@@TangoNevada That's human ego getting in the way. Sol apparently isn't just interested in creating humans to rule over...it created the snake (Guzikowski cryptically said that "Sol seems to be interested in bringing back that specific species"), and the Tree (Campion mentioned in season 1 that he thinks "everything has a soul, even plants") and it could be, that millions of years ago it was just Sol and all the snakes, and plants under it's control. Whether Sol is an ageless entity or an AI created millions of years ago by some long dead non human civilzation, it could have saw the need to create more adaptable beings to rule over, and forced evolution over that dog race we see on Kepler.

It's interesting how we're getting this synthesis of ancient archaeological relics with incredibly advanced technology. It's interesting conceptually and aesthetically. I think where it's heading is towards some sort of ancient AI and a similar conflict to the one on Earth having already played out on Kepler 22B thousands of years ago. I think we might this symmetry of humans having left Kepler 22B to start again on Earth, the same way Mother and Father did the reverse. Perhaps it will allude to how humans are just always destined for this cycle of self-destruction. The Trust also sounded similar to the "signal" so I'm guessing it's a similar dark photon powered AI. Again, I find this blending of aesthetics interesting, mixing ancient superstition and magic with robotics.

Yes this is what the logo of the snake eating its own tail symbolizes. The story of man is one where we self destruct. But its all for a reason. Think of the cycle of life as a filter to create "rainbow body" beings. These souls will ascend to the "Elysian Fields" at the end like in yhe move "this is the end." Thats what the movie Elysium with Matt Damon is referring to.

My guess is that we will end up with a Battlestar Galactica like story. Humans evolve on Kepler 2B. Here they become an advanced civilization and develop AI. They create an AI that is so complex they let it run their society. It makes their laws, governs the people and helps all. At some point this AI inexplicably goes rogue and the humans are gradually split. Half so dependant on the AI, begin to worship it as a god like being that has brought peace to their people for centuries. Others are more aware and see that it is deliberately stripping them of the freedom to exist as individuals and free beings. It has its own ambitions now and humans are just a tool to it. The believers found a religion where they worship Sol. They lose. The athiests can't destroy Sol as he is too powerful. So the AI retreats deep into the planets core where it survives but begins to change the planets climate which is already weak from a major war. Most of Kepler is uninhabitable and under the influence of a weakened sol. Necromancers built during the war to protect humanity and ensure safety from Sol decide they will devolve humans to ensure Sol can't manipulate them any longer or use them for his bidding. Achieving their purpose of saving humanity despite their lack of care for humanity's intelligence or cultural heritage in doing so. Now facing necromancers who want to devolve all humans and sol who wants to enslave the species .. some manage to escape and reach Earth. Here they rebuild, but regress to a pre industrial people. 200,000 years later advanced humans discover artifacts left behind but the original colonisers on earth and use this unusual technology and knowledge to create a religion which is heavily inspired by the teachings of sol. This tech and religion cause a war that lasts decades and which leaves the planet uninhabitable. Again .. humanity flees it's home, this time returning to it's true home .. Kepler. Here Sol has lay dormant for 200,000 years. The necromancers have long broken down and all humans left behind were devolved into low intelligence ape or dolphin like creatures or barely sentient at all animals in some cases. The planet remains heavily damaged as it has only been 200,000 years which isn't a long time. But the tropical zone is an area that has recovered. The arrival of humans triggers Sol into reawakening. With some believer's on the planet again it has gets a jumpstart and begins to play the game of enslavement chess once again using bioweapons and emotional manipulation. Sol wants to break free and control mankind. An ancient necromancer is rebuilt which upon learning that sentient technologically advanced humans exist on the planet once again, fears sol will take control of humans, causing a third religious war and makes the decision to devolve these humans ending the cycle once and for all .. but another necromancer from earth built using the ancient blueprints that arrived on earth from Kepler has the potential to stop her from doing this and thus gives humanity another shot at beating sol. It's that idea of "all this has happened before and all this will happen again" like in Battlestar Galactica but to quote angel 6 in BSG "Let a complex system repeat itself long enough and eventually something surprising might occur". This surprise is Mother. An AI that can truly see the value in humanity and maybe help us destroy Sol for good.

I believe there is a prequel comic book for Raised by Wolves. I'm pretty sure it states that in 21st century the Mithraic religion gains popularity after some artifact is found proving that religion. Through the artifacts the humans get the word of Sol and also all kinds of technology. It's an interesting concept that an ancient religion would once again become a dominant religion. Can't wait to see where the show goes in season 3.

Fey Fire, I just wanted to provide you with a little information. After episode 5, the showrunner explained the dude with the snakeskin was in-between a regular human, and a devolved human he was resisting becoming devolved. Also, the tooth of Romulus contained Nano bots that caused the dude to devolve.

@LadyAmrita Wow...i didn't think of that! During season 1, Guzikowski might have mentioned something about time playing a role in season 2...can't find the interview at the moment. That would be crazy. So in that theory, he and the humans on Kepler right now, could have made those tarot cards as a warning against Sol, and he broke into one of the temples to lay and wait as a warning to his looped self!? Too many roads to go down in that theory....I'm just going to let that sit.

Nice theory! Though with the new, seemingly sinister, Kepler android, its blinding glow, and its interest in humans..... I think those are definitely what the cave paintings depict. The android's glow is depicted by the light radiating from the drawing's heads. Her reaction to the news of humans on Kepler, and knowing she wasn't built as a weapon, makes me think she is what Mother was reprogrammed as: a nurture bot, who seeded earth with the human race, depicted by the orbs in the drawing. And in it, Earth is clear enough: a blue green planet, 3rd from its star. I think that is a pretty reasonable guess.....now for wild speculation! Sol (who at that point had completely taken over the planet, down to its literal core) probably sent out a multitude of these ships in an attempt to spread its influence to other parts of the galaxy. I think Sol is an ancient AI singularity that Keplerians came to worship, and the war between them and the nonbelievers left the planet radiated, killing off the majority of life there. Sol's only motivation that we know for sure at this point is to make beings incarnate: The snake, Tempest's baby, the Tree of Life....I think that is why the Tree seems to be pivotal in its plan. Eating the fruit maybe spreads nanobots? Just like the Mithraic artifacts. The tooth's (and likely the thousand of other artifacts the priestest said the Mithraic made) purpose was to spread these nanobots, and to effectively do that, they needed to be treasured by the people Sol is manipulating. Religion was the way that was accomplished. It's one of the more interesting ideas presented this season: instead of propgating itself soley through machines like most AI fictions, Sol has learned that flesh is easeir to control. To an ageless entity, carbon beings are more efficient to "construct". Mother hinted at that aspect when interrogating Cleaver, saying humans are just as easy to reprogram. We're all just fleshy robots, and gods and religion might just be malware.

One thing about the tooth, apparently on the Inside the Episode the creator clarifies that the tooth released nanobots. I've seen screen caps of it but I'm not sure where to find the Inside the Episode videos. I don't think nanobots were mentioned in last week's Podcast episode

@@FeyFire I'm thinking all the mithraic "relics" might be some kind of safeguards for whatever reason, maybe to help humans from earth not to be able to communicate with the Keplerians and learning the truth about anything on Kepler. Just like the mithraic didn't understand the necromancer tech, I don't think they understood what they were making when they were mass producing these "relics", or it could whatever, I like that this show keeps throwing curve balls at the viewers and keeps us guessing, I haven't been this invested in theories about a show since Lost was a thing.

I hated that damn show by the second season, but had to keep watching in the hopes that my least favorite characters would die horribly. Twist, they already did. Lame.) RBW writing is faaar superior.

The creator of the show said it was nanobots that came out of the tooth and triggered the de-evolution.

I've also theorised about Marcus' correlation to Mars. For example when Mother's eye's are "rammed" (ram-goat and symbol for Ares in astrology) down His throat. He becomes filled with the "spirit of Ares", so to speak I also believe we're watching multiple "timelines"/ unfolding events, within the show..maybe a Simulation of different events/Simulacrum?? For example, Father's eye's change colour from brown,to blue, to green, all through S1 and multiple times each episode. I'm assuming there are 3 "timelines"?, But I'm not certain how many "timelines" there actually are. We've been shown that event's are cyclical in nature (Earth to Keplar, and back and forth) from the cave art We see in S1s' end.. So, I think Markus may be the "Creature" He saw inside the cave, but from a different "timeline" with a different outcome (butterfly effect). A timeline where He didn't take the "nanotooth" with Him into the cave and had to hide from Sol's "light" and "air"/(aerosol)? The Creature was burning up from the light exposure, that's why "it" had walled itself up in the cave and put the light and heat deflecting "snake skin" over himself (the skin- something Markus has utilised & already has knowledge of). The Creatures eyes were very blue, just like Markus', same uniform as Markus..Markus from a different time? Or, different run of the "Simulation"? We're told repeatedly that "Sol IS the Light". Would this indicate that KeplarB is definitely "sentient"? As "Sol" is within every atom? the light, the air etc I know the writers confirmed there was NanoTech inside the tooth, but if Sol is the planet, it could of made the tooth "gas" Does anyone else get Lovecraftian "deep one"/ Old One vibes from this sentient "planet"? Apologies if You've already discussed these theories..this is the 1st video I've watched on Your channel. I've subbed now. I was just thinking about it from another comment from @The Middle Man (who also makes amazing RBW content!) I love the ram/Ares comparison, that is what I love most about this show. You can find so many connections within the zodiac and the cosmos, it's amazing. I like this idea, about the snake skin protecting them from the light! @@FeyFire Aww thanks so much! I've been getting a Lot of hate on Reddit for my "theories" so I really appreciate some fun, positive feedback I'm subbed to Brent, The Middle Man. We've bounced a lot of theories off each other. He makes great content too There is So much to speculate over in this show! It's a real rabbit hole!! I e managed to work out most of my "theories" as I do a lot of crosswords and sometimes use anagram solvers (helps my dyslexia). I started to notice a Lot of words "embedded" in the shows script/"scriptures". Especially in character names and the strange "glitchy" type things the characters say.. for example, Father tries to speak to Grandmother and says "Hi I'm farmer to trade", but He's not a "farmer" and He missed the "a", as in "a farmer" "Farmer to trade"= "reformatted" Exactly what Grandmother done to Father when Father's eyes went glitchy at the end of s2, e4.. He Was reformatted I'm looking forward to binge viewing your videos. Thanks again

(except anything David Gordon Green/Jody Hill/Danny McBride or Tim Robinson does but those shows don't have much to theorize about them) Although RbW has dumb stuff in it too, it's not making me any less excited about it and what scifi doesn't have dumb stuff in it?

I'm really enjoying the discussion about RBW generated with these posts. On a number of occasions there have been points made in comments by other viewers and RBW fans that I have found thought provoking and enlightening, even if they differ from my own speculations about where the show is going. Just putting it out there but what if it is in this story that who it is that raises the orphan is very important to whoever or whatever The Light is? More specifically, what if The Light wants its Chosen One to be someone that is sympathetic and caring towards the devolved humans? Now that the sea creature has taken Tempests' baby, we essentially have 3 orphans being raised by different parents (wolves??). All 3 orphans fit the description of the prophesied one but due to their different upbringings and influences upon them, it appears that not all 3 will be intrinsically able to fulfill the prophecy. Paul is an orphan raised by Marcus and Sue / Mary (both atheists posing as Mithraic) for many years while they were all in hypersleep. And now, Paul is sympathetic only towards those of the Mithraic faith as shown by his change in attitude towards Sue after she became a 'believer' in SOL. Campion is an orphan raised by Mother and Father who are both androids programmed to be antagonistic towards the Mithraic faith. Campion is sympathetic towards androids (esp. Virell), atheists, Mithraic believers and serpents. I'm not certain but to date, I have not seen how sympathetic and caring Campion is towards the devolved humans; other than the fact that he doesn't want to eat them. Yes, Campion says that 'everything has a soul' but does he view the devolved humans as anything more than animal-like creatures? Though Tempest and Othos' baby is also fatherless, at this time it is different to Paul and Campion in one key area. Paul has a father figure in Marcus. Campion has a father figure in Father. The baby was taken by a sea creature that appears to be female. Though its growth will be accelerated due to some of Grandmother's power, we have yet to see what kind of father figure it will have to influence it. Hunter came close to becoming a father figure for the baby but was too late. If some of the other comments hold true and the devolved humans are closer to being 'pure' than humans are, then they will still hold value to SOL / The Light. Although the creatures seem now closer to being animals than human, they are still a creature that has been created - especially given that they were formerly humans. If their welfare and existence is still cared about and of value to SOL / The Light, then the One chosen by It must be a person that cares about the devolved creatures also. I think that because Tempest and Otho's baby was taken by devolved humans it may be raised by them also. As a result. the baby will be sympathetic and caring towards them also. That is something that neither Paul nor Campion have been so far. Perhaps SOL / The Light desires a deliverer that will deliver all classes of creation to the Tree and thus to fellowship and communion with It so that SOL can communicate directly and personally with each of them. It's only a technical point and I'm not sure whether it's valuable information but although both Paul and Campion are both orphans, they are not without 'fathers' or father figures. Paul has Marcus and Campion has Father. We haven't yet seen if Tempest and Othos' baby - which is also an orphan - will have a father figure to guide it. The baby may be raised by the female creature that took it from Tempest. My point is that because of the points listed above, the baby may fit the description in the prophecy more so than either Paul or Campion. As stated earlier, given how the baby will be raised and who it will be raised by, it will most likely not be discriminatory against devolved humans nor will it view them as a lesser class of creation like how Paul and Campion might view them

I feel like there’s a lot of cyclical events taking place in this timeline , similar to Game of Thrones .

Able Cain trope, sci-fi remake.

Also I just saw a great theory by Think Story, were he think that the serpent and Campion are brothers, both children of mother and maybe Original Campion. the theory is that Campion would eventualy kill the snoake, his brother, and become King of an Empire, and that young Campion is the real prophet.

Mother = Dark Photon Energy, Grandmother = Light Photon Energy. They will weaponize as soon they meet in the next episode. Each energy has its own “voice”. Sol is just one of the two voices, we don’t know for sure which side he’s on yet. Same principle applies to the Mithraic relics like the tooth of Romulus, it just one of the opposing sides tools to achieve victory. You’re all in for a treat once the seed box is opened ;)

I think the seed box could be a not to James Frazer's book The Golden Bough The "King that will bring peace" might be be the "Priest King" needed to be sacrificed under this ceremonial "Tree" as some "fertility rite" and for the "cycle" to continue/end

What if creatures are evolving not devolving? so that they can survive on a planet that they couldn’t as normal humans. What if this is Earth and they were in the space ships way longer than they thought? If Grandmother was the original Mother is there an original Father out there somewhere? She did think that he was her partner so at some point she must have had one at some point.

Human evolution is essentially stagnated because we alter our environment to meet our needs, we're not evolving to adapt to the environment. This is certainly a de-evolution in the show as the humans are being reduced to a point where they are shaped by their environment (the serpent-like creatures are in the sea, the dog-like creatures are in the holes, etc.). It would basically reset our ability to alter our environment, meaning we can't create technology that leads towards a signal, Sol, quantum-6, etc. all over again and lead us right back to ending ourselves.

It really does feel like I’m donning a tinfoil hat when thinking about this stuff 😅♥️

I'm thinking another serpent is out there the one Campion heard before the Android girl attacked him

Fun additional fact to this; the name Marcus means "Of Mars", in reference to the God. Basically, people named Marcus are named after Mars.

Among other things, he is a God of the Underworld and *the Sun.* Considering a lot of the Sun Symbolism in Mithraism may be a misinterpretation of Kepler's Core, it provides an interesting possible identity for our mysterious Entity. It also would also explain why Marcus' developed a fascination with a Solar Deity.

It was not the tooth they said it was nano bots

The tooth held nanobots that adapted that humanoid to survive on Keppler. Just like the tree seed held bots that turn Sue into a tree and the water creatures are adapted and came to save the baby by the sea. The planet is being terraformed to try to restore it for human habitation. Romulus is just like Campion, his android came to earth and birthed him. We are just cycling back from Earth to Keppler with the story repeating. (But why freaking snakes and are the voice/voices rogue or left over AIs?!) It'd be funny if the planet is hollow cause the previous humans mined it out for metals and minerals to build escape ships to get to earth. Also, water gets all acid when flush with mining leftovers. Maybe the ocean is a big acid pit like the Berkley pit but on a massive scale.

This season 2 of Raised by wolves is exciting but we used that answer. the tooth that Markus wears is a relic of Romulus which was in the ark destroyed by Mother in the first episode. a tooth with nanorobots makes no sense ! it's science fiction this tooth reanimate the human looking creature and become more primitive? no logic to all that.

@Nemo Marc I totally agree! How would a Mithraic relic become implanted with nanobots? Who programmed it to attack a humanoid but not the other humans? It leaves something to be desired. Hopefully we'll get more answers in the next couple episodes, otherwise we can just go with my theory. 😁🌑🐍

This is nonesence, there were no Mithraics during the foundation of Rome, in( Romulus and Remus time.) Mithraism came much later and coesisted with early Christianity during the late stages of the empire. Thus Romulus tooth being a Mithraic relic in the first place is nonsese. And the flying serpent is more related to Aztec and mayan Mithology then to any of the Ancient Roman religions.

I think the serpent ties more into Greek mythology and associated with Lamia. Not sure if you've seen the most recent episode but definitely Scylla vibes! I agree with your statements about Mithraism, and yes I doubt Romulus had much time to ponder over Mithras while he was building Rome! Romulus tooth is a good example of the questionable facts the Mithraic posed as truths to their followers back on earth, which are becoming more and more clear on Kepler. Thanks for watching!
