Appreciate this video! I'm running Penetrating Shot + Traps with Trap Key. Has been very well balanced, I basically play like a melee but happen to have PS with Inner Sight. Shotgun blast spam everything in the traps, get hp back and it's been super smooth so far. On T45 about level 86 currently.

Happy Birthday! I 100% agree with your opinions about each individual core skill. I was expecting a ranking of every possibility you've played so far tho' I did some soft and hard respec so many times!!! Now I'm back to Rain of Arrows but with combo points Rapid Fire. Puncture. Poison and Shadow. Precision passive. But I even tested melee basics, and other passives, including melee oriented ones. I'll probably go back to Victimize for the most balanced ranged rogue ever.

Thorough and explained your opinions. Thx. Extra thought: I run impale/rapid fire/combo points with both poison(elite/boss) and shadow (AOE). Swapping embuement while the other is on cool down is a staggering amount of DPS.

I’m one tricking rogue until we get a paladin or death knight (whatever Blizzard chooses to do) so I like to see how other people build/play theirs I’m currently lv 75 t4 been running nm 35+ dung’s running a pure cold ranger build I made back before beta and it’s been working flawlessly, but as I mentioned before I like see other things for rogue that are valuable come mid-late game. Keep up the good work. I was running pen shot + rapid fire with no ult for a while, it’s actually really nice being able to clear mobs and high prio targets aka bosses efficiently by using them both

First of all happy birthday! Great video as always, can't say I disagree with your list. Think my favourite is definitely the pen shot build atm. Hoping to see a pure rapid fire build aswell or did i miss that one?? Your doing an awesome job with your videos. They are easy to watch, you get to the point and somehow keep them short and packed with usefull information. They have become a daily watch for me. Honestly, you don't HAVE to take Rapid Fire. That skill is more for players who are finding bosses exceedingly hard (likely because they don't have the necessary stat lines). I personally like Pen Shot with or without Rapid Fire! For the replacement, Poison Trap is my favorite option for the crit chance from Trap Mastery & the added CC/damage reduction utility.

Happy Belated birthday! I've been struggling to find a balance between pen and rapid fire with double imbue. I feel like you can get two: AOE, Boss/Elite, or survivability. I usually run with my buddies who are already 100 or close to 100 while I'm at 73 in their nightmare dungeons. I've enjoyed your breakdown and I still feel conflicted, but at least I know I'm not the only one trying to find that golden balance.

maybe this is a weird question to ask but... as someone who wants to level to 100 and kill uber lilith in this "season" (as a final goal, I mean) at lvl 60, what would you recommend? I've been trying different builds, pen shot, twisting blades, barrage, some people told me is best to stick to TB till 70, then swap to pen shot, and at 80 go with barrage, some people told me that barrage is inefficient and I should just go with rapid fire at lvl 80, and some told me that I just need to go with pen shot and call it a day And I'm heavily confused, I had this problem since I started with the rogue, but I REALLY don't know what to play tbh, any tips?

What do you think about a TB&Rapid hybrid build??

Happy birthday Valued! First. Ive already tried your every build ( including items + aspects ) I think every build is almost perfect except penshot. Penshot has less survive between those + its really not okay for single target. But like u said its so fun to play. Besides that i havent try RF but def. i will try it next season. For me Barrage is our best option with good gear. I made some changes with aspects and some of the stats in our gear and it feels awesome. ( %90 your build+gear+aspects %10 my personal ) But i have to say this if anyone wants to try barrage build. For packs of mobs ( little spiders/flies/full group of mobs ) Barrages ricochet is a problem. U have to manage your cooldowns and u have to finish the mobs with shadow imbuement . Otherwise you will spend so much time with them. Its not like penshot that u can literally just explode them. But with sustain + little management of cooldowns barrage is the best option. So the only thing we have to get max shadow imbue + cooldown management and a lil bit positioning i think this is the final build for me. Appreciate that for the videos and effort. And wish you a great day.

I think it just gets 1 shot before it can get rolling. RF is the best for pushing IMO. I really appreciate your input. I like the ‘rapid-pen’ variant but I use poison trap just to play a poison ivy theme. About to try using shadow clone with it. Friend of mine said it’s wrecked for her at level 77.

Yes! Cant hardly wait! rite now Im back to your penetrating build since I got the sacred unique bow from boss field.. it gave 10-20% chance double damage!

Important note with rapid fire: it can be used in builds that let you drop basic skills. It’s easy to make Rapid fire pay for itself.

jcs! Thank you so much for the comment first off :D really appreciate your kind words. So here's my breakdown on the Unique bows: they are cool, and Windforce specifically is really interesting - but sadly Crossbows just deal more damage overall in the end-end game. But, while youre leveling - you can absolutely use a unique bow, especially if it's a DPS increase. Also for the pants (I'm assuming you're talking about the Unique Pants "Teremity") you can use these if you are running the passive called "Siphoning Strikes", because it will consistently give you an overshield if you're attacking close mobs. I hope this helps, if you want any more clarification please let me know and I will respond in the morning when I wake up. :)

The passive of the Bow is not incredible but I got it when I passed world 4 so the diff between sacred and ancestral was huge ! I'll try to catch a good crossbow 😉 Thanks again for the answer 👍

Very similar to my build but I don't use a basic skill. You should give it a try the glyph that restores 12% energy on crit and 15 energy on vulnerable makes RF basically free.

Rogues in higher tier nightmares severely lack any form of def really. Expected to be melted by poison and random explosion death. A lot of the mob damage is straight up bullshit. Hope the devs raise def or nerf some of the mobs.

Yeah it's like near impossible without cheesing the game with some boring mechanics/unique combos.

Love your builds, I'm running rapid/pen hybrid build and its just overall the best builds for me, great single target dps with psn imbue and then pen and shadow for AoE. With just one point invested into shadow I still have level 7 from items. Owning content at lvl 73 and nightmare dungeons around 25-30. What's your view on windforce? I want to make a windforce build ...as I found one with 19/20% chance to double dmg snd knockback!

The thing about bows is this: they’re nice for leveling because you attack faster, but crossbows will be your best move in the end end game if you’re looking to maximize damage. But it’s not unplayable by any means :)

Pretty accurate representation of the different ranged core skills. Would love to see if it's even possible to clear t100 with any ranged option in the current state. From my own experience it's most likely only possible with rapid fire. So far the only t100 rogue clear is with a tb death trap combo, which has lots of CC added to it, like the dash daze aspect and daze on vul enemies.

don't know if you'll see this but I'm running a pen shot build with imbuements. I can use my imbuements with every shot of penshot. I'm running the imbue damage aspect on 2 hand which gives 80% bonus and edgemaster on amulet for the 30%. would swapping increase my damage or decrease it? crits go from 2-5m right now depending on the debuffs/setup.

*sees comment* Swapping them around will make a very minor difference, and it truly depends on your setup. I would need to see your paragon points and gear to give you a 100% accurate assessment, but it really depends on what you're speccing and gearing towards: If you're going for the more traditional stat lines: crit, crit dam, vulnerable, crit dam with imbue skill - Edgemaster's will be better But if you're taking some stats to enhance your imbuement skills at all, and speccing differently on your paragon board - Corruption could be a better benefit. I'll leave you with this: what is your gear and paragon board focused on? Raw damage or imbuement damage? That should help you decide where you should place the aspects. I hope this helps, if you want more clarification let me know and I will respond when I wake up :) Cheers jiggsy.

​@@Valuedx I think i found the answer because of what you asked me to think about. :D Since I put a lot of non-physical and imbued damage on the paragon, I'll keep the imbue potency on my 2-hand. My maxed out glyph gives 145% imbue skill damage and I'm working on the nodes for the maxed out non-physical damage. Thanks for the inputs! Btw right now i'm trying out your pen+rapid fire. Seems the damage on single target is the same but i'll test some more! I might still be crap with this playstyle. What a big brain move to put 2 core skills. XD

Valued! Have you ever tried the triple imbuement rapid fire + rain of arrows with the Hakan unique? Shreds elite and have a perfect AoE cleaning, also you can use the rain of arrows to reset the imbuements for your rapid fire. You could poison rapid fire, rain of arrow, poison rapid fire again for melting bosses even faster!!

@@itsgiyu412 I don't, and to be honest, I'm thinking of u-turning completely. While the Hakan amulet is a good incentive to use Rain Of Arrows, it feels like at a high enough level the Rogue ultimates aren't good enough consistently to justify ther investment. I think I'm aiming towards a variant of the Rapid Fire build in Valued's latest vid. Combo points and Edgemasters aspect just push the ceiling of the build so much higher too. What I've found though is that as long as you are committed to a bow build the refund costs for skill trees etc aren't too bad for Rogue yet. So I'm still expereimenting a fair bit

Penshot won't clear a room without trickshot so, I assume that's included in your evaluation. for this reason, IMO, you should also include aspect of repeating for rapid fire. It's ranked 1 in boss damage, but could it be better than barrage with aspect of repeating aspect?

How do you deal with "i have no imbu ready, im useless"? I run Barrage with Condamnation + combo and it just deletes every1, with Pene shot i feel like trash without imbu lol

Happy Birthday! I'm running 2 impudents (shadow and poison) with rapid fire, poison trap, shadow step, and death trap. I'm using Preparation with no basic skills, and for the most part it works pretty well. The biggest downside is lack of mobility while actually shooting

A lot of people are a big fan of those Preparation builds. I gotta do some more testing with them, I always just find combo points to hit way harder.

Could probably drop poison imbue for dash if you want some mobility. Your single target is already pretty nutty. Idk what level you are but at 80 things die before poison even makes an impact.

@Valuedx Combo his harder for sure, but being able to spam rapid fire helps with groups and isn't too much worse for boss damage.

@dirtygerd9083 There's a way to get poison trap to cause vulnerability, and it helps alot with resource management since rapid fire can get energy back that way.

wait you are using shadow clone i am using the same build same skills in everything i love the set up with dash i might try it with cold imbue and see if i like it more i like poision for boss killing i want to try cold imbue as well

barrage dps should be the same as rapid fire in close range, or maybe better. i find that rapid fire shot slower and can not move while shotting, while barrage shot faster with its shadow that will shot other arrows for you and you can move right after you shot ,and free vulner debuff that you dont need to depend on exploit glyphs or trap lucky hit aspect like rapid fire.

I'm loving Barrage, but I'm also a dad who doesn't have enough time to get good. Barrage is a ton of fun; I feel more like a Spartan with a shotgun than a Rogue with a bow. Oh, and Shadow Imbuement exploding everything on screen is hilarious.

i have played barrage and twsiting blades and never coming back with arrow builds in my life

*Top 20 pvp player globally here* I did 1300ish pvp kills with twisting blades. Movement was cancer. Absolutely yawnfest. Sorcs press 2 buttons and I'm 100% frozen and 100% dead. Barrage changed my d4 life like an adderral before a test. It's gross. No buildup. I AHK cold + shadow inbuement, every 6 seconds one after the other, so I'm never out of inbuement damage. It's a rotating fuckfest of driveby damage. Speed farming is possible. Solo damage is literally the same as twisting blades as I've seen. I'm only lvl 87, and I'm breezing past lv60 nightmares somehow. Pvp is hilarious now. Absolute meme. Sorcs get dickslapped. Absolute W. Big W, big big big W to Wudijo and the team. He answers any of my questions I have, always has the best advice, and your content is great aswell. Barrage>>>

What does frogging mean?

I really wanted to like range rogue but controlling it just wasn’t working well for me. I think I need to practice more orb movement

Hmm. If you want the best SEGWAY build (to start getting used to it) Barrage is probably the easiest to play to get comfortable with ranged rogues :-)

i really like rapid fire, its so fun to destroy single enemies, also the hitbox is relatively large, u can hit 2 mobs with it in 1 line, pen shot is fun but hard to execute, barrage is ok and more of a chill build, but rapid fire is my favourite

Yeah Rapid Fire is a lot of fun, I just find (personally) that it struggles in AOE scenarios, but it's probably the strongest ranged option available.

It's amazing in AOE just put the ricochet aspect on the crossbow. 90% chance to ricochet and its a nuke

Currently running rapid fire with repeating aspect 90% chance to ricochet and it feels godly. Gear is mostly core skill + vuln dmg + crit dmg + attack speed affixes. I leveled with barrage, but i feel this rapid fire build has even better aoe imho. Currently doing nightmatr dungeons in the mid 30's range at around level 65

This, I got a Repeating aspect drop at like level 30 and used it all the way til 50. Was sad to switch to pen shot even though the screen clear in one click is fun I miss my 90% ricochet rapid fire. I've been sitting on the aspect waiting for at least a 725+ crossbow with decent rolls to switch back, mostly because I've yet to get a second drop of it while I'm drowning in Trickshot aspects
