I did all of this just recently on the gamecube version. The soul eater seems OK, but you really have to be careful when using it because you can easily get yourself killed as it drains your health constantly. If you have a mag that makes you invincible at low health, then this thing seems pretty good. Weapons with bezerk effects, in general, seem pretty dangerous to use without a mag that makes you invisible at low health because otherwise, you will be healing yourself a lot. Just my opinion.

To be honest, the HP drain is pretty minor and is only an issue at very low level. Later on you'll honestly barely notice it! Berserk is amazing if you're careful using it. Very easy to get yourself killed if you spam it too much 😂

@SectionSkyly Yeah, if you're level 100+, you probably won't notice as much. The health drain when walking around with soul eater out isn't too bad. It's special is what I was referring to about it doing a lot of damage to you. Even with 1000+ hp, that special attack will still eat up a pretty good chunk, but yeah, if you are careful and don't go too hard, it's really good. It's probably not the best weapon for the early game just because of how much damage the weapon does to you.

I'm less familiar with the DC versions of PSO, but as far as I'm aware the process is the same as Blue Burst. The stats on the weapon will probably differ, but I think the way you get it is the same.

Yessss I actually got one with anniversary badges in this years event but was wondering how to get it the regular way! I've been mag feeding a lot while doing other stuff and done some regular leveling whenever I can and I've recently reached lv54 on ephinea with normal exp rates. Even though I like to take my time and slowly upgrade my character to have that amazing sense of progression I am still wondering what I should do solo at around this level... so far I've been doing some ttf quick dragon kills in 2 mins in VH and /lobby. What would you do in this situation? Is there anyway I can party up with you someday for some ttf? :D Thank you for your work, by now you've provided me with some hours of actually useful information on multiple phantasy star games!

At 54 (and honestly, for most levels) TTF is probably still king for leveling. I understand it can get super boring running it on repeat though, so ep4 is another option. On Ephinea there is a quest (i think its called Beyond the Horizon), which is a custom quest in episode 4 designed purely for EXP. Drops are disabled in the quest but it's stupid EXP. I didn't mention it in the leveling video as it's a custom quest only on Ephinea. I'm planning to announce a stream soon so once I do that I'll probably be up for running quests with people!

How on earth did the first player to figure this out actually manage to figure it out? By accident?

I know, it's such a specific process to go through 😂 My guess is someone stumbled on Kireek in Waterfall Tears and people figured it out from that. It's definitely not something that's obvious!

wow, first time i see that you can fight against kireek. idk that's kinda sad for me, he was mY hero when i was like 6 years old XD. Didnt know you can have that cool weapon, is it worthy the time you spent to get it?

It's a decent weapon for lower level because of the really low equip requirements for it. With it having a Berserk special that helps it too. When you get to a higher level there are definitely better options though! If you like the design of Soul Eater but want something stronger, you can hunt for Soul Banish in Ultimate. Has a much worse special attack but is stronger and looks almost the same. Sorry to have beaten up your childhood hero! 😅
