The older I get, the more I realize that children are a luxury item

Heated floors are common in some places, Korea is one. It's definitely not something you need, but I get it. Even my floor here in Florida gets cold in the winter. I have bad circulation. My feet hurt from the cold even with socks. Not tearing my floor up for that, though. 😅

Bribing government officials through campaign donations (regardless of political parties) and in return getting tax breaks that return my bribe's value more than 100x 😅

I respect the woman that donated multiple times to the fire department after they saved her stuff

I have seen heated floors in the garage, and they are better than you want to believe. My mom lived in a house that had them because the entire house was on a slab with in floor heat so they just had it in the garage as well. I changed a starter in that garage in the middle of winter, the only place I ever changed a starter that was better was on a lift.

Encyclopedia Britannica as a luxury item, lel. I don't know if it was all that expensive, but certainly not at all cheap. My family had a less expensive encyclopedia set, we were lower middle class. I'd buy one or two at a time from the freaking grocery store on a display. They were alright. I enjoyed reading them. I was definitely better educated than most kids because of them. It's almost too bad that these became obsolete. The Internet has everything, but it doesn't seem people use it to learn as much as they could. But, most kids didn't seem to enjoy reading encyclopedias, either. 😅

a house, imagine being able to OWN a house But seriously, I'd say top-end audio equipment, things like record players, amplifiers, tape machines, speakers, and headphones. If you look at Meze's flagship headphones, the Empyrean Elites, they go for like 3,000/4,000 dollars (depending on the retailer). That's about as high as you can go with headphones before they suffer from diminishing returns. Speakers tend to go well over 10,000 (good speakers, not just the crappy ones you get for your computer).

Having multiple pieces of a certain article of clothing is not such a wild thing, tho. I'm piss poor, busting my ass to earn mininmun wage for a dozen of years now -a mere broken oil pump in my car away from being broke-, and keep a pair of slippers, trainers (as in sneakers), at least a basic outfit/a more polished dress/ matching bags, lingerie, personal hygiene stuff, etc. at both my flat (obviously), my granny's, the country house, and the beach penthouse. It's just common sense.

Just so you know, bannock is a Scottish thing. The indigenous people appropriated it. Look it up, if you're in doubt.

3:54 So instead he wants to look like an insecure dork that needs special staff for that? I hope that's just a weird rumor.

Why? Why begrudge people if they or someone in their family's history worked for it, had innovative ideas and built companies that had growth and employed thousands of workers? Instead of being a lazy ne'r do well who spends his wages on drink or gambling only to go home drunk and abuse his wife and children? Sure, one could say that I'm making sweeping generalizations, but the older I've got, the more that this is the case with the disenfranchised. Gone are the blinders of my naive youth, where I once bought the hilarity of "every man is born equal" that was sold in even the best high schools in the well-heeled parts of town. I wonder how ideas like this were allowed to enter our schools, let alone be taught from them. It must have to do with the zeitgeist left over from the 60's and 70's. I could see it in schools where the students were offered auto repair and homemaking classes, where academics were considered as too expensive to pursue where a graduate could land a job straight out of high school and begin contributing to the income of the family rather than find the money needed for at least 8 years of study instead of earnings. Yes, it's not fair. So why tell this big lie about? I'm sad for every person who doesn't get the chance for an education, not just because it can bring someone a better career, but because there is just so much to learn about this world, ourselves, our histories, arts, technologies, the earth and sky, about our potential and our future, about what and who we are, to go through life without learning is a sad, and to me, a fruitless way to live one's life. I would feel that loss, and yet there are people who have never learned to read their own language and feel their lives immensely fulfilling. To each his own. So where was I.... oh yeah! Unless she is killing or hurting people as they're accumulating the wealth they think that their family will need, I don't think it is necessarily a problem. Most do without resorting to crime and immorality. It gets bad when it becomes a mental illness, an obsession. And some will kill over even just a thousand dollars. I mean here the one who does the killing, for whom that grand is a lot of money in his life. And the one who hires a person to do this has lost his sense of value for a human life and he is too insane and too far gone with obsession. So this is other direction this pendulum swings. That's all for now, thanks for reading this; I hope this makes some sense, I'm rambling and it's oh after 0200 already! Goodnight!!! 💜💙💜❤️💜
