Today I'm going to do a review on the ProShot case. I've had a bit of fun using this case over the last couple of months and I'll tell you this. The next time I go snorkelling, I'm putting my iPhone in this case. Over the HitCase, over the Optrix XD6.
For my ProShot review, I've given this case a score of 3.9 Eh’s out of 5. It edges out the Optrix XD6 as well as the HitCase Pro but it doesn’t mean its the best case between the three because that will depend on what you’re going to be using the case for. More on that in a bit.
This is one of the biggest cases I've used and isn't very usable when you're done being awesome. But it's the only case that is waterproof to 100 ft and no, I didn't take it to 100 ft. I don't even know where to start with that. I can barely swim.
In terms of design, the ProShot comes has a back and two swappable fronts. One of the most unique features of this case is the ability to swap out faceplates depending on what you're doing. You have a touchable faceplate for instances where the case might get wet but you still want to be able to use the iPhone (sort of). The other is a rigid of piece of polycarbonate that essentially entombs your iPhone in a clear coffin. The only way to access the device would be through the volume button. With the rigid faceplate, you're able to take your iPhone to depths of 100 ft. Awesome.
From my perspective, go with the touchable faceplate if you're planning to spend a day at the beach with the occasional dip into the lake, pool or ocean. If you're doing anything where you'll be submerged for extended periods of time, go with the hard faceplate because it will prevent you from what I call IBIOTUYIIW or “Idiotic Bobbing in order to use your iPhone in Water”.
Installing the iPhone in the case is fairly straightforward once you do it once. The iPhone sits on a piece of rubber inside of the case but it moves around a bit so on-the -go installation of an iPhone might is a notch more difficult when compared to the Optrix XD6..
The iPhone feels incredibly solid in the ProShot. The aluminum latches have a nice click to them and the transparency of the case helps with determining the physical status of your iPhone. If you're wondering about compatibility with screen protections, for my lake footage, I had a Rhinoshield Impact Shield installed on the iPhone. And everything worked fine.
The the ProShot can be mounted to other 1/4 inch mounting accessories which means anything that you’ve gotten for your GoPro is going to work with the ProShot which is nice though it’s not as easy to use as the HitCase Pro when it comes to mounting your iPhone to awesome things.
When it comes to protection, the ProShot is a tank of a case. This is the only case that we've come across that is waterproof up to 100ft which means that if you do something like scuba diving, this is the case for you. The Optrix and HitCase are not meant for use with scuba divers.
As we mentioned earlier, getting to your iPhone isn't going to be easy. Earlier, I said the ProShot is like a tomb for you iPhone and I wasn’t kidding. The only thing you can access easily on the device are the volume buttons. The sleep button is covered up, the mute switch is completely inaccessible which is the same as the ports. You can barely hear the iPhone in the case.
Even with the touchscreen faceplate, you're going to have a difficult time accessing the touchscreen. If you don't use the tip I talked about earlier, the touchscreen is almost all together unusable.
The last thing I will talk about in terms of the iPhone’s functionality is the set of removable lenses on the ProShot. You can get three different lenses that screw into the case. The wide angle lenses have a fisheye effect to them which is evident when comparing it against the Ztylus prime lenses.

Hi Aaron , would you recommend the catalyst case for a day to day case , I'm going travelling around Australia and want a waterproof case to cover myself, not hugely bothered about drop rating but would prefer waterproof covering Just in case. Only really want one case to cover everything, is this case a good idea?

Can you do a giveaway for some cases?
Waterproof cases abound for the i-phones but simply don't exist at all for Samsung phones. Just now returning a low end ($49) case which failed a water test at 6 feet. I think I should just buy a goPro rather than try to receive underwater phone calls.

You mentioned that the Proshot can be used with a glass screen protector, are there any other waterproof cases that can also be used with a glass screen protector, really don't want to have to remove it?

I've had success with the Optrix XD6. www.mobilereviews-eh.ca/optrix-xd6-review-one-of-the-best-waterproof-iphone-6-cases/ I haven't tried with normal all-weather cases from LifeProof but they suggest not having a screen protector on it.

Hey, your product is great. However, the home button of the iphone 7 has a different design. And with the plastic screen, it is very hard to detect my fingers pushing the button. Is here a possible fix on that in the future?

Raise to wake is awesome. Greatest thing ever... Other than that, the photos app is slighlty more useful if you have a larger iPhone, all the fancy messaging stuff is over-rated and maps is actually usable.
