Schizophrenia is a MENTAL illness. The person who is affected has lost their life as they had known it, as does the family. An unbelievable, devastating, tragic, horrific illness.

Honestly me I used to be a fun loving car guy who wanted to be a car mechanic then I dropped out of high school and decided to be a rebellious metalhead with long hair and doing drugs like crack and right now I'm trying to turn my life around thanks to watching Stephanie McMahon exercise videos and eating healthier even doing yoga

My dad adoptive mother had Alzheimer's that she would forget our names and who we were and where she was etc, eventually her mind was gone. It sounds morbid but I am glad that she passed on, not dealing with it anymore

My father in law had a stroke, used to be one of the nicest kindest men I ever met, now he’s an angry miserable hateful person

I feel like my dad is slowly going through this process. Before this he was like Bandit Heeler even though we still had our rough spots. Now it’s like he’s slowly falling down this religious conspiracy rabbit hole. I’m kind of afraid of what he’ll be like in a few years time if he keeps going down this path.

👆this. Watched my dad go through the same thing a few years ago. Brace yourself my friend, and don’t be afraid to put some distance in if needed

I had a very close friend that I watched go from being a brother to me to someone I never want to be around. He met a woman, she slowly soured him on me as a friend. When she was done with him and causing a big rift between us she set her focus on the other friends in my group. Eventually everyone stopped talking to me because the believed this woman over me who had known them for 20 years. It's sad because I am about to get married, and I was best man at a lot of these guys weddings. I want them there but what they did to me and my family I can't forgive. The rumours were awful, terrible lies, saying we were on drugs and that's why my son was born with Autism. We never touched the stuff, we don't even drink. So I dunno where that came from. They had a secret meeting about me and my family and decided that they would distance themselves from us because my son was disabled and they couldn't trust him around their kids. Which is total BS my son isn't violent and is the sweetest kid you'll ever meet wouldn't hurt a fly. They were all just ablist aholes. Using my son as excuse to end a friendship is terrible. Just tell me you don't want to be friends FFS. Don't blame my son's disability for you being an ahole. Anyways rant over.

I've seen people I knew in HS and college switch from right wing to left wing. They initially made it to adulthood and then devolved via wokeness and other left-wing garbage. Now, they're 30-somethings stuck at 14 regarding maturity.
