Your build is not there....

Just so people dont get too confused. Umbral and umbrous are 2 SEPARATE aspects. Umbrous is the defensive one, umbral is the resource gen one.

I love penetrating shot so much more than twisting blades. I run a penetrating shot / trap build that I love. Tons of damage with survivability and my death trap us always up

@@itzyourboybigsexy8188 hammer is core, call of the ancients is the ult. but my point stands where you rotate your core skill and everything else is the same. its pretty boring to just wait for your three shouts and berserk to be ready, pop them, then go in and rinse+repeat. basically every end game barb build is the same with rotating core skill

If you want to swap out shadow step with caltrops (I like the frost version) you can further decrease all trap timers and still scoot out of danger. I had a similar build for a little while but with flurry and poison imbue. Or swap with concealment to get a guaranteed CRIT and resource Regen in boss fights.

Dropping shadow step means losing your cc break which is a terrible idea late game.

This is the build I've been playing since level 40, it works really well

I'm running wat u running as far as abilities go except for penetrating and death trap. I'm using a Shadow flurry melee build. If I can aim penetrating it would be Sweet. But I'll use that for pvp. I use shadow clone for ultimate and I'm telling you it's fun af 80% extra damage for 15 secs is crazy!

This build is so fun. I love how stuff just explodes. It's like using a shotgun that shoots dynamite

Aspect of the Umbral was changed wasnt it? The passive with the dark shrouds through your crits got removed or did i get it wrong?

This gets outdamaged in most circumstances by zero cooldown poison imbue builds, but this does put up very flashy numbers when you can line up a big group.

@@TOOL1023 It's pretty flexible as long as you're running condemnation/combo points/poison imbue with the poison pool aspect, and stacking crit and lucky hit. Shadowstep is probably also close to mandatory, with poison trap and shadow clone being optional. Otherwise you just stack multiplicative damage like this build.

The main problem with this build is that it just can't boss that well. Running around and spamming through Elites and trash mobs is great and amazing and I really enjoy it, I just wish there was more footage of how you handle bosses because right now it takes me minutes to clear most bosses when Twisting Blades is under a min, most time under 30 seconds to kill a boss.

That's why I chose poison tree :) It's maybe not clearing mobs so fast but definitely killing bosses faster.

Yep, poison tree is the way plus Rapid fire;just farm for gloves with bonus to rapid ,SWAP before the fight and you are good

How would I build this for mid game? Level 50+? I’ve been going with a barrage build with shadow trap and Imbument / clone. Each was ok up til now. I feel it’s falling off and I’m getting weak

I can do 40s with my pieced together build but need umbrous to drop. And need the ice boots for my build in particular.

For those of you looking for the build guide -- I'm using this build myself and recreated it for convenience -- use this D4 Builds token (add it to the end of the /build/ URL): 1cd21b11-3912-430f-ab73-d5a88eff4a6a The build works extremely well; tested thoroughly and, anecdotally, it is currently the most performant build for Penetrating Shot rogues with great CD up time, survivability, and both single-target and AOE clearing efficiency. One note, although it is not reflected in the build since I wanted to provide the build exactly as Khraze did in his video, if your gear provides additional skill points for required skills, consider using those free points and spec'ing into Dark Shroud and grabbing the additional affixes. With Countering Dark Shroud's crit benefit, you basically ensure DS maintains consistent up time, as it improves the chances DS will maintain its stacks, and reduce the likelihood of losing those stacks.

@@connormerrick6623Pop shadow imbuement, drop poison trap, build combo points, penetrating shot, build combo points and another penetrating shot. Check your CDs for resets, rinse and repeat dropping traps (prioritizing poison) and unloading penetrating shots. If you get Condemnation this goes even faster.

lvl 84 at a Tier 33 NM Dungeon should easily kill the boss regardless of the build. The build itself looks very interesting but id like to see more single target dmg at higher tiers to accurately assess the build

I tried this but my twisting blades build was more successful against single targets and boss fights rather than this one but it was fun. I took out that pvp boss in like 5-6 seconds with blade dancer but with penetrating shot build took me longer like 10 seconds. I might have to invest so much from ground zero to make a perfect penetrating shot build and I don’t think it’s gonna be worth it because how rng the drops are and how long it takes you to make another perfect build in this game. It’s kinda similar in terms of strength. at the end of the day just depends on player’s preference I think.

Just use both unique daggers and get the crowd control paragon board and exploit you win not that much , all your stats on gear should buff vulnerable damage , grit strike damage and chance and energy cost reduction and plus whatever skill you want to use and you win the game

Don't forget once higher WT coke the more paper baggish we become and distance might become a necessity. I'm going to try to build a good PS build I think just for this reason. I think PS will really shine past WT4/5

Death trap, poison trap, rapid fire, shadow imbuement, work the same, faster, and can one shot boss, has massive control. Way better then penetrating. Also use combo with the legendary dagger whiich provide 60€ coreskill bonus with 3 combo, huge burst.

Nope, both are viable, or also simultaneously possible. Pen shot is faster for nm dungeons and 1 shots elites or two shots bosses as well.

This field could really benefit from season, one trickery heart

eyes in the dark is such a elite only item that it hurts your dam more than help you in every other situation.. I'd disregard it entirely

You will be overkilling trash mobs anyway, better to drop some of that damage to kill elites faster.

Absolutely is so disgustingly situational. Elites are never alone, never. And that one fuckin little mob below them will ruin all your plans. The aspect should have been continues to rearm until ALL ENEMIES WITHIN IT ARE DEAD

100% agreed. Trying to follow the video is giving me a migraine constantly pausing, and searching specific moments in the video. Not to mention the confusion with him stating the importance of Umbrous aspect yet it's not there in the build page itself. :/

that's pretty impressive. I couldn't do it until like 65 as pen shot. I was focusing too much on damage at first. way too squishy with the random one shots

@Jersey Devil how much health did you have? ya i took my time running big circle avoiding the circle stuff on ground and his fireball spread ability those two were my downfall everything else was just patience i did get lucky with uniques at 51 prob only reason i was able to do it

@@joeydubs8694 i had very low health when i did it. only like 2300. i changed a lot of my stuff around and i'm super tanky now but im also 72 now with full ancestral but yea i think my main issue was staying too close to him / not staying moving so i could dodge the fire. took me like 20 tries lol

Pen shot is for clearing trash mobs and rapid fire is better for bosses and single target

I’m new so unsure why my paragon board doesn’t look like yours. Also, how do you get the gear that has the aspect that’s named and dedicated to the specific gear. Not the codex but the gear itself.

I get it from an aspect on my chest piece. It's probably that. Crit strikes have a 50% chance to give shrouds.

What order should I spend the skill points in?

I’m confused on why people put points in the skill with Unbrus. I have no points on it and it still proves. I use the one that prove with marksman skill but also the one when I stand still for 3 seconds? Is that overkill? Again am I suppose to put points dark shroud? Side note: I use the infiltrator aspect so I can drop 4 traps, use death trap then do it again. Is this good?

aspect generates free dark shroud and doesnt need to cast. just unlocked in talent tree for bonus perks on dark shroud ability.

Pen shot is nice but you cant do this when you run into monster with a damn shield around them. Im talking about 6 big asss dude with 6 shield that requires you to be in melee range to hit them. They do freeze hit on and you just wipe.

doesn't need to be on your hotbar, you just need the aspect that gives you a chance to get a dark shroud after killings mobs. that will then give you a free skill basically without having it, the only problem is you cant manually activate it obviously but you run through so many ads that you're bound to always have it up in some form or another.

My penetrating shot build with my uniques has the highest crit 1 shot that i tried but the twisting blade build I tried was better at dealing with bosses

Great video and build guide. Just please try and be concise with the terms you use. “Umbral” and “Umbrous” are completely different aspects, using those words interchangeably is going to confuse those less experienced

Can you please help me out with gearing this build? I have condemnation and 2x high ilv swords with +crit dmg, +vuln, +crit imbued, + core skill damage. I am having a hard time determining which is better to run, 2x swords or 1x sword and condemnation. I think I don't quite understand the math :|

After extensive testing Condemation is still coming out better. I just don't understand how/why the math doesn't seem to align with the formulas posted for damage. Either way thanks for the guide and build. Been smashing through NM without any issues. Fully cleared a 45 at lv 70.
