From Cairns and done it way before you buddy in my Raptor...just not on KZread lol. Bernie (one of the workers there) is a traditional land owner of Cape Flattery and a good mate of mine. Next time you go there ask for him for a tour and he will show you the actual operation of the mine. Cheers

mate it was bloody beautiful, can't believe I would drive past the turn off heading north chasing the bigger named tracks in the past...so many little hidden Gems up in Cape York you could spend months up there searching around and still not see everything.
You got the life mate, good on you!

Part2! great video. Love the drone shots. After this trip, have you considered how you might cover the tub if the dust/rain/sand gets too much? I'm trying to figure out how to keep the tonneau with a tub rack myself.
@RoundTheFire

Im pretty happy so far with the amount of dust/dirt that gets in the back, I mostly keep things that can get dirty in the back, if not I keep that item/s in a sealed box/bag. Depending on what cover you have for the back you can get the same rack i have to fit on with the roller covers or if you have the canvas style you can have them modified at a canvas place to do up around any bar work that might be in the way.
Cool video, nice drone clips. Did this trip in an overloaded Rodeo 16 years ago, with open diffs and no traction control. Definitely looks easier in places these days. Well done.
Good to see you all get away after that sh*t lock down period, glad you took J-dog with you as well. I didn't know they are exporting our sand, hope they leave some 🙁 Worth the trip for sure, enjoyed watching that one mate 👍

I would have probably been heading home with my tail between my legs if I didn’t have the wrap on. It’s done the job for the most part, still a few sections can no longer self heal and need replacing after only one 3 week trip...🤔 for the money you pay I would have hoped I could have got a fair bit more life out of it

@@RoundTheFire I’m jealous - I love the cape! I got to live at Bamaga for 4 months about 18 years ago at Her Majesty’s convenience - some barracks attached to C Coy, 51 FNQR - some of the best times of my life - cheap drinks, 2 troopy’s to play with and nothing but time. I want to get my family up there one day too 👍🏻

I’ve seriously considered getting back in and joining 51 for that exact same reason. Bloody beautiful country up there. Perfect to take the family up late Aug, still fairly cool at night and enough water to play in 👌🏼🇦🇺🍺

@@Owl566 Dont worry mate, I was only thinking the other day I enlisted 22 years ago! Been out of the game for about 5 years now...every time I think about getting back in I crack a beer, assess my beard, remember my knees and back aren't what they used to be and the carry on living my life haha.
Back again, I mean do you have diff and trans breathers to stop the water ingress into those areas ?
@RoundTheFire
3 жыл бұрын
G’day Graham...funnily enough I read your first comment 6 times before I could see you didn’t add the word breathers...🤔 I don’t have aftermarket breathers installed on this truck. Generally I’m by myself so I’m stopping at every crossing to check depths and think over a recovery plan which gives time for everything to cool down before entering the water. 👍🏻

Is this i ford part you have in the back there? meaning the metal frame in the cargo part where you got all your bags on

The frame is an aftermarket purchase from PPD in Western Australia. It’s called an Oz Roo Rack.

Hey Damo - what were those tyre deflator called? Still rate them?
@RoundTheFire
3 жыл бұрын
Mate they are called “Staun Tyre Deflators” I think they are awesome, little bit of work to get them set up at home if you don’t want to run the factory pre set pressure. I’m not a big fan of using the normal quick deflators that remove the valve stem, leaves too much room for damage of the stem seal.
Do you have diff and a transmission for the creek crossings

If you mean a Diff and Transmission breathers, the Raptor already has them set as high as possible from factory.

Your dog must be born Ford tough
I've developed a phobia driving my raptor on long drives due to the fact that one of the fuel injectors already failed and it might breakdown on me anytime. It's only two yrs old with 22000kms on it. Am not enjoying what a raptor truck should be.

I was just checking as I have viewers from all over the world. I was going to suggest if you were in Australia with how low your kilometres are, you have good grounds to get a new replacement vehicle. Here we have 5 year warranty also a road side assist program that will cover you depending on level of cover. Also I was just checking the kilometres you wrote were correct for 2 years, the trip video you have put this comment on was over 10000ks in just 2.5 weeks. Thank you for your comment 👍🏻
