Til became a licensed pyrotechnician after an accident at one of their shows in Berlin in '96 where apparently a burning stage prop fell into the audience. Since then, he and the band enlisted a professional pyro crew to which he both learned from and trained with them to be able to do all the insane pyro work on their shows.

They have lots of different pyro effects for each song, but personally the Du Hast "cannon/boomerang" effect is my favorite because the feeling you get when you are in the crowd and see those flares going back and forth right over you head is amazing and then that explotion in you face lighting the whole stage is just EPIC!. I've seen them live twice from the first row and those shows gave me an experience that i will never forget.🤩 Also, those flames are HUGE and with all the fire involved in the whole concert i even ended with some soot stains on my face both times. Priceless 🖤🔥🔥🔥

Always love your reactions, thoughtful, enjoyable, great energy, just a real pleasure. I'm pretty new to Rammstein so it's a whole new performance paradigm. Their staging is so epic. I'm of a mind now that what they've done with their music is strip it down to just the essentials. Nothing less or more than is needed. The combo of music and performance then present an epic whole where the powerful 'essential' music actually provides a rock solid foundation on which all the showy pyrotechnics can happen. The -again-simple lyrics are perfect in they give even the most lyrically challenged crowd member an easy way to jump in and participate. That they have put this all together and make it work so well is actually quite an amazing feat. Your reaction A++

Even though I’m of German decent, I unfortunately don’t speak more than what my dad taught me. I think that gel is a fire retardant. I can’t imagine how hot 🥵 having that on with everything going on around you would be. That takes a lot I’d think to still be able to perform with such perfection! Great reaction as always Thomas ty! Glad the block was lifted on it.

It is word play. Du - You Du has(s)t - You hate - because 'You have' is not a complete sentence Du has(s)t mich - You hate me - because 'You have me' does mean anything Du hast mich gefragt - You have asked me - Now there is no double meaning anymore it has to be 'have' The song continues and it becomes clear that this is the German wedding vow. (with some word play as well) And everywhere a couple is to say 'Yes' the band shouts out 'No!' which is very funny. And 'until the death do us part' is altered in 'until the death of the (female) private part' (Scheide instead of Scheidet, so 'vagina' instead of 'separate'. I am convinced even Germans will think: What is he saying? Did I misunderstood him, or is he really saying ....

The singer Till sets himself on fire on the song (!) "Rammstein" and performances while his clothes is burning! "Rammstein" is based on the location "Rammstein" - an america military air base in Germany ... and they had a show showing of their flying-"skills" in a airplane/jet. Very sadly two of the jets crashed directly into the crowd and exploded :-( And so are the lyrics to this song is: "Rammstein! A human is burning!" (org. "Rammstein! Ein Mensch brennt!") ... 70 people died, more than 1000 people got hurt by burning ... it was one of the biggest catastrophe of this kind of event ever happend! :( And as it was an american military base, they didn't let the firefighters, helpteams, ambulance, etc. pass to get to the scene and to help the victims! it was a real horror! Since that tragedy airshows are not allowed in Germany anymore! So the name of the band fits to their shows ...

Du hasst = you hate Du hast = you have. It's called a homophone, a word that sounds alike despite different spellings. Similar to "there" and "their" in English. German allows for words to be added on at the end of a sentence for quite some time, each time slightly changing the meaning of the sentence. Du = you Du has(s)t = you have / hate Du has(s)t mich = you have me / you hate me Du hast mich gefragt = you have asked me. First time the sentence is truely unambigous in German. Also in English the verb order is changed while in German it remains the same. To change it to English it should be "you have me asked". Yeah, yeah, I know, that's not how sentences are constructed in English, but to give an impression why it works in German. Du hast mich gefragt, und ich hab nichts gesagt = you have asked me, and I didn't say anything. This is clear in its original intention, but it might contain two meanings. First that someone was asked ANY kind of question, and they simply didn't answer anything. Second possible meaning: From my perspective and knowledge of this song the chorus indicates the German traditional marriage ceremony question of "Willst du, bis der Tod euch scheide, treue sein für alle Tage?" / "Will you be faithful until death do you part?". I assume that in this case he was asked THE question of will "you marry me?", and he did not answer with anything. Which is quite a bummer and turn-down in my book, as that is probably one of the most devastating results you can get. That you aren't even worthy of a 'no' answer to such an incredibly important question. The chorus changes several times, including a very saucy version, where it is changed from the original to "Willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide, Sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen?". Because in this case, another homophone popped in. The minuscule "scheide" is "to part", but the majuscule "Scheide" is the vagina. In that case, the question is "Will you love her to the death of her vagina, even in her bad days?" In German "die Tage haben" = to have her period. So he is asking if he is going to 'love' her vagina even during bad period days. Not that nice, I suppose. The chorus is always answered with a very emphatic "NEIN!" by the band, which probably needs no explanation, right? 😁
