Hi! I just started raising rabbits for meat and would love to see videos on building cages for them and hutches. I love your videos. They are very informative. Keep going.

Owen, great video. You are correct, pellets are a little pricey. Curently I have 6 working does. Feeding them is doable financially. However, We normally have 3 to 4 litters at any given time at various stages of growth. That gets pricy with pellets. I'm always looking for less expensive ways to feed the growouts.

I would love to raise either blue fox rabbit or otter rex because they are good meat breeds and have gorgeous fur. Awesome duel purpose breeds. Cali’s or new zealands would be amazing for meat because they grow fast and the fur is more multi use since it is white and can be dyed if you are selling furs. I like the natural look of blues and otters and would be using the furs for myself, friends and family. Someday it would be cool to raise blues/otters and cali’s for a well rounded multi purpose herd.

(Never farmed rabbit) I like the idea of pellet because it is easier if you upgrade to automated feeding with a timed auger that pushes feed from a large hopper into each cage, but I too am concerned about long-term availability and price. Anyone seen other producers pelletizing their home-grown feed? Looking into what a pellet machine might cost. Then I can start with buying pellet and "upgrade" when the bank account is flush just like with the automated feeding, solar, etc.

I love all your ideas. You can get a small pellet mill for a few hundred dollars. I would love to pellet my own feed someday!

Hi there! I just subscribed, this is a wonderful video - thank you! I feed my rabbits timothy hay and alfalfa cubes that I mash up with a hammer so that they are softer. What do you think? Should I change something? My 2 does just had 9 babies each, 1 week ago.

I would say you should be OK, you will need to provide salt at least, but watch your rabbits as long as they stay healthy, they are ok.👍
