To me, a helpful item would be something like ibuprofen, or maybe one of those Thermacare heat things- they aren't strictly necessary, but they would make things easier and better. If I'm not specifically asking someone to pick up sanitary products for me, it's because I don't particularly need/want them. If I haven't specified to you the EXACT item I need, then it will probably just be thrown in a homeless collection drive anyway. To me, bringing back sanitary products when I didn't ask for them is about the same as if you just randomly brought back a carton of milk when we already have 2 of them. The main difference is that it's significantly more likely that you'll fuck up and get the wrong one when getting sanitary products, either in the type of product (tampon, pad, cup, etc.), the wings, the applicator, the "size" (idk the word in English), the brand, etc. Guys need to realise that sanitary products are not a "one size fits all" situation, both literally and metaphorically. Also, as a 25 year-old woman who actually has standards, I feel like all this childish behavior around it completely undoes any brownie points you would have gotten for "being educated". If you (general you, not the commenter I'm responding to) think it's so normal and you're being so supportive, then why are you putting embarrassed emojis at the mere implication of CLEAN and UNUSED sanitary products? Why are you pretending to be mature or even woke when you aren't even able to bring yourself to type "sanitary products" or "tampons", and you instead have to use innuendo? Any women who commend this need to start holding men to a higher standard and pick that bar up off the ground.

The pain can be similar at first and it's in the same general area, so I believe that's what he was talking about. Honestly, this one has happened to me too many times. I went to bathroom because my stomach hurt and I thought I was only needed to go, but apparently its just my menstruation symptoms. And usually few minutes/hours later, the menstruation happened. So I do agree with the commenters on that video

@Caleb OKAY folks who are religious enough to not use contraception on that basis usually don’t believe in sex before marriage either. idk, sometimes when i'm on my period my body interprets the slightly off feeling as the discomfort of needing to urinate. i've had a bladder infection before and had a similar sensation (albeit to a way more uncomfortable/distracting degree lol). doesn't feel like a full bladder, just that you need to urinate? like if you were to stop peeing just before fully emptying your bladder, the sort of discomfort of like, still needing to finish but being unable to. i think people's bodies just work very differently and have very varied physical experiences of menstruation.

I am a freshman and got sent a picture of a senior boys. . . eggplant today. First time for me, I try to stay away from relationships and boys in genral because I don't want to deal with crap like that and because I don't have the best relationships with men in my life. Most girls in my grade, including my friends get sent pictures of ... eggplants almost daily and it's really gross. I blocked the senior immediately but still I feel gross and violated. I got home about an hour ago and went to my bathroom to cry. I don't want to be sent sexual things nor do I want to deal with high school men who don't understand the words 'no'. Thank you for sharing this here. That’s the first step. It’s absolutely wrong to send explicit images without being asked to do so. Also seniors have a huge age gap with freshmen. Both of these make these seniors predatory. I’m sorry you had to see that. I suggest going to the school eventually. This one kid at my school got in major trouble for doing something similar. If nothing happens about it won’t hurt you. Just keep telling people until it gets solved. I know 100% you didn’t ask for explicit images but maybe there are certain features you can put to make sure it doesn’t happen again. It’s not your fault. I have told a few (literally like 2) of my friends about what happened and it kind of shocked me of the responses i got. the first girl, Autumn, told me how awhile back the same boy sent her a picture, explicit messages, and crude/demanding threats. she told our school board/principal and they didn’t do anything. he wasn’t expelled, reprimanded, sent home, or scolded. he DID get praised by the other boys in my grade for what happened though. It really hurt me to see her act like that, and besides, we are both underage so her being unfazed and even cruel to me when i explained what happened really shocked me. i do go to a conservative school, although i am not a right-winger myself and i know girls in my school literally share pictures like those with each other. most girls know what every boys ..thing looks like and it’s repulsive to me. i don’t befriend most men in the first place if i don’t know them on a first name bases, because i do not trust them. but i know that boy, he literally sits next to me in science. i know his sisters name and where he lives too. and although it’s not on my mind as much, i still feel uneasy. as a SA survivor already, things like these really upset me a lot. I'm AMAB, so take this with a few teaspoons of salt, perhaps several cups of it, but periods are in a way "gross". But the way they're portrayed by society is even worse, as periods are something 100% of AFAB people experience monthly. It should be normalized, not stigmatized. Although, the idea of bleeding and cramps happening constantly sounds like torture.

That’s what it is, but it’s also entirely normal and just something that happens to people sometimes, so we could all stand to collectively be more chill about it. I get what the OP is saying, though; if your first reaction to hearing about a period is to actually say “gross” out loud, there’s something wrong with you, lol. Like when somebody says “brb I have to use the restroom” you don’t feel the need to announce how disgusting it is, so why treat periods any differently?

Am I doing periods wrong? I've never once been unsure if it was my period or needing to pee. The actual issue is "Is my period starting or am I just getting normal discharge?" because you get a lot of discharge before your period and it feels the same in your pants.

never in my life have I confused my period and my need to go. Like the period just happens and it happens in a completely different place. Its like confusing having to pee and having to shit. It feels completely different. What happens more often is not being able to differentiate between your period starting, a lot of sweat or the regular vaginal fluids.
