Potatoes Romanoff - Steakhouse Potato Gratin - Food Wishes

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Learn how to make Potatoes Romanoff! About 10 years ago, I took a trip to Las Vegas with a group of food writers, and while I don’t remember much, I do remember learning how to make this incredible potato gratin from Chef John Schenk, at his restaurant, Strip House. Visit foodwishes.blogspot.com/2019/... for the ingredients, more information, and many, many more video recipes. I really hope you enjoy this amazing Potatoes Romanoff recipe!

The dish is already VERY onion-y. Plus bacon is cheating. Furthermore, this wouldn't be Potatoes Romanoff if you added those things. If you need bacon in it, chances are you chose a bad cheese and/or didn't season it enough.

I made this for one of our family Christmas dinners this year. Off the charts delicious!!!! Gotta plan ahead so you have the time to fully cool the taters after baking so they can be shredded. Made up the final dish ahead and put it in oven as guests arrived to cook. Sprinkled crisp cooked bacon on top to garnish once it was taken out. There was NONE left! Thanks Chef John for helping me make a memorable meal. Oh... by the way... I served it w Chateaubriand and bacon wrapped green bean bundles.

Mary Beth, what a delicious dinner and thanks for answering my question of whether it can be made ahead. Will it keep all right in the fridge for a few hours, or did you make it right before the guests and leave at room temp? Many thanks, months later!

Hello. I put it together early in the afternoon and put it in the fridge. Took it out about 1/2 hour before to bring to room temp before I cooked it. I hope you love it as much as we did.

Since chef said this was the "classical" recipe, I'd say: "You are, after all, the Sergei Rachmaninoff of your Potatoes Romanoff." That kinda works "ethnically" too! :D lol.
