I didn't know about Ragol Boost Road. I am new to Blue Burst but I used to play all the time on Gamecube. I also only ever played Episode 1. So what are your thoughts on "Tyrell's Ego". It's an inflated monster count quest but it has hundreds of mobs. Is that the normal for that kind of quest or is that unique to that quest? It has so many mobs that I actually started using it to farm rare drops.

I'm not too familiar with Tyrell's Ego; I'd imagine it's good EXP if there's large monster counts but it also depends on if there's any easily accessible bosses. Bosses are a huge jump in EXP from regular mobs, which is why TTF dragon spam works so well. If you'd prefer go the inflated enemy counts route though it could work. I don't tend to play the custom quests that often but I seem to remember it having a huge number of enemies in it. Just a quick note on Ragol Boost Road; it is an Ephinea exclusive but there may be similar things on other servers. Unfortunately it was never a thing on the official servers which is why you won't have seen it on Gamecube.

Tyrell's Ego is very time consuming and ends up being just okay when compared to time spent and exp earned. On higher difficulties it can take upwards to 90mins to complete.

@@junibuffooni you never run it to completion. Just to farm the mobs that you want to farm. I've been using it for rare mob spawns

Would you happen to know what the Quest in Episode 2 is that deals with Photon Drops, and the one that is super quick and gives insane Meseta? It's been like a Decade so that's about all I remember.

  • @SectionSkyly

The quest that trades for Photon Drops is Gallon's Shop; I have a new video on that so check that out if you want more information on it! As for big Meseta, I'm not sure if there's a quest with massive payouts but generally armour and shields sell for a lot more than weapons. Some people use quests like Phantasmal World #3 and just collect box drops (armour/shields but also high level techs and Hit% weapons you can sell to other players). Theres a room in that quest near the start with a huge amount of boxes. TTF is also around 20k meseta in Ultimate and pretty quick, but the reward does drop off a lot in lower difficulties.

Is there an etiquette to playing with others online. I used to play offline on GameCube long ago with my neighbors split screen, they were good times. But I am curious if maybe there are dos and donts for playing with others such as collecting items or how to attack enemies with others.

  • @SectionSkyly

On Ephinea, the default option for item drops works like PSO2, so every player has their own drops. Because of that, you don't need to worry about stealing rares as they'll be for you anyway. Be aware that if someone drops an item however, it will be visible for everyone. In regards to general etiquette, the main one is making sure you don't run ahead and defeat everything. In PSO, you only get EXP if you tagged the enemy, so if you run ahead you'll deprive the other players of EXP. Generally just stay with your team and you'll be fine. Obviously, if you're playing a Force, using buffs/debuffs/heals is usually appreciated. However, if you're a Hunter/Ranger using Berserk constantly I wouldn't expect a Force to keep healing you (you should keep on top of your own health if you're spamming Berserk). In general though, just party up and have fun!

If you can handle Central control area and run right to the Gal Griffin it's way more exp per hour then TTF. "You need the sea, jungle and mountain done already" I play on Ultima, sometimes there is a double exp event going on and it's not hard to find a team to run CCA with you if you struggle.

Episode 2 is good EXP but I personally find TTF much more efficient up to a certain point because it's so fast to get to the bosses (which is where PSO EXP is heavily weighted towards). At very high level TTF doesn't seem as effective, which is where I'd switch to Episode 4 quests with high enemy counts. This combination is what I used to hit 200 back when the official servers were up. Ultimately run whatever you find most comfortable but I would still recommend TTF to start with. You'll still level fast in Episode 2 though if you decide to do that instead!

On Ver2 I believe I got to lvl 145. On the Cube, 165. Ephenia, 174. Level 200 in combined experience, maybe. Want a grind, try hitting 200 in ver2. No Ep. 2 or 4. TTF all day, all the time. Might be interesting to do a quick video comparing the differences in requirements between the different versions.

I think you actually need more EXP to hit 200 in the DC versions too? Absolutely brutal 😂 I did Lv200 once on Blue Burst and that was bad enough!

@@SectionSkyly I haven't looked at the guides in ages but that's what I remember as well. There may have been some exp bonuses during Famitsu events or something but nothing like the bonuses on Ephenia. People were literally spamming TTF (or whatever exp efficient quest there was a the time) with a S-Rank Spread Needle. Crazy. Speaking of S-Rank Spread Needles, the S-Rank special on ver2 was insane. It randomly inflicted a status effect on enemies including J/Z and S/D and maybe instant kill. The thing about S-Rank J/Z and S/D is it was a very high level. Either made the enemies super weak or death.

Dragon even in Ultimate is not hard at all... the problem is the other bosses, solo they're hard. I just did my first ever solo Ultimate TTF cave clear, after DECADES playing this game.

That's why Dragon is such a fast way to level early. De Rol (or Dal Ra Lie in Ult) isn't that hard either honestly. As long as you avoid the tentacle attack it does when it jumps on the raft you should be fine. Multiplayer it goes much faster, but it is perfectly doable solo!
