And how clever Marty was, too, despite revving his truck’s engine as if it seemed he had his truck parked at the red light, and as soon it turns green, Marty instead reversed his ride into a U-turn while it was Needles and his gang who sped off and almost crashed straight into a Rolls-Royce head-on.

old man had a similar one he kept well into the late 90s. Made it to 700km (430+ miles) on the original engine before the floor pan rusted out and he was almost flinstoning it. great ute

No mcfly got in trouble for it because they where street racing regardless of whether or not they stopped at the sign or not. Gotta watch the part where she was in the house in the future and her future self mentions about how he crashed into the rolls-royse in his new truck. if the exact spot it was when she found out he got fired and reminded him about it.

@@robinorlowski2449 I think Marty just doesn't want to be thought of like his father George had been before the events of the trilogy. It's brought up in the first movie when he expresses to Jennifer of his fear that he would be rejected if he sent in his audition tape and recognizes in that sentiment that he's sounding like George. After his adventures through time, he's learned that he doesn't have to care what anyone thinks of him. BttF 2's 2015 Marty is what would have happened if Marty hadn't learned that lesson and had let Needles bait him into that race in 1985.

Everyone in Hill Valley looks up to him, so winning against him in a race would have given Marty a lot of recognition and improved his standing in the town. It would basically have been like the equivalent of beating Michael Jordan in a game of 1v1.

He broke his hand from that race but I'm guessing the guys in the back of Needles' pickup ended up dead and both Marty and Needles were charged with vehicular manslaughter. 🤣

One would think that after Marty picked Jennifer up he would go home and take a shower and change his clothes. Don't forget that about 15 minutes prior to this he was 100 years away where there was nothing but dirt.

You'd think Needles would ask Marty why he was dressed like a guy from the wild west?! "Nerd here thinks he is going to a shootout!"

I just realized that bttf predicted that Beverly Hills is going to 💩. “Hilldale” is supositly a rich area where a rolls-Royce came out from, and in the future it’s bad neighborhood

For a long time I have wondered about how this scene was set-up, with the Rolls Royce, because it leaves a lot to speculation. In case of an accident the Rolls Royce would have been at fault and because of that I don't see how it would affect Marty's future from a legal point of view. Some people claimed it could do physical damage to Marty, but he was in a lift-up 4x4 truck so was little chance of that. The only thing that comes to my mind is that exactly because he was driving a lift-up truck he might have killed the driver of the Rolls Royce, got free from a legal point of view, but the guilt would have consumed him for the rest of his life...

If Marty had gotten into the crash, both he and the Rolls Royce driver would have been at fault to some degree for the resulting damages. The RR driver pulling out of a subdivision (likely running a stop sign) and Marty for street racing. The street racing aspect would have been so egregiously reckless and would have caused far more damage than if Marty had been driving normal speeds, therefore he still would have likely been found to be more at fault in a civil case.

Too bad the Rolls would of been at fault for not stopping , Marty could of sued his ass and became rich.

Jennifer shows no signs of grogginess from having slept 14 hours straight. And that's not including the hour she slept before that.

It would have been hilarious if Marty hit someone while reversing. Then the outcome would have been the same 😁

Exactly. Looks like Needles had right of way on the main road, Rolls Royce coming out of the side street. Marty could have sued for millions.

Yeah, the Rolls Royce would have been at fault. I have a couple of theories though on what happened tho. The collision did occur. But when the police arrived, it wouldn't have been "he said, she said" as the position of the crash would indicate that the Rolls-Royce pulled out into traffic. Thus, the Rolls-Royce is at fault. I'm thinking one of two things happened. Either the crash happened, and Needles turned back around and threw Marty under the bus saying that Marty was trying to race him. Or Needles told the Rolls-Royce driver later, causing them to sue Marty. Needles got Marty fired in the second movie, so it seems in line of him to do something like that. And it was super convenient that the big boss was listening in right when Needles challenged Marty again.
