I've done 3 of these now. They were not easy compared to other modifications out there. Speaking of pixel fx durability, I got pissed off and went into "oh fuck it" mode while soldering the audio flex while having sticky trouble clearing a bridge no matter which flux I was using or what method I used. This bridge was like something I have never encountered, and it angered me dearly. I cranked it up for 470 to fix the bridge after multiple attempts to clear the bridge by other means. It worked wonders and made the prettiest joints too. I then opted to throw caution into the wind and do the gpu flex the same way ( I had extra flexes in case of unrecoverable trouble). I covered the legs with kapton tape to protect it from solder splash. I did very quick tap and drags across the pads and it was beautiful. Thank you for the uploads I enjoy your stuff very much

Using a Hakko with a chisel tip, with good branded flux and Kester Solder wire makes soldering in advanced mods like this a lot easier. I find cleaning up bridges super easy with this setup.

I swear by those "horse hoof" tips. Super useful for a lot of things. Great to have a couple different sizes too. Great install dude 🤘

Hi, thanks for the video mate! I noticed there is some garbage on the screen which appears after KCET logo and just before FMV sequence. Did you manage to understand the source of that? I installed the kit on my console and do see same thing all the time with different games. Thanks!

I fked up my initial install with the bigger flex cable, I did a drag solder and some of the pins got moved. I had to get a whole new flex cable and reseat the pins before reinstalling. Moral of the story, don't drag solder.

So this kit has that mini HDMI to HDMI already in it right? Just making sure if I have to order a different cable. And if yes, what is the best one? :D

Hello , that was the perfect video . Great job . I have just finish installed mine . But ... I have this flickering thing at the boot screen , but not in the xstation or games . I think you talk about it around 18 minutes. For me it is more an up and down fast shaking . I don't know if it's the same issue . Or if it's an issue or not . Also , in rgb signal my sound makes crispy noises . When I use the debug test mode all is ok but for the rgb part it says it needs 24bits to be tested but my clk is only 15 bits . I'm not sur what to think about this.

I still have it in games i just realize . My image is constantly slightly shaking up and down . And no hearts in the rgb part in the debug mode. I think i have an issue with the clock . I did all the bridges for the clock mod and my pal console .

Doesn’t the shiny edition outputs 1440p and the digital just 1080p? I’m asking because I have both the ps1 and n64 digital and want to know if the shiny edition is worth it.
