It’s from epidemic sound. I’ll have to double check the name! I train the same amount of days (6days/week) just more circuit training and lifting not gymnastics routines

You did what is called a “sissy squat” in the footage before starting to talk. Also hamstring curls. Sissy squats puts too much pressure on your knees. Not healthy at all. Hamstring curls also are at least a bad way for developing hamstrings.

Hello there. In actualy ty, it depends on the persons goal and body. With the ham curls, it is actually a good ACCESSORY exercie. onventional hamstring exercises tend to focs mostly on hip extensio (deadlifts, squts, lunges, hip thruts , good mornings and more). With those hip-hinge-dominant movements. the body tends to develop mostly the higher section of the hams (and the lower section of the glutes. Just saying it for the sake of it). If you are training for hypertrophy, working on a ham curl can e beneficial. I do agree with you on the ham curl not being a great execise fo building strength, which is what I assume you ment. It would be best to do glute ham raises.... but nontheless, it's a bad exercise. Now, on the sisyphus squats, again, it depends on the individual. For him, a former gymnast with oer two decades of expericience, it'smost likely not an issue. the reason the sisy squats are such a polemic exercise is that they may eat away the tendons....

.... While it is definitely not an execise you should add weight to (and if you do, then not much), it can definitely be a great tool to develope the tendos. By performing the exercise slowly and adding extra time on the eccentric, it can do a fantastic job into developing it. Now, if he doesn't have good needs, or if he has problms with ligaments, he should definitely stop with them.
