You would have to get blackout drunk to no remember beeing at one of their shows.

According to Flake the keyboardist’s book, when they were going for the ‘industrial’ look…this concert is an example of that…they’d make instant coffee and put it all over their bodies, and depending on the coffee to water ratio and how it was applied, it could look like blood at times. He said that he had to start using a mix of decaf and regular instant coffee because he was getting the caffeine in his system through his pores, and he was always getting jittery. And yup, the fireworks are real! They’re on lines so they don’t go into the crowd, but they’re still real. Till’s a licensed pyrotechnician and planned all their old stuff himself, though now obviously they have a team for that. (There’s also a story in Flake’s book about one of their early shows, they weren’t allowed to use fire, so Till snuck off to build the ‘bombs’ they needed for the show without anyone seeing him. And yes, he pierced a hole in his left cheek for a light cable. Crazy man…

Flake goes usually 13 to 17 Miles on the treadmill - per Show!

The coating on their bodies is flame retardant which makes sense with all the pyrotechnics they use.

“Du Hast” explores the detriments of marriage, and the developing separation and resentment drawn from a long-term relationship.The close pronunciation between du hast (you have) and du hasst (you hate), plays on two meanings throughout the song-Du hast mich (you have me) and Du hasst mich (you hate me). Their show is indeed a pyro-theatrical experience. The entire process is highly coordinated, taking place over the span of seven days and with the help of multiple 18-wheelers and over 400 crew members carting in flooring, lights, decorative stage elements and sound equipment. Flake Lorenz (keys) used to run around the stage when he had nothing to do and even burnt himself a few times with pyros, so they got this idea of installing a treadmill for him. They use approx 265 gallons of fuel in each show plus all the explosives etc. Those rockets are wire supported, saw them again just last saturday. When those rockets came back to the stage and set the fireworks off, it's just a matter of coordination/ planning and/or timing .

During "Rammlied", the wire led from the outside to the front of his mouth. Later, with "Ich tu dir weh", Till had a hole pierced in the back of his cheek, through which the wire leads. He didn't want the wire to be seen anymore (was once explained by Paul Landers, the guitarist in the '"making-of" - video of "Ich tu dir weh").

I’d highly recommend checking out the short time lapse video of their stage setup! It’s only 2.5 mins long. It takes 70+ semi trucks to transport their stage around, and 7 x Boeing 747s when they go overseas. Each show takes a full week to set up. It’s called ‘Rammstein - Europe Stadium Tour (Time Lapse)’

fantastic interaction between the performers and the audience! I'm sure, even after so many years, til and the others are not tired of it. You don't get used to this kind of thing!

Lightning and Slowmotion were post production effects, but the fire - including the gun - were real. Even though it is not exactly what it looks like. But that was visible for the audience too. According to the light in the mouth: There are (at least) two songs where Till used this "light in the mouth" effect. One is the live version von Rammlied (e.g. as the first song in the MSG show) and in the official video of "Ich tu dir weh". In Rammlied, there is a cable visible comming from his mouth, for the video he's got a hole in his cheek to avoid a visible cable. (Nevertheless, the live MSG version of "Ich tu dir weh" is much better than the official video.)

The fire and gun are very real. That's what Rammstein is all about ❤ They use fire. In ich du dir weh he put holes in his cheeks for the lights. And in rammlied he has the light going to the side of his mouth because the doctor said to till making holes in his cheeks was not wise because of infection risks 😅

Yes, musical theater performers train by singing while running on a treadmill/working out. It helps build stamina to control breathing while doing all that singing + dancing on the stage.

Till usually looks like he's wearing a lot of makeup, it's actually that and flame-retardant. He loved pyrotechnics so much that he became a licensed pyrotechnician and designs the stuff they use on stage. He wears the most retardant because he likes to work really closely to the explosions and if he misses a make he's protected. On a lot of the big pyrotechnics he's usually the only one at the front of the stage.

For the lightning effect on the keyboard they used - as far as I know - Tesla coils. So the effect is real. An the fire is real!

Ok Rammstein newbie, some facts for you... 1. For the original video of "Ich tu dir weh" Till had a wire in his mouth through the cheek. But it was inflamed all the time, so they found an other solution for the tour. Check the original video! 2. The fireworks for "Du Hast" is guided by steel wires, so it's allowed even inside closed buildings. 3. Till sings different lyrics live in "Du Hast". The original line is "willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet..." wich means "do you want until death seperates you", but Till sings "willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide" what is "do you want till death of vagina". 4. If you want do do some more Rammstein reactions, go for "Ich tu dir weh", "Engel", "Mein Teil", "Sonne", "Dicke Titten" and all other songs you can find. You wan't be disappointed!

About the wire in the mouth: In the live version of song Rammlied, wire goes through the mouth, and in the music video for Ich Tu Dir Weh, the vocalist pierced his cheek all the way through, recomend you to react :)

This is makeup and a flamen protection at Rammstein Burns the stage. Till is also a certified pyrotechnician.

The fireworks were real, wire guided, though. About the light in Till's mouth: In the vid you can see the wire on his cheek, running in from the corner of his mouth, so there were no added holes.

@YBPlaysMusic Actually, that "electricity" could also be the plasma ball thing. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up plasma ball. A plasma ball, plasma globe or plasma lamp is a clear glass container filled with a mixture of various noble gases with a high-voltage electrode in the center of the container. When voltage is applied, a plasma is formed within the container. Plasma filaments extend from the inner electrode to the outer glass insulator, giving the appearance of multiple constant beams of colored light (see corona discharge and electric glow discharge). Plasma balls were popular as novelty items in the 1980s. This could be applied in a way that is safe on stage, if you know how. But, it is used in video and pictures, so this is most likely what was used because the plasma would go to your fingers, as they always did.

they have some substance to protect them from all the pyro effect, it s why they look "shiny" (sorry for my english)

The blood on Till's arms was makeup and the electric lights coming out of the keyboard was cgi - everything else was real. It's strange enough to watch and hear this French audience singing along the chorus in German (I'm very glad they did!) but imagine this band playing in Belgium. I'm sure this would never happen in Bruxelles, Antwerpen or Gent. But who knows - maybe times will be changing some day. Very kind regards from Germany!

Thx for the info! Yeah the lightning cgi was well done but It couldn't have been real of course😛 I' not so sure of that, I know a couple of people here that really love rammstein and would shout along most definitely!🤪👌 Not sure about the pyrotechnic stuff though😅

Pretty sure that Flake used the Tesla coils to make the lightning.

The fire and fireworks are real. The flashes on the keybord are postproduction

It is a liquid protecting from fire. Singer is a licensed pyrotechnicien. All firework is real, seen them two times.

I’m a concert snob. I only go to a real show. Pink 3x, KISS 28x, Katy Perry 1x, Rob Zombie 12x and I do not speak German but Rammstein Dallas 2019 was easily the best concert I have ever seen.

The cabel to the LED in his mouth was originally trough a piercing in his cheek, but it got inflamed so he had to remove it. You can see it in the official video of Du tust mir weh, which is otherwise the (in my opinion) least interesting video of R+.

Fun Fact: The Keyboard player is always on a treadmill for every show and usually averages around 27 miles of walking per concert! Also all the liquid they're covered with is actually fire retardant because of the pyrotechnics. Also related: the lead singer got licensed as an international pyrotechnician after an accident on stage caused by irresponsible contractors injured a crew member. He personally oversees every aspect of their pyrotechnics now.

Pyro is real

Every commentator things it's cgi. It's basic physics it's real.

The keyboardist Flake (pronounced Flah-kah).. has full on adhd. He used to run around the stage when bored, and got burnt a few times (literally) from the fire. They gave him a treadmill to keep him in one place and keep him safe. I believe he averages about 17 miles per show. 😂

Wow so singer hsn't sangone word yet and you have already stopped the video 4 times... I'm striggling to watch your whole reaction... You defeat the pirpose of a real reaction if you keep stopping/paising every ten seconds... You remind me of my Pa when I Was a wee lad, whenever he had TV remote... hecouldn't stay on one channel for morew than 20 seconds... he would do this for HOURS! ( No it is not 'like' watching 20 shows in the time most people watch 2) but its your channel so do as u want... I;ll struggle to watch , but probably wont subscrbe... take care... eh

Yup, I could be wrong but I've always seen it mentioned that Flake has it, I know that a long time ago he used to run around the stage when he didn't have any parts and got injured bc of the fire, so they got him the treadmill so he'd be moving as much as he needed without danger, I believe he walks around 15 miles per show.
