[PSO: Blue Burst] Beginner's Guide to FOnewm

Ойындар

Our next guide to the classes of PSO focuses on the FOnewm! If you love a caster-type that can shred enemies with offensive Techs, or if you want a class that can play a hybrid role, FOnewm might be for you...assuming you can handle the jester aesthetic.

I've been watching these character videos as they come out. I'm just late at responding. This is my favorite class. I played the original DC version and loved it. I had a Hunewearl in that one. Played it all winter while I was laid off with my seasonal job (I'll mention this in more detail when I respond to one of your Ragol Memories videos). I played the snot out of the GC version. My Fonewm hit level 200 at about 2,400 hours. I kept playing with him the most, but I had a Humar and Ramar in the 150-170ish levels. Fonewm is by far my favorite. I loved carrying and helping people. But this Fo is no weak mage. Wow, his attacks are wicked. I had recently started to play the GC version offline with an emulator. I had never played him solo back in the day. I almost always played online. This character can solo really well after getting up in levels. I played Forest of Sorrow and Seek My Master over and over and over. A perk of playing offline with an emulator is that you can speed up game play. It made it more fun.... harder, but more fun I haven't played in a bit because Windows crapped out on me by freezing during an update. I haven't tried recovering it yet. I did recreat the char a while back on Blue Burst, but didn't play much at all. I should try to get back online sometime. I know that I'm rambling on, but this game held such a huge spot in my life. I so wish that I could go back to that type of game play. The cooperation was what made it fantastic. Games now don't even come close to it. It's sad how bad social aspects have changed for the worse even though technology has changed to allow us an easier path to be social. Just seeing your love for the game makes me smile. On a gameplay tactic... You mention how Gifoie is very useful throughout the game. I don't remember you stating that it will stack. I always used to throw out 4 or 5 of them outside of a room in Mines where the guys drip from the ceiling. As soon as they hit the ground, they die. It works like that everywhere though, like for slimes. I watched this video when it first came out, so I can't remember exactly... I do however remember when you were fighting the dragon.... There's a point after the dragon falls down. When he gets up and roars. You can't hit him. That's a great spot to cast Gifoie. It will stack up and as soon as he is able to be hit, it will get him, while you are attacking him with another spell. I could probably ramble on about this game all day, but I won't bother you with this. I appreciate your videos and love for the game.

That glide divine fact about tp i never knew!

It's pretty useful, but you do need to keep it equipped for 10 minutes straight. If you swap to any other weapon, the timer will reset. That hurts its usefulness to an extent, but honestly Glide is such a useful weapon for the double J/Z range that you'll end up using it a lot anyway.

I didnt see recommendations for materials, do these just want full 150MND?

FOnewm is a really odd one for materials. I would personally check the Ephinea class guide for them, as the material usage varies drastically depending on how you want to build the class. Important stats maxed only builds tend to use 150 mind materials, some builds use 140 mind and 10 luck and a complete max stat build actually uses no mind materials at all! Bear in mind that some max-stat builds do so at the cost of unit flexibility. Sorry for the long-winded response, but this is one class where I would strongly recommend checking the Ephinea wiki so that you can build it how you prefer to play.

Purplenum is great for the easy God/Minds and for Psycho Wand (if you want to farm it from a rare monster). Glad the video was useful!

@@SectionSkyly just got to ult with him, and farming solo for mil lilies aren't too bad at all! Had 3 rare lilies and no wand 😭 I'd take a 1/500 to spawn and then a 1/205 chance to drop compared to some 1/250000 haha

Yeah it's personal preference. All the drops are awful, it depends whether you want to risk going for rare enemies or have a guaranteed chance every enemy...but at a horrible rate. Good luck finding it!

Don't know if this is still a thing, been a long time since I played PSO but sorting your Psycho Wand below your Adepts reduces the amount of HP drained.

This was something I had no idea about, but apparently it is still a thing! Thanks for the info!
