Prepared Citizen: Pistol Proficiency with 50 rounds

Pistol usage is the most realistic and common form of self-defense we as prepared citizens have. In this video I go over some of my favorite drills and stay within 50 rounds to maximize training while minimizing cost.
This was intended to be done from the concealed carry position, but the weather decided to shift so we made do and strapped on the battle belts!

*ProTip:* stay proficient! Get out _at least_ once a month to re-myelinate (that's muscle memory) those neural pathways. It's crucial to fix that sight picture, perfect and hold it on those longer stages. You've got the time, use it to put 'em the 9 or 10 ring. *DB* - might need to shift your sights a smidge. Move those groups 2" right and the score climbs dramatically.

This was both of our first times out in about 3 months and it shows haha plan on uping our practice time

@EricGPP Super casual! I havent picked one of those up yet but I might have to because the prices are so good. I I figure the Gen 3 fleece top was also surplus? Or was it rothco? And of course the legendary gen 1 gore tex top. Love to see it!

The Austrian field shirt is amazingly light, I wish US military uniforms were this light. It's a real issued fleece and he wore it through the entire night so seems to be pretty solid kit except for in the wind.@@froginthewaves8450

@@EricGPP Come Monday I have an entire video coming out on the Gen 3 Fleece. It includes the combat arms vs garrison debate about if the fleece belongs on the inside or the outside of a standard uniform top.

You would have a much better score if you improved your pistol prone position. Instead of doing a roll over, monopod the gun off the ground for more stability, it lowers your silhouette as well. If you need more height to see the sights, you can modify your grip and stack your fists or use an extended magazine. The same can be said if you used bone support during the kneeling position instead of taking a double knee.

All good tips! I'll be trying the monopod idea. Like you said its really a height issue with the straight on prone which sideways helps with

@@EricGPP SpiritusSystems has a great video demonstrating the stacked fist technique. Basically you lock the index finger of your support hand with the pinky of your shooting hand.
