Re Spur Grommets: Be sure to use a #2 hole cutter for a #1 Spur Grommet. Furthermore, be sure to orient the pieces of the spur grommet properly. If one reverses the placement of the two pieces, then the grommet will be malformed when pressed. So, follow the instructions in the video at 5:40. The male die piece goes into the the female part of the grommet which has the teeth.

Is there any way to acquire line 20 dies for garment snap installation? Have the tool, it's really great, however this additional functionality would be incredible.

Is there a special technique using this tool to keep the cap from dimpling on a snap?

The die set for the button on this tool has a concave base which helps to protect the dimpling of the button's top. So... if your buttons are being damaged when installing it may be two issues: 1. Cheap buttons, try using DOT brand snap components sold at: www.sailrite.com/All-Hardware/Fasteners-and-Hooks/Snaps-and-Fasteners/Brand/DOT/type/Products?order=custitem_popularity 2. Too much pressure when installing. Try to back off the compression setting of the Pres-n-Snap tool. I hope this helps, if not let me know. Thanks, Eric

I have found a work around by using Fasnap buttons. This is happening consistently on most all of the solid brass snap cap brands except for Fasnap cap brand because I am having to install on a very thick piece of material thus requiring me to use 5/16" posts that a lot of name brands don't carry. Since Fasnap advertises that their cap is designed to prevent cap dimpling, I am guessing that this problem is known to happen with other name brands also. With the length of post needed to install, the pressure is probably the cause of the dimpling problem. If I back off the pressure, the cap post lip does not roll over enough to keep the cap from spinning or the lip edge is not enough to keep the cap in place with use. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I love my Pres-N-Snap tool I bought from Sailrite as well as my Sailrite sewing machine. Your repair videos are the best.
