Predator Trapping Prep - The Management Advantage

Спорт

The stock traps you buy for predator trapping are good, but with a little work, you can make them great. We're taking brand new trap just purchased and working through them to have them in tip top shape for our summer trapping run in the south. From adjusting, modifying, and prepping them for the trapline, we're covering it all in this trapping video!

You can rust the traps real quick within 24 hrs have a nice clean coat of rust with a mixture of white vinegar and water 75 to 25 more vinegar than water

I like the paper towel trick to remove the oil. I never poured the water off as some of the oil would find it's way back onto the traps, so what I did was take the pot off of the heat and then pour water INTO THE POT which would cause it to overflow the pot and the oil would run off and down the sides.

Trick I just learned on removing oil and rusting at the same time put them in your dish washer it removes the oils from the factory and they come out rusted only need one to run it once!!! then you can throw them right in the dye and then wax!!! And BAM!!! you have perfectly rusted traps all dyed, waxed and ready in an hour or so!!!! Don't believe me try it once with a couple traps works awesome!!!!

I just soak new traps in dawn overnight. Rinse them off and go catch coyotes. Then dye and wax the next season. Alot of the issues trappers thought were game changers are nothing more then myths. In my opinion dye and waxing your traps is not too catch more animals its to preserve the trap so it will last longer so you can more.

The one thing I have an issue with is wax build up on the dog and the latch. Do you have a quick tip to allow the dog and latch to make a solid connection? I love the management advantage, it is the single reason I started my trapping career. I have followed all of your mods, tips and tricks for each of my sets. Thanks, you guys have helped me thin the pack here in West KY!
