Ram Trucks RT25 SUPERTOURER - The NEXT Landcruiser Killer?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Finally, a worthy LandCruiser contender.
We've built the RT25 Supertourer on this ultra-capable platform - the RAM 2500 Laramie - which is capable of towing 6.7 tonne straight out of the box and offers almost double the torque delivery of a Landcruiser.
Built by PCOR and proven in Patriot Games, this new kid on the block has just entered the market in Australia and is already toe to toe with Australia's most iconic four wheel drive vehicles.

Welcome to Ram trucks my Australian friends. We are a farming family up in North Idaho USA and own 5 rams. 2 are classics a 1969 Power Wagon and a 1971 Power Wagon. The other 3 are a 1999, 2013 and a 2019. They are very tough trucks and can get through all kinds of weather with ease. And towing! Wow we use our rams to tow loads normally reserved for larger trucks but they do it with ease. Hope you aussies get the 700 Horsepower Rebel TRX (yea 700HP!) my local dealer knows to get one for me when they go on sale.

I live in the central US, and seeing this makes me want to move to Australia, and sell my soul to the devil to get my hands on one. I grew up on both Dodge and Ford. My moms truck was a 96 Ford 350 long bed with the 7.3l powerstroke. My dads was truck was a 90 Ram 250 with the Cummins. I always wanted my own truck and never could afford one until last spring. I got myself a 03 Ram 2500 with the 5.7l at a steal of $2100. This thing is a beast, course nothing like a new one.

Yes the cummins ( NOT CUMMINGS ) is tested and proven, and it's a known fact that mopar transmissions suck ass, on top of not even offering them in manual anymore. The truck itself is junk, I've owned 3 and still own 1. It's hard to find a land cruiser here in america, we dont have a cult following for them. Although they do exist and they do have a following, but the populace would rather have something big and tall and never sees a grain of dirt road ( note, sema... $100k truck that only sees mall parking ) I'd like to get my hands on a 79 series.

RAM NEVER SOLD TRUCKS IN NIGERIA. its an issue of differing world markets for toyota being all over the world not a durability reason. how many people around the world want a 6.7 litre diesel? not many outside of a few western countries. i wish people would stop this frenzy. its like saying the beetle is the most reliable because it was sold all over the world and people in mexico still run them. It’s a hell of a great looking truck, but for me, like anything budget, where you live, intended use all comes into it, the LC79 Black Truck base is 125k vs 215k for the Ram, that’s allot of extra apples for apples comparison, it’s a hell of a truck though and great explanation vid and if ya have the space like in the US and Aussie and the samoloeans (as Boss Hog would say) to buy it, you earned it, good on ya, here in NZ us Duke boys like a smaller truck which is more suitable, I never thought I’d go from my Hilux’s to a 79, I’d never go back now to a Lux! I still love the original LC79 black truck for its all round versatility for me, but if I could have both of these from PC dam it I would. Nice vehicles but they would nvr be able to do the work that people here buy ram or ford diesels for. Not even a comparison. The Cummins is bulletproof. The auto transmission is not. The manual 6 speed made by Mercedes that can be optioned is also bulletproof but by using it you go from 800 ft/pounds of torque down to 670 ft/pounds of torque. Not that it matters because it’s plenty. Empty on highway cruise at 65 mph it returns 27 mpg. They at good trucks. Lots of people have them here in the US

@EJ yes dodge does in fact make the light duty Cummins. Cummins handed off the reigns on that engine series to the dodge engineers around the end of the 2nd generation because Cummins were all hands on deck to roll out the new heavy duty ISX Platform for the Class A diesel rigs. Just as Nissan North America handles the designs for the new V8 Cummins, dodge still engineers the light duty I6TD with access to Cummins research and development from the ISX and N14 Platforms.

In California, diesel is more expensive than gasoline. The 4wd Ram weighs almost 4 tons, so it eats tires, brakes, ball joints and wheel bearings very quickly. It takes 3 gallons of oil that needs to be changed frequently because of the EGR system recirculating unburnt diesel soot into the intake tract. Rear windows leak on brand new trucks, stiff wiring that’s brittle and cracks. Light years away from Toyota’s reliability. It pulls a lot of weight though and very safely
