I’m in law enforcement working in a county jail. And almost every person that gets arrested is starting their new job tomorrow and they have to be let out or they’ll lose it. It’s comical how often that’s stated

My grandma couldn't speak English and so my grandpa would tell doctors she doesn't have any issues with her heart or has had previous surgeries even though my grandma has a heart surgery scar down her chest

I work in retail. Our return policy is printed on the back of EVERY single receipt. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people try to return things months past due. We've had people try to return things we don't even sell. "I know I bought it here!" Luckily our Store Manager isn't a pushover and will just tell them straight that we can't do anything about it because of store policy. People also get huffy when the policy is pointed out on the receipt. I can't tell you the amount of times I've had to call up a Manager because someone just plain refused to give up on their demands and told me to do it. You have literally TWO MONTHS to return something. First Month, you get your money back. Second, you'll only get store credit, but it's better than nothing. Past that? We can't do anything. Someone also once tried to return a mattress that was all the way in another State. Hoo boy, that one was fun.

In the opposite direction of goods, I'm a construction delivery guy. I have no power in the office, at job sites, or our distributors. My job is to get material, deliver it to the job site, take a picture as proof of where it is, and keep going. I can't order things that our bosses haven't approved of, and I'm not ordering anything behind their back because you want the newest tool. I can help bring the material in if it's not a lot, but I'm not doing more than 2 trips without someone on the site getting me. If I have to deliver a whole order myself, I'm putting it all in the easiest place I can access. I'm not staying to help you finish your job, if you want my help, tell our bosses why you need my help. If the material is moved out damaged, I already took a pic of where and how it was left, stop saying I brought damaged material or if it's the GC, no it wasn't one of our guys.

At our distributors: No, i don't want a 4 piece substitute for something you don't have, and I don't want it back ordered, I'll get it somewhere else. Don't put anything on the truck if I haven't looked through it, and I have to separate things so it can be easily taken off. I know that this material in the order is wrong, because that site doesn't need that material, and don't mix orders together because it's the same address, they're for different teams on different floors. Yes, in stuck in traffic, no I can't detour because I'm at a standstill. I'm taking the backroads, so I can't give you an ETA because I'm winging on finding the best route because the GPS says to turn around. Stay on the middle lane, because the road splits and you have to be on the right lane on the left split so you can be on the left lane when another exit merges. It's a truck, don't think it won't slide and keep food and water with you daily because you won't always find stores near sites. No, I don't know anything about the order you placed AFTER WORK HOURS. No, I won't drive by someone else to pick up something you lent them, you go get it. I don't know when you're on break. You didn't make a space for me to park, I'm going to drive around and wait for you to make a spot. No, you can't grab something from someone else's order because you forgot to order it. STOP PUTTING SHIT IN THE TRUCK WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE, THERE'S A SITE, SHOP, RETURN, AND EXCHANGE PILES. No, I don't just sit around doing deliveries, I get sent on job sites when they need the literal strongest guy in the company to help and the fastest guy to do repairs when we test.

I know a customer is lying when they say “I know 1000% this worked before I brought it to you before you worked on my car.” Suprise, customer changed a setting in his cars’ options he forgot about. Ya, 1000% eat your shoe. The higher the multiplier, the higher the doubt.

To the people who trade-in your electronics at GameStop, the cracked screens, dented consoles, filthy vents, stained shells, dead batteries, missing/broken buttons and fried ports of your supposedly "perfectly functioning" device DO get noticed by the staff. We know when shit's been damaged, when know when amateurs "fix" shit, we know when shit's been modded, and we know when shit's broken. Don't waste our time and threaten to complain to the higher-ups because the staff isn't falling for your obvious con.

After some minutes the worker said it is fine somehow and told he has to do the paperwork. This stupid cousin said good, can I see the other Playstations 3 you are selling cause I want to buy a new one. *MASSIVE FACEPALM* - The worker saw something is strange here and didnt buy the PS3 and gave it back. He was so close into tricking them and still failed ... smh.. aaand he was 28 at that time.. like dude..

When I worked at, Wells Fargo Bank 🏦, in debit/check card fraud/non-fraud/ATM/ACH/check fraud (lol), umm, when asking about potential suspects, people would say they suspect maybe their immediate family or friends they've known for 20+ years, but when I asked for names, they would say they didn't know their names or descriptions. One lady said her son's friend is like her own son, cause she's known him since he was a baby, but had absolutely no clue what his name was, even though she'd give him her card + PIN in the past, & suspected him of theft, but gee golly whiz, didn't know his hair color or where he lived - she tripped herself up there, as she previously said he lived w/ her & her son. So I'd ask her & others w/ this same amnesia, "you've known this person for X time/this person is your child, but you don't know their first or last name? That's rather odd, don't you think?" Apparently not

I don't use reddit, but anyone who looks at roofs in any capacity knows if you've damaged the roof by manually lifting the shingles, or if your contractor damaged the roof. In my line of work I don't care if your roof doesn't get bought because of this, I get paid the same.

Everyone has different tolerance levels for alcohol, everyone has differing weights/medication regiments that can affect their overall tolerance, and not all beer is created equal.
