I used a ProShot case with my iPhone 7 on vacation in Hawaii last month. I used it in the water and had no problems with water getting in the case. And the app worked great. Plus there is room in the case for a credit card or Hotel door access card as well. So I was never needed to bring my wallet with me. This case is very well made. Future plans are to take it SCUBA diving.

Hello, my question is you mentioned adding the 'proshot' app to your phone so you could use the two outer side buttons, does this mean you need wifi or data to access the app on vacation or at the beach. How does taking photos work if your under water ?

If I connected the pro shot onto a go pro wrist mount would it be safe to bring it on roller coasters/ water rides to capture the video

+Vanessa Bartley it will certainly keep your phone safe as long as the strap attaches very securely to your wrist. How tight you can make the strap will determine how shaky the video is I would imagine.

Do you have to turn the camera on before you put the phone in the case? Or is that controlled by the volume buttons too?

+David Torres you do have to have the phone on and the app launched when installing the phone in the case. But then you can use the volume buttons to put the app in sleep mode. This turns the screen so dark it's essentially off to save power. Then you press either volume button to wake it.

Will this case pic up audio if not. Do you think if I was to use a blue tooth mic I could get around that?

+Tyjuan Brown the case picks up audio just fine. You do end up with some creaking from the plastic of the case sometimes. A Bluetooth mic would be fine but I’m not sure how well it would work under water.

Is There a review for operation under water? We tried cellphone under water. We were not able to touch screen. How do you able to operate it under the water.

They have an app that enables you to take pictures and video while under water with the volume buttons. Check out the review at the 2:55 mark where I cover that. If you’re trying to use the iPhone for anything else you won’t be able to without launching the app before you go in the water. It’s just meant for photography.

there are several reasons not to buy that case. 1. It's not depth rated. Can I take it 1' or 2'. The ProShot is rated to 100'! 2. The camera is covered in plastic, which will easily scratch. 3. There are no interchangeable lenses. 4. There's no GoPro mount for accessories. I'm definitely not trusting my $750 iPhone to a cheap case like that when I can buy something that's quality to protect it and have a better experience.

If using iPhone 7 can you use the home button

+Oskar Johnson good question. I was concerned about that too. They changed the touch lid slightly on the iPhone 7 version to allow for that. You can use the iPhone 7 home button just fine.

You can, but it does make it a little more difficult to use. They have this covered on their website at www.proshotcase.com/screen-protector/. The good news is it doesn’t affect the case’s ability to protect your phone.

The app has a timer mode. So you could press the volume button for shutter and then you’ll have a few seconds to get the phone in position with the extended stick before it takes the picture. Otherwise you could use a Bluetooth trigger. But you can’t rely on headphone jack triggers like a lot of selfie sticks have.

No, you can’t use the touch screen under water. But you use the ProShotCase app for that so that you can still take photos and videos using the volume buttons only.

You didn't mention, that I remember using an Apple Watch to control the iPhone with the case.

Personally since I have the GoPro hero 7 black and hero 6 black I wouldn’t buy this for my phone but it’s cool

Definitely. A GoPro is much better but this is a good option for less extreme video for those who don’t own GoPros.

What is the difference between proshot touch and proshot dive? It is just upgraded version for deep diving?

The Dive has a hard lid that makes it so you can’t use your touch screen. But it’s waterproof to 100’. The Touch is a softer lid that still lets you use your touch screen but isn’t meant for really deep water. I prefer the dive lid for most things since their app works so well for taking pictures and videos without interacting with the touchscreen. They also have a redesigned model that has the touch screen lid built in.

So there’s two versions of the case now instead of two lids. The ProShot Touch is made for the 8+. You can see it at www.proshotcase.com/shop/proshot-touch-for-iphone-8-plus/ or grab it on Amazon for $99 at amzn.to/2BI998N. They don’t make a ProShot Dive for the Plus model phones though. I didn’t review the Touch model, but I tested it out and it works well. The iPhone X model should be coming soon.
