Ford F650 Super Truck Review // What Fresh Hell Is This

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Ford F-650 Super Truck ($300,000) is a modified straight-frame F-650 with a 6.7 L turbo diesel engine, making 330 horsepower and 750 lb ft of torque. It has a massive fuel tank, custom wheels, and lots of other bespoke Super Truck additions. But how is it to drive on the highways and streets in a city like Toronto? Thomas and James are excited to take this F-650 Super Truck on a mini Throttle House Adventure! We hope you enjoy the episode. And then subscribe, silly.

A compression release engine brake, compression brake, or decompression brake, frequently called a Jacobs brake or Jake Brake, is an engine braking mechanism installed on some diesel engines. When activated, it opens exhaust valves to the cylinders, right before the compression stroke ends, releasing the compressed gas trapped in the cylinders, and slowing the vehicle.

But why doesn't it (or as he said "a diesel engine") not bring down your speed when you just let off the gas? Was that a joke or are the diesel engines different in North America. I drive a 3 liter diesel daily and it engine brakes like any other normal car. I've also driven a few semi trucks. When I let off the gas, yes the engine brings down the speed just like a 1.6 toyota does. European truck have a separate foot switch for extra downhill engine braking in place of the American Jake brake but otherwise the engine works like in any normal car. So what is he on about?

Most of the time it was positive. I've spent time driving all sorts of crazy cars and this was up there in the look at me type of way. The only way I would have one was the F-650s that are set up for long distance towing with good highway tires and a hauler bed. BTW there is a company that makes a suspension for them that actually makes them ride really good. It's about $10k to $15k but when you're already spending this much why people don't get that all that often is beyond me.
