is a 6/10 (Raven vs Phoenix) but even then you can see that it's very high quality and if this season is anything to go by, then I'm very much looking forward to season 11! That sponsor segment was really funny btw

This season was utterly fantastic from start to finish. Every single episode had at least one memorable thing about it. And I mean that in a good way. I’m very excited to see what next season has to offer. Also, that makes 5 times this season that a character that I have an emotional attachment to has shown up this season. Those being Darth Vader, Bill Cipher, Megatron, Superman, and Unicron, as well as having me rethink my top 10 THRICE, with BillCord in 2nd, ScooUrage in 5th, and SuperGoku in 8th. yeah dimitri is a dork. I think that makes his character even better tbh, he goes from a very dorky and well meaning person to a murder hobo haunted by voices of his loved ones to the point revenge is the only thing keeping him tied to the world of the living.

I’m so glad this season reached my-and many other people’s-expectations in terms of quality. My outright favorite season thus far despite the fairly minor hiccups it may have had, and I wish the team the best of luck with the next season! Edit: Also, I completely understand and relate to the Frieza VS Megatron issue. I’ve always and still hate the matchup. Both have better opponents, and despite the episode being great, I still can’t over the fact that it actually happened let alone Goku VS Superman 3. It is what it is, I guess…

These last few years have been people saying that the current season of Death Battle is the best season of the show and I hope season 11 continues that trend

Adding Moro to the sprite team was the single best decision they’ve ever made

I like how in Scooby vs Courage's section everything you said it doesn't have Billcord has in spades.

I respect not watching Frieza vs Megatron given everything, I feel a similar way about the theoretical future where they do Neo vs Toga, but Final Formers is at least worth a listen though I think. Your coverage of everything else here was enjoyable, and I'm really happy hearing how much you loved this season. Really looking forward to seeing more from you in the future. But, yeah. Megatron's analysis feels weird with how they choose to very selectively only composite G1 Cartoon and IDW. The fight looks fantastic and I think it has really good choreography for their power sets. But, yeah, it is very Dragon Ball esc in places. The interactions after their first lines are really good though. Versus/Analysis side, it never really gives anything that makes it feel like there's a chance of Megatron standing any sort of chance with their feats. The only thing like that is the Anti-Matter, which is the only thing people really take away from Megatron's analysis, which also undercuts most of Megatron's major story beats with a joke immediately after. Post analysis also feels slightly off, mainly because of how they argue that Frieza is too fast for it to cover his entire body, even though he only survived being cut in half because Goku gave him energy, and they put a bit of emphasis on Megatron's Panic Bubble, the thing that could hold Frieza in place. It just feels off how they give Megatron literally every tool to win and place emphasis on those tools, with the main point for Feieza winning going against those tolls. Like, I agree with the result and the episode is a definite banger to me, but the post analysis and both fanbases reactions to the result were annoying. TF fans acted how Dragon Ball fans usually do and the Dragon Ball fans were annoyingly smug about it. Like, annoying to the point where I was looking forward to Goku going 0-3 exclusively to shut them up despite how much I like Goku.

Even being a bigger fan of Dragon Ball, and liking Goku a hell of a lot more, I don’t mind that he lost. I just wanted to see UI Goku go up against Superman. They nailed that part, so I’m happy.

The lack of expressions in Guts face throughout the entire fight made me incapable of truly appreciate it (like, that scene where he dies standing would be so much more emotional if his face didn't look exactly the same as when he was alive). 20:25 During the scene where the Doctor is attacked by multiple Ricks, one of them grabs the Portal Gun from his hands [which the Doctor took when he and the original Rick were surrounded by Weeping Angels]. I wanna imagine that during the shots where the Doctor runs from the group of Ricks and then rounds a corner in the TARDIS, the Rick that had the Portal Gun shot a portal onto the Doctor's back and he just didn't happen to notice during the chase. I might be wrong, but that's just my hunch on why there was a portal there.

I mean yeah death battle can be fun but this season is just wow. Scooby vs Courage, Bill vs Discord, and most surprisingly Goku vs Superman round 3 were all spectacular and easily my favorites but even other matches ate fun like Guts vs Dametri with that cool as hell ending of him defending Guts from demons after he died. And so many more! I think my favorite part is all the ending types. From an ending where a character died but fucked over the other person, to an ending with two characters as friends even in death, to an ending just going with a tie but in a postive way. It made every battle so interesting and gave so many possibilities for matchups to conclude!

The former is one of the most gorgeous pieces of internet animation of all time, but only comes down to two bricks punching and shooting each other While the latter looks like a PS3 game, but in both analysis and fight they give us absolutely EVERYTHING we could have expected and more

The irony about Phoenix clone thing is that she does not do this. Even if we assume they are just illusions, Jean just does not use that. I still love it as a Phoenix fan, but yeah. It does appear they didn’t really know what to do with this one. While my bias chooses Phoenix, I think the one I liked in quality was Bill Cipher vs Discord. Two franchises I don’t have any care for, but you can at least see the passion here.

Pheonix using an ability she doesn't normally use doesn't really bug me (unless using that specific ability betrays one of her character traits, which I doubt is the case here). Characters using stuff they don't get to use very often in their source material is part of the appeal of vs to me. The issue for me is that this ability was just randomly thrown in the fight with no attempt to do something creative with it. In fact, this ability led to the least visually appealing sequence of the animation with Raven throwing the planet at the clones and the clones just vanishing from existense while standing in this weird curve as well as multiple inconsistent with each other shots as Pheonix gets hit with the planet. In fact, the clone sequence represents a potential issue for the foght potential between reality warpers whose powers can be summed with "I can do anything". Their powers are exactly the same, not to mention that a lot of the time, it feels that writers have a specific list of random commonly accepted as cool superpowers to throw at characters with such powers, cloning being one of them, which results in both characters feeling very similar amd generic in their movesets and having an unnecessary out-of-universe limitation on what can be done with them. Ironically enough, part of the appeal of Gpjo vs Makima was learning about their unique and more specific powers and seeing how they would be utilised. On an unrelated note, in this very season we had 3 red-heads who are insanely OP in their verses, 2/3 of them lost and they shared some of the stiffest animations in the season. They were done dirty. What a coincy.

just thought of something, gojo couldn't have canonically used purple in his domain, if he did the RCT thing, then it would have broken his domain given it's destorying the part of his brain that is responsible for his cursed technique, it's why you didn't see domain amplification users using their CT while fighting Gojo, not even sukuna could do it.

Even still in Unicron could potentially live. In one of the series back in 05 or something transformers cybertron showed that unicron was destroyed in one of the previous series and became a black hole. His goal then was to absorb enough matter and material to reform back into his planet form.

I love how this season i had my least favorite episode at like a low 7/10 which is STILL incredible in my eyes ♡ Even if a fight wasnt gkod, something else carried it for me. Music, analysis, what have you. Hell, I have zero interest in Doctor Who and dropped out of R&M and that one is now a top 10 episode of all of them for me. Definitely a must see season. The next might not be as good but thats fine if you ask me ♡

Idea for vid- Rather or along with a prediction, I challenge you to do a remastered list. A rearrangement of the characters used on death battle into different fights. Ex: Knightmare vs Lich King, M. Bison vs Shang Tsung, Popeye vs Segeta Santoro, ect I tried this myself and had a blast and am planning to do another after season 11. If you’re interested, here are the rules I laid out, hope you have fun. Maybe colab with Biff or Red. (Description: A remaster of death battle where every combat they have used is paired up against a different character with the connections being as different as possible from their previous matchups Rules: All characters can only be used once even if they have been in multiple battles 1 Team battle of four is required, as is 2 pair battles A trilogy, Pentalogy, and Septology Fight must also be listed No same series unless under rule 3 or 1 No outside information will be used, only death battle statements Justine Bieber vs Rebecka Flowers will be included as they have been used and so technically count Each match must be as fair as possible, make sense in general, or have some comedic element if neither of the first two) *On the note about Justin-becka, that’s really only there to provide even numbers. I guess I was personally slammed by Martian Manhunter vs Silver Surfer harder than most people. Objectively the best episode was probably Bill vs discord. But my favorite was Guts vs Dimitri especially the track God's Hand goes so hard.

I didn’t know Killua v Misaka was so low on a lot of people’s ranks cause that one is pretty up there (but that’s mostly just cause I wanted to see Killua in a DB and the music was cool)

Honestly the episode has massive flaws that stand out to me alot, the fight starts way too abruptly, some of the animation is janky and leads to nothing, Killua doesn't use half his kit;etc Yet... Something about it is just... So charming?

Too many episodes this season felt like they tried to personify the coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb meme and the ones that were not were just ok matchups

What something u didn’t expect was killua vs mikusa episode lead to them being shipped seems to be the same for gojo vs makima

I don't know if I'm the only one who's thought this, I've mainly been an outside observer of the vs community, but I think the season would've ended on a much higher note than it already did had Galactus vs Unicron and Goku vs Superman switched places. Here are a couple reasons that come to mind why I think that. 1. Shock. I feel like by the later half of the season, most of the community knew Galactus vs Unicron would be the finale with how much the rest of the season aimed to please. So if Galactus vs Unicron was revealed after Rick vs The Doctor, but still kept the tagline of "#1 requested fight in DB History" it could get people thinking "What could they possibly have to one-up this one?" True that'd make two different seasons with the same finale but it is what it is. 2. The Ending. I found the ending of the Goku vs Superman conclusion to be the best conclusion the show's ever had. The whole part of Wiz reflecting the people I've seen in my own life that wonder why do they just make the characters fight when they're most of the time a lot more than that, only for Boomstick to rebuttal with the simple "Because it's fun" is the perfect message to end the season on in my opinion. I think people should've kept that with them while going onto seasonal break. To come back to season 11 with the whole mindset of "We're here as a community to have fun." I'm still perfectly fine with how the layout of the season ended up being, and I understand pushing Galactus vs Unicron forward 2 weeks could've caused its own myriad of issues but I just enjoy thinking about these things. P.S. Loved the vid Nemesis. Definitely coming back in the future
