PRIMORDIAL - DEMO / 7" 1991 - UNRELEASED previously
Музыка
Released as a bonus 7" with the special limited box edition
of 'Where Greater Men Have Fallen'
"These are the first two original songs we wrote and recorded back in late 1991. We were finding our feet as musicians and our style was far from established yet. They were intended to be released as a demo back then but we shelved them. Musically perhaps they are nothing special and could have fitted onto the B-side of any trading tape back then, but now well over three decades later they represent an interesting curio, a first step into the underground and set us writing our first chapter. Take them for what they are....a raw crude rehearsal recorded through one mic into one channel of an old battered stereo that survived on an old cassette tape in someones attic!"
Recorded early November 1991
AA - vocals
PG - bass
CW - guitar
DG - drums

Such an awesome treat!!! Thanx Alan! 🤘😎🍻
Awesome, thanks for posting
Dark Romanticism.
Seven words like seven deadly sins, to make this podcast a bigger beast!
Sounds great. There's a riff or two there that sound like they were reused in later songs so the Primordial style is already in some kind of germination.
Raw like it should be! So much metal these days is insanely overproduced. Especially death metal. Gonna record some metal tunes this winter but on my tascam 8 track.

this was recorded on 1 track!....:)
It's fuckin awesome....
Thank you for this, it's very interesting to hear this. I thought the 'Dark Romanticism...' demo gave a good insight into the beginnings of Primordial but these two songs offer a lot more. If you happen to read this, I'd be curious to know given the Paradise Lost t-shirt was there a conscious influence from them? Their pre "Lost Paradise" period if any. And was Primordial around in 1991? I had always read you guys were playing as 'Forsaken' back then and changed the name a little later. Cheers for the songs! PS: What a great moment when you introduce your wife to Primordial and a few months later she casually asks 'Have you heard the new Primordial yet?' and you actually didn't know it was coming out

they were not really an influence....but Gothic and the debut were huge albums, at the time we were very into Frost/Venom/Bathory but also the early Greek and South American styles.....
Reminds me of Sepultura's first.
