[Psytrance Tutorial] Forest Bass with Pigments

In this Psytrance Tutorial learn how to make a basic Forest Bass with Pigments!
Pigments is a strange beast but I have come to love it for its quirks. Generating a good bass can seem awkward at first with it but once you know how to play by its rules you can get some lovely tones!

Nice one, the processing part really shows how powerful pigments is in these tasks compared to other synthesizers (happy to see you exploring it in depth), too bad it can't control the phase of it's oscillators YET! btw, nice tip on the velocity control, makes it way more precise to get the groove done !

i've lately experimented doing bass with u-he ace. you can use lfo as oscillator and get super snappy envelopes by using multiplex module to my multiply envelope by itself. from u-he think it is the best bass because it has exactly the elements needed to do tight and "modern" psytrance bass and no extras. great for "in the ballpark" bass and worry about the final bass later because minimal controls :-)

U-He stuff is great, zebra2 still makes such a beautiful bassline. Bazille is also a really fantastic synth! can’t wait for zebra3!

the one I used here is from my Forest psy vol.2 pack. However you can easily generate single cycles from Serums FFT editor. Alternatively you could record a waveform from any synth and just manually cut one cycle from it and load that up in pigments :) hope this helps
