It is not unlucky. It was his fault. In the fourth quarter he committed a charging foul when bringing the ball up court. In the last 3 minutes, he was picked up to attack twice and Germany made two vital baskets. His defence is poor.

I am german but i like team USA very much! Its sad to see them lose because of stars who chill in offseason! Im with the germans for sure but would love to see Steph, LEvron, Durant, Lillard, Klay. Its a little bit arrogant to go for the world title with a b group. European basketball gets better and better like u see. In the future you have to bring the best!

@@BigOneEndstopEnt I think that it is not arrogant. Those US basketball stars are selfish guys. The organizer cannot persuade them to participate. Every superstars have their excuses not playing. Respect should be given to the current team. At least they decided to represent their country. It is better than those chilling in the pools or playing golf.

One crazy thing I'm noticing watching the US, they are so not used to FIBA goaltending rules. I paid more attention to it, due to what you said about rebounding, and they are constantly trying to swat the ball away, but for some reason they are grabbing through the net instead of from the side. That's so weird.

  • @Hy-BridAbroad

I somehow had the feeling that the US boys weren't really hungry for victory...maybe because you already have so many titles! But I was still really happy about our victory, even though I would have liked DIRK and DENNIS to make it together as a double D team...well, it wasn't meant to be. BUT what I also wanted to say for a long time: one of the things I really appreciate about the US boys (actually even about athletes from the US in general) is their sportsmanship and their politeness. Even when they have lost a game, they remain polite and even show honest joy and respect for the opponent's performance... this is rare in team sports, especially in Europe, many nationalities take sports far too seriously here, become aggressive when they lose, especially in football ... I just wanted to say that out loud because I think it's a really nice trait. Have goood day bro..

One big difference in FIBA defenses vs US/NBA defense at the world cup: On drives (like Schroeders at @12:37) the US defenders tend to fly by, rather than put their bodies in front of the driver. While FIBA defense generally involves getting and staying in front of the driver, forcing him to go over the defender.

Therefore, with almost all other national teams, there is much more understanding of the game between the players.* Dennis Schröder and Theis, for example, have played together for 15 years in the same club and various age-group national teams. // National coaches of almost all other states do this job as a main job - and then several years. Steve Kerr, on the other hand, is an extremely involved NBA coach for whom the job as national coach is only an extremely strenuous "vacation job".

Legends of American basketball like coach Popovic and like the GREAT Kobe Bryant, tried to warn the Americans about the value and the continuous rise of European basketball. But a lot of American basketball fans were more interested in what Stephen A. Smith had to say. I love Stephen with all my heart because just listening to him, makes my day. But his views about European basketball and basketball players, show a person lacking knowledge on the subject. Good news is that the upcoming Olympic tournament will be ten times extra fun to watch, if the Americans decide to go with their strongest roster. Respect to all the athletes.

USA disaster starts when haliburton slipped by trying to steal the ball then edwards pass didn't catch by jarren and a missed follow through by banchero. Yes maybe they are not the best the us can send to the world cup but they are not just ordinary baller but they are young talented nba players which are capable. I think the only thing hurt them the most is their lack of height compare to other EU teams. They are all just averaging 6'10 and the only guy that can defend the paint is JJ Jr.

Lol, nevermind the whole stars sitting at home for USA. Durrant, lebron, Steph, they aren't young guns to play playoffs and international basketball anymore, but looking at this lineup, who picked this team? As a Nuggets fan, I know MPJ is streaky and injury prone. But we just won a championship and got carried through the season off KCP and Gordan's Defense. Gordan can be sketch from the line but the rest of his game, and being an athletic freak, he is an unselfish teammate who doesn't mine spending all his energy on defense and cuts for his teammates. KCP same thing, with a consistent 3. KCP is only 30 and Gordan is less than that. There are plenty of other players even better from other teams too. Did Kerr pick this team? Josh Hart and Bobby Portis? Reeves over De'aaron Fox? Who picked this team? Tatum is only 25. Who picked this team?!!! KCP maybe too old for this. But Gordan is 27 and is a versatile defender. Tatum is 25. Fox 25. Booker is 26. Did none of these guys want to play? Gordan with Tatum, Fox or Booker already better than the rest of this bench.

Man many Americans are shitting on this team when they achieve better than the 2019 line up. And that 2019 line up is much more talented than this one.

I just had to facepalm on those NBA players whop saidNBA championship = World Championship and defended that nonsense with stuff like "Last time I checked NBA was #1 in Basketball" made me facepalm. There are other sports where athlets of other countries are very good at, like soccer/football. And no teams in none of those pro/premiere-leagues claim to be world champion, after they won their national championships. And football/soccer is also a pro sport worth in the billions. Made those NBA guys look like idiots, in my mind. Sorry to say so.

Sad and funny at the same time, that Basketball is that irrelevant in germany that even the semi final of a world cup is shown in free tv. At least i was able to watch the final..
